Hey folks,
I asked Xpose if we could have our jam there and they said that we could book a "Private Party" and have the pole room to our self for an hour and a half. The cost would be $19 per person for 5-9 people and $15 per person for 10 more people. If we wanted longer we could book 2 parties back to back, then the cost would double. They have availability on
Friday the 18th from 8:30-10:00pm
Saturday the 19th at 4,6 or 8I think that if we did use xpose we should do a double party on saturday (maybe take the 4 and 6 slots) and then we could even head over to pole pressure afterwards for their x-mas party if we felt so inclined https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif .
It would be a fun filled day of pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Hi Sur,
When I first started taking pole dance classes my husband reffered to them as stripper school and really only tolerated it because I had a close friend that was into it and we went together. Actually we were only taking floor chair classes (because she had no interest in trying the pole) but when she left and I wanted to go on my own he gave me a hard time everytime I wanted to go and I ended up just stopping because it was drama whenver I wanted to go.
Eventually the urge became too strong and I started sneaking. I would go during my lunch hour or go in the evenings and tell him I was going to the gym. We actually ended up seperating (for an array of other reasons) but while we were apart I embraced pole and got one in my own home. He would come over and see me and see what I was doing and I think he had a totoal different idea of what I was trying to do. I think he thought I was really trying to work towards becoming an exotic dancer and if I wasn’t …then what was the point? Once he saw me doing what I do he understood it was something totally different. He was a tad bit more open minded because I had left and he wanted me bac LOL, but since we have reconciled he knows how much I enjoy poling and that it’s not only about dancing at clubs or stripping. My stripper disclaimer …I don’t have any problem with stripping but my husband does when it comes to his wife LOL.
If you can show him what you are doing (or plan to do) I think it will help him to understand. It seems he’s already some what open to it because he didn’t try to stop you from buying one on ebay and seems to be cool with you trying to buy again. Just show him.
Like Georgiamarie posted….show him that stuff. Educate him LOL.

Hey I’ve been to p spot before! Just once for a party. Had a good time too. The dc pole jam location and time are yet to be determined but as soon As everything is official it will def be posted here!

Yeah Daya you left too early, you missed the show LOL. I helped Reggie put it up and and it’s not complicated. I just didn’t tighten it good enough that’s all. I have learned my lesson.

Eheheh. IT IS SCARY.
Did you feel like you were riding the pole down?
I remember that’s how I felt when my supapole fell down wtih me with it. we were having a tasty little standing fireman, and then all of a sudden, we were riding down towards the floor.
That really sucks that you hurt yourself, though. Lets be glad that the pole crushed the wall and not you, though! Usually with post housing (I’ve found), you don’t have to pay for anything less than fist sized – I guess a free PTSD get out of bill free card, or something? So if it’s not TOO huge, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Otherwise, drywall patching isn’t a huge charge anyways. We had some guy throw his boot hard enough to make a boot sized dent in the wall – and that was only 20 bucks.
I felt like my spin was getting very horizontal….LOL. The hole is much bigger then fist size. The whole half of dome basically went into the wall. If I have to pay then I have to pay. It’s my fault for not doing the right thing and practicing safe pole! LOL
Reggie put her back up lastnight and I had a good, sturdy session https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif I’m back in the game!

Oh that happens to everyone? I thought it was just me!

OMG Sis, is your arm okay? I had my Hubby make mine permenant, that is my only fear doing pole. i know eventually I’ll need one I can take with me, but worry about this very thing happening. Do you have an xpole? I heard they can unscrew themselves if they are not tightened good enough, same with lilminx. Is that what happened? Hope your pole is okay too.Hugs
The xpole is very sturdy and reliable…when installed properly. When my husband puts it up I have no problems. Of course he has read the directions and I was just going off of what I thought it was supposed to be and in a hurry to pole. Stupid…stupid…..

Thanks guys. The shoulder feels better today but the bruise is still there…as an ugly reminder lmao.
Now I have a "My pole feel on me" story.

Hi Sabrina and welcome!
I live near DC in Fort Meade. Ther are a few of us in the nearby area! Do you take any classes? If so where do you go?

I dance to everything. I have no preference at all. LOL
I use an app on my iphone called pandora and you can enter an artist or a song and it will play music similar to that, so when I dance whatever song or artist is on my mind….I enter that and then go for it. For example….’Hmmm….I like this Beyonce song" enter Beyonce and it will play her music and other music in the same or similar genre.
My mood alternates….and so does my music https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Mmmmm stretching in the hot tube! what a good idea!

..Yeah. I have.. really no interest in reading what someone thought about what I said. I want the person to read the comment, but not feel like they should respond to make me feel noticed. That way everyone feels like a superstar who doesn’t have to respond to their little people. The comments are for the video,… unless you ask a question, then you can return back to have it answered.
However, if SV gets to comment notification, I’ll definitely pursue comment-conversations to the best of my ability.
…I thought this was going to be like, a .. different kind of etiquette post, though. Like, "Is it wrong to leave a comment that only contains only booty praise?" …’Cause no. It ain’t. If that’s wrong, I don’t wanna be right.
Gotta love the booty praise. I don’t wanna be right either.

If your left arm is up then your left leg should be on the pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

How cool Jeng! Did she teach you all kinds of wonderfully awesome things?

I think you might be having a flexibility problem in your hamstrings and chest and shoulders. I’d work on stretching there so you can get your arms behind you comfortably.
Your biceps getting buff is a good thing! One of my favorite things about poling is the nice tones arms it gets you. make sure you’re stretching your arms often. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Awww thanks so much guys! Your support really really puts me at ease and I know you’ll be there with me every step of the way!
You guys are so cool.
I love you man! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif (hug replacement)

I’ve been watching how people climb more closely lately and I see people with both feet behind the pole and one in front and one behind. My pole is so short at home that I can’t really climb so I don’t even know how I do it or even if I can LOL. I’m going to start taking more classes so I can use a higher pole and work on climbing.

I wear a 10 in normal shoes and the one pair of heels I have is a 9. when I bought them at the studio they told me to go down a size and it worked out ok….of course I got to try them on first…soooo…I guess I’m no help here LOL.
Damn. Why do I kepp doing that? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif -
This used to happen to me too. And just like you, it didn’t start hurting me til after i had been inverting for at least a month or so.. and i also noticed it was more intense with the chopper. I remember Veena telling me that it was because i was using mostly my lats to invert, rather than my arm muscles & abs. So maybe you could try focusing on engaging those muscles more. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
Another thing that really helped me with this, was that i started warming up my back really really well : lift your arms straight up over your shoulders (keeping knees slightly bent & pelvis tilted front) and then pull them straight down behind your ears- as if you’re trying to pull down elastic bands attached to the ceiling (for resistance). https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Also make sure to stretch your back. I found that the one where you’re sitting down, legs straight ahead, & cross one leg over the other & then twist torso to the other side while pushing elbow against the crossed leg really pinpoints that spot of the back. Hope this helps, and hope you feel better! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/alien.gif
I think this might be the problem! In my attempt to roll into my inverts I have been engaging everything by my arms. The pain is all up my upper side area LOL (lats). This all makes sense. I need to use more arms. Ive been so concerned with not using too much "kick" that I think I over compensated https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Do you usually slide down of an invert or do you sometimes jump out of it, feet back to the floor? I don’t know much about this, but my instructor popped a rib once in class…yeah, It was quite the shock, when she reversed back down from a chopper, ab control is needed even when you are going down. if you slide down always, then I don’t know. ignore me. LOL!
Lately I’m sliding down and sometimes coming out of it and lowering myself down. I try not to jump out of it…although I can’t say that never happens.
Damn I didnt make my vid and now its 1130…..I would try now but I have to warm up a bit…..

Hey sissy! I went to the comp last year and would love to go again next year to cheer you on!!! YOu should have let me know you wanted that DVD, I have it and could’ve given you a copy. I have a ton of vids, so if you want any let me know. If you ever want to come over to dance or practice, just give me a shout!! I’m always too scared to perform so I could live vicariously through you!
Oh angel that would be so cool! I need all the help I can get. I want to see your vids!

Damn I missed this whole ordeal! I’m glad you got approved though.
I didn’t even bring up my pole to my housing people but then again I didn’t need help finding a joist. if I did and they gave me a hard time I would have went the planthook route like Veena said and put it up anyway LOL.
So is the pole up and ready to go?
