Someone told me iv layed down the muscle over existing fat in my arms which is why im looking bulky. Is this true? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
No, this is not true.Veena is spot on. The lower the body fat the more cut you will look. Also, fat is layered over muscle, not the other way around.
I would love to be as long ans lean as Veena but I also know that will never happen (nor will I ever have an hourglass figure). The difference in shapes is what makes each and every one of us unique and beautiful!

I so would not give money to someone who was not helping me.
Have you tried plyometrics?

My progression before trying this move:
bow and arrow
pencil from bow and arrow
headstands and handstandsI have fairly inflexible shoulders so this move sometimes messes with them. I also have an issue with sweaty hands in this mount…..don’t know why but I do. I would LOVE to be able to do this with legs splayed…..in due time.

Alright, I gotta get in on this too!

I will add that lace up boots will leave a whole other type of bruise on your feet and shins. I get little dots that match where all of the metal eyelets are.

I have a piece of wall paneling under my pole since mine is set up in the garage. I came home one day to find that my husband ran rope lights around my "stage" and they have been there ever since. On nights that I just want to get into the music and dance I shut off all the lights in the garage and just use my rope lights.
On a side note….lights on the floor and high heel shoes are not a good mix.

Great job getting the superman. Now you can work on the fall. its not as scary or difficult as it looks. Redken has a great tutorial on it from you tube that i learned from.
I am still scared to death to try this….

There are some days when I am just not feeling "it". You are also probably over thinking things and may still be a little leery about the pole coming down on you. For me at times it is really hard to break that "home" aura too. When I go to the studio it is all about pole; when I am at home my mind is on the million other things that I could/should be doing. But then there are some days when the whole world just melts away and it is just me and my pole. Those are good days.

MemberNovember 8, 2009 at 4:36 pm in reply to: Resistance Stretching–Check This Out!!!!I got the book yesterday from the library and was also very surprised at my straddle incorporating his suggestions into the stretch. I am lucky to even get my forearms on the ground but using the technique in the book I was able to get my (small) chest within 5" of the ground. I worked through all 16 beginner stretches and let me tell you how sore I am today. I am going to start looking for used copies online.

Not sure if it would work for spinny poles, though. I have gotten dizzy on static….not so much any more. Still not a big fan of spin mode…… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif

I did not have any classes near by either when I started. I own a bunch of videos and also have spent many many many hours watching youtube videos and learning the mechanics of moves.
As for shoes, I am sure that Watertown has stores where you can try them on. I have been lucky enough to get shoes through wholesalers or on ebay. I know what size I wear in both Ellie and Pleaser. If there are any temporary costume shops near you (Halloween USA, Spirit, etc) this is the time to get bargains on some of the shoes.

There is a really good article on another forum I visit. On page 4 of it he describes the move you are referring to.

I checked out the P90x program from the library. I seriously do not have the amount of time that P90x requires on a daily basis.
I also looked into ChaLEAN but have not seen the videos. I really like the turbojam series that she has and like the fact that I think the longest of her workouts is 45 minutes.
My honest opinion though is that if you pick a plan and stick with it religiously for 90 days you are going to see results. The hardest part is sticking with it religiously.
