Yeah, I can’t think of an accurate amoutn of time that it takes to warm the pole (and myself) because it all depends on the day and my mood and the poles mood and the room temperature LOL.
I do like Georgia and spin shimmy and slide all around my pole. I always start with beginner moves and spins and transitions and slowly work my way up to inverting and such. if you look at my videos…pretty much every dance I ever posted was a warm up dance LOL (I need to change that) but it’s an example of what I do to warm up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I’ve gone there one other time for a pole party. I had fun being with so many other ladies, most of whom had never touched a pole before. I wasn’t really a fan of the set up though. There was no mirror where I was in the back and we had to share poles so that meant a lot of time waiting while your partner was poling https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
Do you like it there?

You’re welcome https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
I wanted to share something I posted on facebook today with you guys too. Veterans day and any holiday celebrating our military are special to me. As a vet and an army wife.
On this veterans day I have to say how happy I am to be an Army wife and be part of such a strong and special community. I attended a function at my kids school this morning and it’s so nice to go into the school and see the same faces that I see at football practice, at work, at the commisary and from my neighborhood…. It’s so nice to be greeted with smiles of wives who struggle with the same things I struggle with.Who’s kids have the same issues as my kids and who’s husbands fight for the same cause as mine does. The military family is a special one. Our kids will have to be the new kid at school at least once every few years. They will not have a "hometown" or a state they can identify themselves with. I’ll never be at a job long enough to get promoted. We’ll never have the same doctor for very long. The possibility of a move is always looming and you can never really feel settled because that can change at any moment. We are seperated from the ones we love often and spend holidays away from our families. It’s just us. We are all we have but we make it work so that you can be free. Thank you to all of you who continue to put your country before yourself and those who have in the past. Thank you to the families that support those that wear the uniform. Have a great time at Golden Corral! LOL (The Golden Corral feeds active duty and vets for free on veterans day )

I’m working on trying to get my Iguana mount smoother.

Oh and P.S. Can there be more than just the required moves in the 90 seconds (IF there is time left over) or is it restricted to what is being asked for, i.e. 2 spins, 20 secs floor work, etc.
The dance just needs to have those elements in it. Those are the minimums https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
It’s just a challenge. You won’t get disqualified or something if you just end up doing whatever you want LOL. It’s all for fun! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif -

The top of the foot bruise was my very first pole bruise! LOL i got it from doing a gazillion firemans in my first class. It will get better and eventually you’ll stop bruising once you get used to it. I’d take a few days off of moves that require the top of the foot to let it heal up or wear some shoes (like already stated) until it feels better https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

ooh how fun! although i can’t do the splits…does that mean i’m disqualified? Lol. But I’ve been stretching every day and I’m getting closer! I’m bad at choreography so I’m just going to free style it and try to remember what i have to do….i’ll write it on my arm or something so I don’t forget! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I can’t do the splits either but I’ll do my version of a split LOL. Bent knees and all!

Hi Allie,
Me personally. I would feel compelled to bring it up to the owner, at least once. I know she has a lot on her plate but I think the studio and the students that attend it are her responsibility too and she should want to make sure they’re all getting the best instruction that she can provide them. I’d offer to help the "new girl" (if she wanted it) and see if we could get her up to a instructor level, at least for the basic stuff, as soon as possible. If the owner didn’t do anything about it, then I’d just have to watch her bomb and watch the studio lose clientele or get a bad rep because of new instructors being thrown into classes when they’re not ready. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_neutral.gif And that would suck.

LOL, I just posted a similar thread not too long ago because I was having what I call "Dancers Block".
It happens and it will probably happen again and again. All you can do is keep on keepin on until you get your mojo back. It’ll come back, I promise https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Congrats!
I’m just starting to work on this too!

 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I remember the first whiff I got of my hair when I quit over a year ago…ohh man tasty https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Unfortunately I’m back on the bandwagon again https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif I stayed quit for about a year but man college is soooo bad for my smoking habits…all my friends (and I mean all. Literally every single one) smoke. Just got out of a 3 year relationship with a guy who smoked, and the guy I’m seeing now smokes worse https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif When I quit the first time, it was because I realized I was officially a 5 year smoker, because I started at 15. Now I’m realizing I will probably see the 10 year mark roll around and my head will spin when it does. I never thought at 15 that I ever could or would be a smoker of 5-10 years, but then again what the heck did I know at 15? Shows how much foresight I had, that’s kind of what happens! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I don’t think you can expect yourself at 15 to know what a bad idea it was to pick up that first cigarette. I know it’s hard as hell to quit when everyone around you smokes. That’s why I love Chantix because it makes it so that even if you feel like you should smoke, you can’t cuz it’s gross. Somehow this medication totally turns you off to smoking. I don’t know how it works but it’s good stuff.
