I think it depends on what part of the world you are from. I have seen stuff like a Carousel being called a Frog… or the Chair as I know it is called the Carousel. LOL… I think most of us are aware of the differences in names and the fact that we are from all over the globe. You won’t get yelled at here. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Some things are standard but I don’t understand why there isn’t a standard name for everything in pole dance. It is not like in ice skating… You would never hear a Triple Axel be called a Thrice Weezel, you know?

If you feel uncomfortable with inverting on your weaker side maybe you could look into getting a spotter or a pole buddy to help? Maybe lots of pillows and cushions below too? Other than that it is very important to practice both sides. Can you imagine being all buff and flexible only on one side? Not a good look. LOL

Check out the Vertical Dance website because there are 3 PDF files with pictures & names… They are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I have them saved on my computer so I can pull them up whenever.

They got rid of their X-Poles!??!?! I would have dumpster dived for those! X-Poles are used by professionals and in many pole dance competitions. Sounds like they didn’t install it properly at the party…

Hoddskaon YouTube combines her love of hooping and pole dance in her vids… maybe not at the same time but she posts vids of both.

It must be a really good workout… good for toning. Especially when you get a hoop with weights in it.

Oh yeah, it’s not the fact that the kids are goofing off on the pole but that they are doing it at a pre-show party… in a club…

I did silly stuff like put on a whole ton of make-up and wear a little crop top and say, "I’m a hoookkerrrr!" with like a deep Polish accent… BUT I DID IT HOME! lol And I didn’t really know the impact or meaning of a lot of words until I was older. So yeah… *loooks away*

    Sort of like on YouTube…
    1 star=bad
    5 stars = super good…

+ on a comment means you agree with it
    – means it was rude or you don’t agree

OMGosh Amcut those bellydancers can be so snobby. They have their own little dancing clique and I’m so not into that stuff. Even in HS I was the girl going, "Can’t we all get along?" I mean, they are working to get rid of stereotypes and myths but so are we! Why can’t be band together and be sisters/brothers in arms? I just didn’t like the whole "My sexy dance is cleaner or better or more authentic than your sexy dance". https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif Oh and one lady was like, "I wouldn’t mix bellydance with your pole dance." And I just thought…. "Beeetch, I’ll do what the faaack I want!" Bellydance didn’t actually start in brothels, it was a private dance that girls shared with each other. Probably once the Europeans found out about bellydance they wanted to see it and the only place women could do that was in brothels. Isn’t that sort of like many forms of dance though? They start out in the streets or in speak-easies but they climb their way up in society? Sheesh… Let it go! Love love love!
