When you are new to pole and/or just learning a new move, your hands will tend to sweat a lot. This is due to being excited and not having complete control in your grip (too tight, too loose, incorrect hand placement…). As you become comfortable in your movements you should notice your sweatyness decrease. There are some people that no matter how long they have poled their hands are still super slippery. In the beginning I used multiple grip aids/hand deoderants but have found over time that I no longer need them unless I am working on something that I am not familiar/comfortable with. I would recommend making sure to wash your hands with a strong soap (I like Dawn) before practicing and then I use rubbing alcohol to clean the pole and my hands during my session. The less grip aids you use, the stronger your actual grip will be! If you do decide to use an aid there are plenty out there to try. I have tried mighty grip (hated it), rosin (felt too much like baby powder), sugar water (too sticky), hairspray, shave gel (great for behind knees or on elbows…but too slippery on hands), tite grip (deoderant for hands…my favorite by far) and gloves (didn’t like gloves at all…made my hands sweat like mad). You really need to try a bunch and then figure which is good for you! Good luck!

50 mm is the standard size that you will find in clubs and most studios (at least in the US). If you are planning on taking classes or working at a club, I would stick with the 50 mm. If you will only be doing this at home..then go with the 45mm if you have smaller hands. It will be much easier to go from a 50 mm to 45 mm pole than it will to go from 45 to 50. I have heard good things about the 45mm…but personally I love the 50! There are many people who have tiny hands that do just fine on the 50mm. I think it really all boils down to preference! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Stage mounted-spinny for me!!

Hot and outrageous, when you pole, you grab your audience’s attention. You are daring, saucy, and devilish, and your poling gets even nuns to start fantasizing about s*x. When you dance, your exotic side comes out to play, and everyone around you is delighted to come along for the ride!

As with anything…it’s practice practice practice….I have found that the more controlled your moves are the easier it is to maintain your spin speed…you also don’t need to swing into anything as you will spin naturally.

Hey girl! glad you posted! sometimes it’s best to leave a move when you become too frustrated. It would definitely be easier to help you if I could see what’s going on!:) Come up sunday!!
