OMG, I am SOOOO relieved I am not the only one!!! I can totally see that happening with the shoe distraction – your all busy looking at your shoe and surveying the damage and BAM – but your fall sounds a lot worse than mine. Ouch!!
I don't think I did any substantial damage – it turned purple almost instantly that day, but already it's back to normal color (and this was just yesterday). The swelling is gone and you can only tell it's lumpy if you run your fingers across it.
Of all the times to NOT tape my practices!!!! Go figure!!

If it would be a permanent mount, these are very reasonably priced:

It's an older, techno style song, but with the girl moaning, it's pretty hawt. Althought the back beat is a bit faster, the vocal overlay gives you the ability to play with it slowly.

Shell – It's in this thread. Amy has two responses in here, the info on stacking weight is in the second response. There's also some other great info in there too, but here's the part about stacking weight:
"-when you are in aysha, make sure that you have a slightly rounded back (this is called hollow body in aerial arts: pantera didn't refer to it this way but this is a description–https://www.studioveena.com/outbound_links/t/?l=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ehow.com%2Fhow_2210492_do-holl … mnast.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and a pic is here:https://www.studioveena.com/outbound_links/t/?l=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.americanparkour.com%2Fimages%2Fa … wrock1.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). dont stick your butt or chest out. this also allows your body weight to stack smoothly through your body/spine and transfer straight into your arm. i am used to sticking my butt out, since i started with the forearm grip aysha and in that one, you stick your butt out to counterbalance your legs and get your crotch away from the pole."
I couldn't get the links to open, so I'm still kinda clueless about the hollow body part. I did my first one more like your too – close to the pole, legs up instead of straddled : P This time around I'm going to concentrate on rolling my back and tucking out into the straddle – kinda how you tuck into an invert to get to the chopper. Hopefully that'll get me closer to the pic. And yes, the back flipping off the pole thing scares me too, I think that is part of the hesitiation of getting my legs where they need to be.
One other part I am still fuzzy on is that bottom arm – you don't want that to be locked straight, right? You want to keep a slight bend? Is that the rule of thumb for all moves – never lock your arm?

I finally got this a few days ago and I am paying for it today. Wishing I would have saw Amy's post about how to stack your weight because I apparently did not and my back is not happy about it.
Going back to read, and re-read (ten times or so LOL) so I don't make that mistake again. Holding your weight is a great accomplishment, but if your not holding it correctly, it hurts.

MemberFebruary 19, 2011 at 8:02 am in reply to: Random Question about Sarah Cretul & USPDF VidsLove the responses, I like learning about the dancers I enjoy. I love knowing peoples "stories" – where they came from, what started them out, how they learned, their trials and tribulations, etc. She does have this uninterested air about her during her performances, but I like that, it's part of her charm I think. It seems like her and pole were meant for each other, and I see why she has this "what, it's not hard" attitude, everything seems so simple to her – very natural and effortless. It's unfortunate that she's falling away from pole, but, so be it, everyone has to do what makes them happy I suppose.
As for USPDF and vids, I don't get that either. Once a comp is over, they should have some means of airing the competition (DVD sales, or just via the internet). It would serve as a good way to bring and keep interest in the event. I still feel incomplete not having seen Alethea's handcuff performance. And, why oh why can't they find a way to put this on TV?!! I mean really, they televise golf and not pole dancing!!! C'mon!!
I would love to see Wikipole have a section about the women in the sport and their stories. They have a link under navigation that displays a random page and it just happened to pop up a bio on Jenyne Butterfly. I never realized that she took a job as a cocktail waitress at a club in order to pay for school (and it just so happened that was the same club that Pantera worked at)! And that was how she became interested and involved in the pole world – such cool little facts!! But, I can't figure out how to navigate back to that – it just was the random page that popped up at that time. We totally need a TMZ for pole dancers : )
Thanks for sharing your info and links!!

Too bad Vertical Pole Challenge never aired, it looked awesome!!
USPDF website has a few highlight reels, but I'd love to go back and see the whole competitions from the previous years. Oh well, I guess I'll just keep youtubing it to get my fix https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Amy, thanks for the bad news LOL, but I know it's 100% right (although it feels sooo wrong).
The leg hangs are probably the worst – hanging with my shorter, weaker leg feels so unsecure and it's hard to adjust my torso in the right position cause the whole body alignment is different for that side – the whole thing is just an akward mess – and all the points of contact get screwy too. Climbing left – it feels like there are weights strapped to my butt – that one makes me sweat (woo-hoo cardio!).
Chem – yup, I'm a goofy mess LOL It's not noticible unless you really stand there and look and compare – probably the most noticible in my legs (and of course I always failed those scolosis screenings in school). Pole . . easy . . . hah!! I miss you too girl!!
Good to know left side isn't unobtainable, just a pain in the butt.

Shako, I'm hesitant to use that one because you have to convert it on their website and I don't want my pole videos ending up in cyber space for everyone to see. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
Jenn, I tried that one also and the end result was a very choppy video. What file type to you convert to? I did AVI, maybe I'm using the wrong output type?

Bartending and cocktail waitressing are great quick cash options to hold you over.
Good luck!
