Here is some clarification on the POCs for Amy:

To answer your specific questions, we count each hand/leg separately, and the upper leg and foot would count as 2 separate points.

Here’s more information about the 3 points of contact:

The 3 points of contact refer to how many body parts you have on the pole at one time. This rule is only in effect in level 2 when you are upside down on the pole (hips higher than your head). The rule would not apply if you hips are below your head, or if you are doing an elbow stand, headstand, handstand, etc. on the floor.

For example, a standard shoulder mount has 3 points of contact (2 hands and 1 shoulder).

    Other acceptable level 2 moves:

Gemini/outside leg hang (back of knee, side body, armpit)
Scorpio/inside leg hang (calf, inner thigh, side body, back of shoulder)
Cross knee release/figure 4 layback (2 inner thighs, calf)

Examples of moves that would not be allowed in level 2 because they violate this rule:

    Handsprings/iron x
    Cocoon
    Fanji
    Most ayasha (elbow grip) variations
    Cross ankle layback/straight leg layback

I’m competing in Dramatic L2. I’m really excited to be part of the event, it’s going to be huge! I need to get more clarification though on the POCs….ie does one POC = both legs or one? Like with the superman. If each leg is one poc than it would be 3 and not 2.

Hi – I used to teach Anti-Gravity Yoga and really enjoyed it. I wouldn’t recommend buying their kit due to price but you can check out Air Cat Aerial Yoga in CO (www.aircat.net). They have kits for all different types of setups and also offer Instructor training. I did the Anti-Gravity Certification which my previous studio employer paid for. It’s a perfect compliment to pole – works out the kinks and stretches you in a great way!!

Look up Polar Fitness. They are in Fredericksburg right near Stafford. I live 30 minutes from Stafford but I teach at DivaFit in Herndon and Vertical Girl Fitness in Warrenton. Both are a hike from Stafford or else I would recommend them : )

@Glitter – I have always had a soft middle no matter how tone or in shape I have been. I have always envied the girls with flatter tummies and at the same time they envied my curves. I’ve finally come to like my belly when I kind find clothes that don’t cause muffin top. Softness is sensual. I definitely agree with clean eating and cardio strength intervals. Lots of water and MUFAs. Look into CLA too – Conjugated Linoleic Acid, a derivative of safflower oil. Supposed to help with whatever causes our bodies to store fat in the abdomen.

One to add: you know you are a pole dancer when you start referring to tiny booty shorts and sexy platform stilettos as “cute” : )

Chemgoddess1 – yes it was the Paraguard, thanks!! Copper IUD with no hormones. I’ve also used a diaphram however it required a little planning ahead of time (didn’t last long ; )

My personal experience, Depo = fat crazy no period no sex drive and took over a year to get my period back after I stopped taking it. Mirena = convenient spontaneous & no hormones (my goal). However, I went from a light 3 day period to a Heavy 7 day period with really bad cramps. For me the good outweighed the bad. If you have not had kids be warned, insertion is pretty intense and lots of cramping. This was my experience with both and everyone is different. Good luck!!

3rd grade, GEORGE MICHEAL! Can't remember the album name but it had 'I want your sex' and 'Father Figure' on it. Those could be fun ; )
