^^ Great advice from the ladies. I will also add that poles like jeans are best "broke in".  Def steam it or at least a good cleaning, but also know that the more use it gets the better!

Going to do day 2 today. I need a "rest day" today and did day 1 Monday… Yes I am missing days in the first week but I am going to get back on track. 🙂

In these holds the bottom arm/wrist should be taking very little weight. It is used to hold you away from the pole not up in the air. Concentrate on bringing your top shoulder back and down and taking the weight there. Try holding your bottom hand thumbs up is a tip I have often seen. 🙂

Here is a video another member posted. It was her first time so maybe message her and see if she has since learned more 🙂

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif Surpised to hear some of these, I have rarely heard negative feedback on their cs. Wonder if something has changed because most of this seems recent…

I am amazed she got back on it.. or you Charley. You could tell she already knew what had happened meaning it likely wasn't the 1st time.

Shona I distinctly remember the burning abs and utter exhaustion of building up to deadlifting this. It gets better I promise!!

For a better idea what I am saying, I am talking I was 50 lbs heavier.

ha I should explain better. Not weight as in lbs, but I got quite… fluffy and the straps would dig in because as chem said they are like back pack straps. When I was firm..er prior to that is was all good 😉

RoseMay I would consider being able to consistently lift into the sm with no kick OR momentum a deadlift. For me personally I could do it with straight legs before I could aerial sm. It took quite a while after I could lift the sm for me to pull an aerial version even semi consistently. It is a tough move!

I have a swing but put it away when I gained weight. For me when I was larger it was really not comfortable… period. Hmmmm maybe I should get it back out 😉

Just MY opinion, but I suggest being able to deadlift the sm from the floor before moving it aerial. 🙂

I am going to join in the fun 🙂 Been babying a bruised elbow/forearm, stupid remodeling… Always a good time to do a refresher. I need structure to make me revisit the basics and I def need to. Everyone knows it is tough to keep up with all the stuff you want and my basics are rusty. Being able to iron x is not too impressive if everything else, the bulk of the dance, is sloppy. I have already been working on my goal of opposite sides.. but need to get on the next one… back to basics! With this system I may actually keep on track. Thanks Veena, wish me luck! *excited*

Also SW you are a beautiful dancer and I was very impressed that you put that routine together! My advice.. you have your own pole…. SHOW him what stripping is https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif . He will not question routines like this ever again.

dd- I know a hella lot of strippers, been to many clubs… never seen that sh*t. Talk about ultimate stripper trick! If I were a stripper and could do that I would barely bother dancing let alone pole tricks. Just hit that stage and Boom bounce it, crawl to opposite side of stage~ repeat. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I would go to the dr. Find out for sure and take the proper steps to heal up. We polers are notorious for making things worse!

Not every move has to be done on both sides, this may be that one for you. It is possible you may have injured your ribs. To me having a bad side allegra is not worth that type of pain. 🙂

Check out this video! It is Veena's new 30 day take off and it is pretty awesome. This is a great way to get started at home. Also Veena has stretching lessons and even routines to get your front or middle splits. In addition there are stregnth, conditioning, hoop, lapdance, and of course POLE lessons. She breaks everything down and has a very safety oriented instruction. Honestly for the price it is unbeatable. Veena is also always willing to answer questions and help in any way she can.

Girl I am a lazy poler too.. I do pole a lot but that is mainly due to making a commitment to others to skype. I know I would not drag myself into the pole room nearly as much left to my own devices. Winter is especially hard, you were still pretty new last year so the euphoria carried you through! It is typical though that  sometimes you will just not be as into it, life happens. It bothered me a lot more at first. Now I know to ride it out the urge will return and it is on again!
