I've never experienced this negativity in studio, fortunately! However, when I watched the playback for my Ooh La La performance, I noticed some girl on the side laughing at me to her friend. It shouldn't bug me, especially because that performance was such a great experience for me, but it does.
I think our pole community spoils us into forgetting how unsupportive other women can be of each other.

That show is the best and your cupcakes look DIVINE! I like the spin and twirl touch at the end, toohttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif Best of luck!

hahahaha ah! omg! The longer I look at that picture the worse it gets. but i think it would be ok if that was the end result of doing one of those heel kicks to the floor that alethea does..

Hahaha https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif Sorry Veena 😛 I think all your dances are beautiful!

Oh, I also don't like the one-legged climb. It looks like a cheap stripper move to me. I have never seen it done where it looked pretty.

I like Genie as a transition move, but not a pose.

I wish all my pictures weren't webcam stills!

woosp got cut off.
2. I love that my body gets stronger every day
3. I love that pole has changed me from being shy in a one-peice on the beach to a sexy and confident booty short performer 🙂

1. I have frickin sexy calves
2. My stomach is starting to look strong
3. I have gorgeous eyes.

I am referring to notes in a book!

So I hear people on here talk about their pole journals all the time, but I'm never quite sure what that entails. I'd like to start one, but I'm not really sure what to write in it.
What's your journal like?

Hi Everyone, on my campus today we are promoting mental health awareness for Culture of Care week. Since you all have experience with mental illness and understand it's struggle, I'd really appreciate it if you could watch this video and "like" it (or even better, share it) to support our efforts in raising awareness and support.

I think Brass Monkey and Janiero are both unattrative. I'd still like to be able to do them, though.
Oh and I don't like teddy. I feel it just screams "look at my veejay!" (Though i'd also still love to be able to do it :P)

I fall all the frickin time. ALL THE TIME. I always have crash mats down for new moves, though, even if I've gotten them a couple times already.
The only one that scared me was a fall out of CAR. I thought I had mastered it so there was no padding underneath me. I'm not sure what happened but I slipped out of it: I was fortunately able to grab the pole behind my head, but it only slowed the fall a little bit. I tucked my head and landed on my shoulder. That promptly ended pole practice for the day, and CAR attempts for months. God, that hurt.

I also like to grab an apple or protein bar right before poling.

Poling does NOT equal lap dancing! People always seem to make that assumption. A guy friend of a friend saw me do a couple pole tricks and then developed this fantasy of me giving him a lapdance before… well you can imagine. And I laugh not just at the absurdity of the idea of screwing this guy, but also at the thought of me giving a lap dance. I wouldn't have the first idea of where to start!
-
if you slip and fall, and your first thought when you hit the ground is not "ouch" but "this better not interfere with my training"
-
I think I must have terrific friends! They are all quite supportive and humor me when I need to show them a new pole video I found or made. I have had a few people tell me, "Yea, it's not that hard." And that did irk me quite a bit. But I try to brush it off… they just don't know. Whatever, their loss.

Hahahahaha your poor cat

Nope, I've never had any complaints. I live on the first floor, so my less-graceful dismounts don't cause a problem, but I do like to blast my music while I dance. Maybe I just have really great neighbors, haha. Maintenance has also been in my apartment many times and walked right passed my pole, so I know management knows I have it. Haven't gotten any notices so everything is fine, I guess!
I think your neighbors will tolerate some clunking if you keep your practice to normal hours.

My studio has the main wall completely covered in mirrors, and then huge framed mirrors along the other wall. If I could pick one or the other, I would pick the plain mirrors because I think seeing myself is more important than making the studio look cute. You can see them here

Pankake– I agree, but it seems she's got a firm grasp with her hand, too.
