You will be fine. I ordered mine quite some time ago and I think did regular shipping. If I remember correctly it was here in days.

The one club I go to has 2 poles that are kind of close together (and to the wall). I have gotten some pretty bad road rash from hitting the brick wall too (ouch).

I really think you need to be able to arch your back in order to get this move. I can’t do it so I am of no help.

Oooooo, I’d like to come too!!! Is there somewhere to stay in the area that’s somehow….cheap? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I was finding hotel rooms for $45 on hotels.com. Directly downtown is going to be more expensive but a little outside of the city (5-10 miles) rooms can be found cheap.

yep my laces are round so I might try that. I get them snagged on my fishnets, and on the laces for the other boot. Not real graceful when all of a sudden you can’t move your legs because your boots are stuck together by the laces. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif or better yet be upside down and have your fishnets get caught in the hooks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

I have done both! I have even caught someone else’s laces in my boots! That was rather interesting!

Get the option to spin. You may not use it at first but it is nice to have the option!

I started using the S Factor book and I remember sitting with it open in my garage trying to read and then do the move, read, do the move…it was not fun! I then purchased Shawn Francis Lee’s first dvd (polekat?) and the first S factor dvd. About 4 months in I had the opportunity to visit an S studio in Houston. I had also visited one girl who was teaching in her basement who was written up in the Akron Beacon Journal. Later that summer I think was the first time I got out to a studio on a regular basis, but it was more of us trying to figure out stuff off videos we saw. The owner had Pantera’s video and one of the other girls had Vertical Dance. With the exception of learning stuff by visiting forums I cannot say that I have had what I would consider formal training. I know that I have picked up some bad habits and done some damage in ways of pulled muscles.

I really miss studio time because it was me forcing myself every week to work on something. I also wish there was a stronger community of pole dancers in Cleveland.

lol she took them while trying to explain it to me on another forum and I still can’t do it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

how does hammering them down effect being able to tighten them? I usually have to tighten my laces a couple of times especially if I’m wearing them for several hours.
Nymph…I will show you in Chicago.

If you have the round laces it should not be a problem. You should still have a gap that is open enough for the laces to move.

Sharing a pole works in the beginning because it is physically taxing and gives students a chance to rest. For an instructor it means double explanations.

Hold on, I’m confused. Why does pole sharing mean double explaining for instructors? You still address the whole class at once https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

And when learning a new move how many actually retain it for the minute or so before they get on the pole themselves? Especially if you are showing hand/body placement.

The only time I have ever seen a spinning superman (true superman) is when someone was on a spinning pole. There is no other way if you are up high to spin it. Now there is a spin called the superman but it is not the same thing.

What are you looking for? I have been to a few clubwear and dancewear sites and just typed gold into the search button and came up with a bunch of options.

Flirt Catalog (if it does not show gold in the photo there is an option of it coming in gold)

    Dancewear Solutions

Even Electric Boutique had a bunch of outfits.

    Is it sinking in yet??

As far as cover goes, I could care less!

HEY…does anybody have a Star Stand Alone? Val…are there any decent street poles or playground poles near by?

Class size…I would say no more than 5-6 per class and that is even difficult because people progress at different levels and at times you can feel like you are spending more time with one student than the rest.

Crash mats are a good idea once you start inverting. I think along with this if you teach the students how to spot one another it gives them another level to poling and more respect for the art and dangers.

Shorts and sports bras….there really is no place like Walmart. The Danskin line is FAB and at max you will pay about $10 for a great sports bra and maybe $7 for shorts. There are also some cute side ties out by OP at Walmart right now that are maybe $5. I have also gotten some great undies that can be used as pole shorts at Target. Both places have really cute bikinis that can be used for poling.

On a side note, I saw the CUTEST pair of bikini bottoms at Kohls the other day. They were boy cut and in black and had a goldish belt and then a huge gold crochet butterfly on one of the cheeks. Then I saw the price tag…… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Don’t forget to look at places like Bealls and Hot Topic. It does not have to be exotic wear to actually be used for exotic wear!

My mom was down there for a while on the island. One too many hurricane seasons and she moved back up north!

We usually are down there every spring but the last 2 years it has not worked out. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

There is another one or two here that are from your area…..I think one is in Pensacola and one might be in Destin. I was surprised when I saw the first studio open up down there and now it looks like there are 2!
