    I purchased Hammacher Schlemmer http://www.hammacher.com/Product/77310?promo=search&query=77310&PID=4018641&source=cj

to massage my tight forearm muscles due to having cubital tunnel syndrome, and I also love this item http://flextend.com/symptomscubitaltunnel.html to help simultaneously strengthen and lenghten my short and tight forearm muscles.,…and I swear by it.  My condition is far too advanced to heal on its own, so I'll need surgery.  However, my husband began experiencing carpal tunnel syndrome due to typing and began using these products and now he's all good.  Good luck, and don't let the condition worsen.  Rest more days in between poling.  I've been really busy with getting certified as a Pilates instructor, and haven't had much time to invest in Poling, but I'm glad I've given my arms lots of rest.  Every now and then I get an itch for it and do manage to put some time into it, but I pay close attention to how my arms feel and take at least a couple days of rest in between.

@peaceloveblonde…funny thing is that I was looking back at my old practice videos and noticed I would constantly shake my hands to relieve tension/tightness in my forearm muscles. I think it’s important to identify any pain you’re having and linking it to what you’ve been doing, so you can avoid any pitfalls. If you’re feeling pain in your arm lay low for a while, do research on the beneficial stretches, definitely see an orthopaedic surgeon (as azzwoo adviced) and take it from there. @azzwoo…going to try out the icing and the NSAIDs the orthopaedic surgeon prescribed that I’ve been avoiding to take. I don’t feel any pain unless I try to internally rotate my forearm. The pain is at the outside of my wrist. I don’t feel any numbness in the pinky and half of ring finger though. At times some burning pain around the elbow. The stretches I’ve been doing does help some. But the healing process at the wrist is taking so long.

@mrsfloppyears…thank you for the advice! I’ve been considering that, but never knew that massage therapists actually specialize in certain areas. So good to know!! I’m definitely going to locate one in the area.
@svarri…glad to know massage therapy really works wonders!

Here’s my final upload on the December Challenge. Sorry I uploaded the video like a million times! Please post your comments in this most recent upload. I was just trying to get the same video quality as most everyone else’s videos on this site.
I’ve tried various compression file uploads 34, 45, 60, 70 before finally realizing that I no longer have to compress the file for it to upload without errors https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
So I just uploaded my original 76 MB movie and it looks just right!!!

So I tried that and still the changes I made do not show. Before the website format changed I was able to edit my descriptions using an edit link but now that edit link is not available. I wonder if it’s the way I’m going about editing. I have found the only way to do it is by going into the Upload Video link and instead of uploading a video I go into the edit tools icon for whichever video description or title I want to change.

Perhaps there is a different way that I am not aware of?

Thanks Veena, I’ll check out the link you provided! I hope I have enough time to prepare for this. I’ve been a bit under the weather these days and am trying to regain my energy.

For the amateur, can anyone tell me what a 1 half spin is? Also, what’s an example of a pose done on the floor?

I might do this one. I’m not sure I understand what a 1 half spin is?

I received mine just last week. I contacted her around the 6th week after ordering and she quickly responded. She was very polite in her email and explained the situation. It took about 9 weeks to receive it but I got it. If you’ve ordered it and are still waiting, I would give her a chance and not cancel your order just yet.

I love this idea too! It’ll help me with that extra boost I need to move on. I feel like I just keep working on the same spins over and over again.

Hola boricua…good to hear from someone in Puerta Rico. Que parte? While I was born and raised in Chicago my parents are both from Puerto Rico. My dad is from Fajardo and my mom from Castaner. Welcome to Studio Veena! I spent a week vacation in this gorgeous little island back in 2004. Whenever I go back I’ll let you know.

July 30, 2009 at 3:28 pm in reply to: A QUESTION ABOUT VIDEOS

I had the same problem and I went into chat room one night hoping someone could help me with it. Luckily, I found JayFo online and she was so helpful. I have WMM too, the file was too large so all I had to do was compress it to about 38. How to do this? When you’re complete with editing your video you need to click into "Publish Movie" and then select "This computer" for the "Where do you want to publish your movie" question in the next step. Then click on next and browse to the file directory you’d like to save it under. I always save it under "video." Click next, and this is where you compress the file. You should now be in the "Choose the settings for your movie" which allows you to determine the quality and file size of your video. Click the second bullet point titled "Compress to:" and decrease the file size to 38, I’ve never tried anything larger than that since JayFo mentioned her files were all about that size and they’ve downloaded just fine. Make sure you select the file that is in wmv format. For example, "filename.wmv" …not the file in the mswmm format, such as "filename.mswmm"…I hope this helps https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Yeh, glitterhips, at last I’ve found someone here from Chicago https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif ! Would you be interested in joining the group? I just opened the meetup group yesterday, so you’ll be the first to join if you are interested. Don’t despair, I’m sure there will be more joining! This isn’t the only meetup group I organize, so I know it may take a couple months to get the group size we need…but it will happen. Do you know of any other Studio Veena members from Chicago?

I started a pole dancing group at meetup.com for all chicago ladies (18 and over) who are enthusiastic about pole dancing for either fun or fitness. I haven’t been fortunate to meet any girls who enjoy the pole as much as some of us here on Studio Veena. So if there is anyone out there from Chicago, please look up the group…once you get into meetup.com run a search for "Chicago Ladies Pole Dance 4 Fun & Fitness." All you need to do is request for membership. I would love to meet all the Chicago ladies who are members to this wonderful website!

    Hi Perrylilac-

I’m glad you could join us. I re-read your comment in this thread and noticed that I misunderstood it the first time I read it. So if you read the first message I added to this thread then disregard it. I thought you didn’t have a way of recording your videos, but you actually do as you’ve already posted your first video https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif That’s great!!! You move so beautifully and you are already ahead. Keep up the good work!!!

Cream, good to hear you did well on your finals. When I was in college, getting good grades was my priority! I’m a perfectionist and wanted nothing but A’s. I went to night school for a few years before I got married and completed my bachelors attending full time. Now I have 2 little ones and have to wait until they are both in kindergarten to go back to school. In the mean time this is my hobby along with photography. Congratulations on your well earned grades! Now you can have some fun with the rest of us!!!
