Also be sure to be doing your spins on both sides….you will be amazed at home much stronger you become just from doing spins in the opposite direction. Climbs are great for upperbody strength and stamina. If you have the pole sit down..they you could work on other poses from the pole sit. Cross knee release is a good one…I recommend starting that one from the floor though. What about fan kicks, sm prances (great for the triceps and abs), handstands/elbowstands? There are a TON of moves you can do with out inverting!

I have a chrome x-pole and use alcohol all the time on it…never experienced anything like what you are describing! Where did you order your pole?

A lot of times people think that it’s the flexibility in their back when it could be attributed to flexibility of the calf and hamstring muscles…especially for a sitting stretch. My first thought was that you couldn’t bend all the way over because your calf/hanstring muscles don’t have enough flexibility in them…not necesarily your back flexibility. When you stretch you have to do more than one area and of course it is better to do your whole body…flexibility is a mix of both stretch and strength. So when stretching your back (bending forward and backwards) I recommend also stretching abs, hip flexors, hamstrings, calfs and quads. Back bends can be dificult if you don’t have the flexibility yet…but they are great for the back. same for torso twists, seated stretches, standing stretches…just remember that flexibility does not happen over night…and to get to your true potential you should stretch everyday. It should not hurt, but it should be slightly uncomfortable. Oh..and if you stretch one muscle group…remember to stretch the opposite muscle group as well. for example..if you are stretching your hamstrings, you need to also stretch your quads. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I was going to try doing more of a tutorial…but it’s kind of hard to hold that position when your not spinning!:) So I figured i’d post what I had and then help more if needed. It’s tricky at first especially when you are trying to put your foot down and then spin off of the pole at the same time…I still bang my knee sometimes!:)

Just a piece of advice on rubbing alcohol…it is a solvent therefore it breaks down oils/salts..which is why I like it so much for cleaning the pole and my hands. It WILL NOT help control sweat…it just helps remove the oils/salts and evaporates quickly.

You have to be careful when purchasing rubbing alcohol as some manufacturers use oil in the manufacturing process….which could cause an oily film on your pole. Usually if it’s colored it has oil in it..but even some of the clear ones do…so make sure in the ingredients it ONLY lists isopropyl alchol (rubbing alcohol) and water!

Foxy..I agree with tite grip..it’s great for keeping sweet at bay.

Mighty grip is a thermoplastic…not a hand deoderant…so it won’t help with sweat. It melts due to your body heat and is supposed to become tacky…this is my least favorite product!

ahhh..I didn’t post a vid..because all the ones that I have don’t show my feet…you can see the spin, but when I turn out of it you don’t see the floor! I’m hoping to practice tomorrow..so I’ll make sure to get a clip of it…feet and all!!
