Thanks Veena, I love all your brass monkey variations! I’m a little scared since pulling myself up from a brass monkey, I pulled my shoulder through and lost grip on my hooked leg and fell off the pole in a big heap on the floor. No injuries but I can’t get my head around doing it again!
I really want to include my elbow grip ayesha though, so maybe instead of going to brass monkey, I was wondering if i could try jasmine to dragon’s tail.
Baby Dragon, I was thinking Janeiro would look amazing too, but mine is still a little hit and miss and my exit from it is shocking! Remi sit hurts like a MF so I just don’t do it as I’m a wimp!
I’ve never tried a drop out of anything, but I love the gasp that comes from the audience so I was thinking of doing a drop into splits. Just need to work out how high I dare go.
Oh my God, what have a done! My hand sweat just thinking about it! -
Wow, thank you! You have done this before. What a fantastic list!

Thanks for your reply Veena! I found that lesson incredibly helpful. You’re right, I should just enjoy it and not stress. I’m doing this for me, it’s something I set myself to do before I’m 40!

Jade question to all…..once you are flat and happy with your hold, do you just remove the bottom bum holding hand and use it to pull your leg further? I would like to take my Jade up a level to become no handed!

Well if they don’t have 40mm PC poles in your neck of the woods, they certainly won’t in mine! Brass it is. It is smelly but I just don’t stick to Crome and my TG has all rubbed off and is stripy now. Any tips for using brass?
-
I wish I knew when they will be available in the UK. I have decided to buy a 40 mm and can’t decide on brass or PC. I recently started doing a bit of pole hire in a studio just for the height of the pole and after trying a 40 mm, I’m hooked!

Did you get your pole Veena?
-
I’m doing the challenge and really enjoying it!

I’m LM_gregory Didn’t used to put so much pole stuff on there but have been trying to keep up with #septpolejunkies.

Are they open to public sales? OOhh do let us know what it’s like…..what colour did you go for? Why do I have a star next to my name??

Thanks for your reply, very interesting to hear first hand experience! The other health benefits are interesting, apparently there was a panorama programme which went into this in great detail which I should try and find. I work in operating theatre so work alongside surgeons and anaesthetists and have been surprised by how many are on it (generally on days off), which I also find credible. What have I got to loose right?

Thanks Lina, I think you are right with the overuse, as I can only do it one side. I do have a video entitled ‘brass monkey’ on here. I agree with my friend re my lack of abs engagement as I tend to over flex my lower back and forget my abs. I guess the three kids hasn’t helped in that dept.

You are lucky to have one to ones with one if the best teachers around! Look forward to the first video :-))

Am tempted to flood my kitchen and try it ‘pour it up’ style!

Hmmmm, I know if you take pain relief and coffee together it helps the pain relief work faster and more efficiently but I never heard of caffeine heightening pain. Maybe it does something to pain receptors in some way, who knows? But I can say I too find scorpio very painful, so much so I don’t do it very often which is annoying as I’m working on Allegra. Ouchhhh

What a fab idea….. Although I still haven’t got around to recording the Feb challenge. Argh

If all uk UK dancers shipped in bulk would it reduce the price for us? I have noticed a few interested from the UK? I would be happy to receive them all and courier them out to UK addresses? I could be your UK agent! lol

Goodness me! I would black out going that fast. I found her dance really aggressive but her skills were amazing. Not personally what I enjoy watching.

Will do! I have decided that 2014 will be my year of conditioning and flexi. I have your lessons, love the pole strength routine, and other recommendations to achieve a solid SG?
-
I didn’t have any issues with it and have only been playing around with it for the last month, so hopefully I have done no harm. I’m naturally quite flexible so hopefully this has worked in my favour. I mastered the elbow grip Ayesha and had in my head I must progress onto split grip, and like I said it just wouldn’t happen. So I was so happy to find that the TG made it all fall into place. I think I need to go back to elbow grip and explore that further, like training for the straight edge and fang etc. I’ve only been poling a year, there is no hurry. I’ll impress you with a true grip yet Veena!

Thanks for all your input, I appreciate you taking time to reply. It seems to be a hot topic, and one I can’t ignore seeing as the majority are telling me it could be harmful. I shall go back to working on my SG Ayesha now I know I can hold the TG easily, it has given me confidence in myself. I won’t be submitting my jan challenge though….. It was TG handspring! Thanks veenas!

I really love my tattoo but my husband hates them, so mine is on my lower back, kind of kidney area so you only see it if I’m on the beach in a bikini. I have my children’s birth flowers, a daisy, rose and carnation. Think about it for a year would be my advice and research artists. They all have their own style and strengths. My artist just does flowers and she has a degree in fine art, so I knew she was the one!
