Hi, I’m new to these forums here and I I have a question about the pole kits from Markstaar. I’ve heard some good things about them but I’m a little cautious because this isn’t something the company specializes in. It looks like poles are just a small part of their business. Does anyone hear have any experience with them? How are their performance and durability?

I’m more or less a beginner at pole dancing, I’ve taken a few classes but am actually in a student exchange program right now and haven’t been able to practice in forever. At my old studio there were 2 types of poles, the 45 and 50mm, and I’m not sure in what material. They were silver in color. I found them usually more slippery than I’d like and the 50mm was much more comfortable for me at least (most of the other students seemed to feel the opposite). I’m going to be moving back home at the end of the year and I was originally going to get a titanium gold X pole but I’m having a bit of a money issue right now. The much cheaper price tag of Markstaar is appealing and I was thinking about getting a stainless from them (the ceilings here are 8") for the time being and then later getting the gold x pole. We own the house so permanent installation isn’t an issue.

If anyone has any thoughts/advice I’d very much appreciate it. I know a lot of people have had problems with cheap poles but I’m just wondering if markstaar would be good enough for me until I have a little more $.

    thanks!

There isn’t a ton of info about this pole, but here are a few links to previous threads:

It was also mentioned in a few other posts. If you go to "Dance Poles" and use the search bar at the top of the forum page, you can type in Markstaar and pull up some additional info.

In case anyone searches for this thread in the future I wanted to let people know I did purchase a Markstaar and reviewed it on my blog and made an installation video.  It's fine but I would not recommend it for most people.  http://ascendingslowly.wordpress.com/2012/07/21/does-markstaar-make-a-good-dance-pole/
