My fiance will have the pleasure of dealing with my poor broken body’s sore bum xD I need a serious back rub with some tiger balm after today!

That’s when my tailbone hits the pole is when I’m doing the layback, not before….So I’m assuming it’s normal then? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have a chrome x-pole…and I can tell you its not slippery..unless it’s just cold because I haven’t warmed it up yet. once it’s warmed up though, I feel like I could sit on it for hours…and I’m no expert https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Welcome!!! Come out to the boards more often, quit lurking!lol! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

It might hurt your hoo-ha if you hit it against the pole…Very uncomfortable. But I think you just need to find the right position. You want to be sitting on a meaty part of your thigh…It will hurt the first few times…After a while it becomes second nature. You’ll know when you’ve found the spot I’m talking about. i use green works windex on my pole to clean it and it tends to help a lot for grip. You also want to make sure your pole is "warmed up" before you try sitting on it. Do some spins and things to get it warm, That way your skin sticks to it when you climb up it. You won’t stick to a cold pole. I hope that helps https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Your first time on the pole can be a little unforgiving sometimes…I felt like I’d never be able to climb the pole gracefully My first day..a few days later I was climbing it all day. Some great exercises are Push-ups! Another great one for building up strength and pole awareness is practicing handstands against your pole! Try wrapping your legs in different positions, splits…Practice the "Butterfly" move in a handstand position.
Another one that’s great for your back muscles, and arms is to find a sturdy chair or a table, With you back to the chair (or table) go into a "sitting on a chair" position, with your arms behind you, Bracing the edge of the surface. Using your arms, Lower yourself down, and then back up into a "seated" position.
Practice those spins! The do build strength and pole awareness! And try practicing climbing the pole often, and when you’re ready, Sitting on it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif If you are really new to pole, It’s not a bad idea to invest in pole shoes with ankle straps! The material is made to stick to the pole, and makes climbing it one billion times easier!lol! I’m sure Veena has a lot of lessons that could help you with strengthening as well. She has the whole system set up really well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Enough space to where you can stick your arms and legs out from the center of the pole, in a complete circle around the pole…Top and bottom, So keep light fixtures in mind. You don’t want to spin around your pole and start knocking over everything you own https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Seriously!!! How exciting! I’m adding everyone as friends!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

If You’re not really petite in hand size, 50mm is probably for you. It is standard, and there’s more to grip with the rest of your skin. More width for your legs and arms to stick to. I’ve been on a 45mm before and it was almost strange to me how different it felt…A tad more painful on the pole sit too…but maybe that’s just because it’s not what I’m used to https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

I actually have a clear pair of Pleasers in the same style only in 8 inch heels. For me, A lot of times they do come off if I’m arching my foot a certain way, or doing certain moves. A lot of girls use ties to tie under the heel and up around the ankle…But depending on the material, You might not be able to then use that part of the shoe because it might slide.
I Personally prefer to get shoes that have the ankle strap. The material provides AMAZING stick, And the ankle strap allow me to climb in positions that I would normally probably slide in. Just some food for thought https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I was already heavy chested before, But after pregnancy and breastfeeding I went up to a DD. Now that I’m back and poling though, They’re shrunk back down to a D cup. I wear a 34 normally, But I buy 36 because I’m still breastfeeding and it gives me that little bit of room for expansion if the girls get too full https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I think it has more to with doing physical activity in general and less to do with just the pole. Your breasts store lots of fatty tissue, that’s why more often than not, They’re one of the first things to change when you gain or lose weight.

I read on pole exercise.co.uk that you can use lambskin leather gloves. I don’t think It’s recommended for use ALL of the time, But for learning new tricks and what not they really give you that extra grip. I just clean my pole a lot, But I know It doesn’t help if you’re in the middle of a routine, Or doing something where you can’t take a break. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
Here’s the article if it interests you at all: http://www.poleexercise.co.uk/2007/04/20/5-ways-to-beat-sweaty-hand-syndrome/

She is really graceful. She was actually my inspiration to start poling a few years ago, I just finally got my pole in February https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif She Just started a school of her own in Tucson, az.

My friend ashley does those a lot, But more in a gemini/scorpio position. It looks like she gets her momentum by switching her legs from side to side…I found a video of her doing it on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvI1PjnYILU&feature=autofb" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hopefully that helps https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

In my own opinion, I was a dancer before, And I feel totally comfortable topless…My cookie on the other hand, not so comfortable. I agree with the above statement about guys trying to put their fingers where they don’t belong. Here In Arizona, You can’t dance nude in clubs that serve alcohol, Only topless…If You are in a bar that serves liquor and nude dancing, Just prepare yourself, Because at least once in a great while, There might be "accidents" that might make you feel like absolute crap https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif . Drunk people aren’t always predictable. Just find Out what your personal boundaries are, and where you are most comfortable when making your decision.

hey! I know you said you wear 8.5…but I have a pair of size nine black pole shoes if you want them https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif They’re not clothes, But they’re nice shoes!lol! If you think they’d work, or are interested, send me your address. My feet are a half size bigger since I had a baby, and my toes just hang off the edges now…I loved these shoes once…lol.

This was a beautiful story! When I was pregnant, in My lamaze class they talked a lot about things similar to KMC, and the benefits of skin to skin contact as soon as the baby is born. With all the knowledge about it’s benefits, I don’t see why some doctors could act so cold about these situations.

Thank you for having the courage to post that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif It did loads for my self esteem (I had my daughter 8 months ago) I was still in the stage where I thought I was the only one…and I was feeling down on myself…I’m really appreciated the other link Shape of a mother too!
