Welcome to SV! Surprisingly, Michigan is a great place for pole lovers! There are a lot of studios, events and REALLY awesome pole dancers! We are so lucky https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

The sole has peeled off every pair of Pleasers I have, starting at the toe. Agree it doesn't matter what the cost, happens whether $-$$$. I've tried gluing but it's only temporary. The boots I bought ripped across the top of the foot on the 5th wear. I pole twice a week, and a pair of shoes seems to only last a few months, tops. I'm at a loss of what to do, I was thinking of taking them to a shoe repair but can't imagine the looks I'll get walking in with 6 pairs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif

Anyone want my ticket to the Bendabitlity workshop Saturday morning? I have some things going on that day and won't be able to make it to the show until later. Would love to give it to someone who could use it! 🙂

I purchased a similar pair and wore them to class last week. I like that they are easy to put on, but they are hot and they took a bit of getting used to as I normally wear 6"ers with an ankle strap. I already scratched up the toes from floor work, but I still really like them and plan to wear them again. My strategy was to try out a less expensive pair…I could always wear them elsewhere if they didn't work on the pole, but so far so good:

I'm a fan, I use it every session. Just a little bit on my palms, and on my inner thighs if I'll be doing any holds. I sweat in these areas, the Mighty Grip helps this. I generally only have to apply once, so it lasts a long time too. Hope that helps!

Very cute items!! I like the hot pink twisted lace back bandeau, although I'd have to try it to make sure I don't fall out (I don't think anyone at the studio would mind ;P) as well as the Ballerina top even though I'm not a big fan of yellow. The cheeky shorts look llike a must have, a cross between fold over yoga and tie side shorts…definately makes my wish list!

Oh yes I remember that! I felt so bad for him, I could have easily done that myself ;P Looking forward to seeing you again this year… 🙂

I think this is a great idea! I am guilty of this too, Lyme, you and I were in Alethea's workshop and I recognized you from the forum but didn't introduce myself (because I'm a dork and I was overwhelmed with the awesomeness of it all!). I would buy one, this would ensure we spot each other and say hello!!

I keep shoes, leg warmers, a microfiber towel, different grip aids, foot undies, an Ace bandage (I have pre-existing knee issues), a notebook, deoderant and band aids. I used to keep face wipes til I used them all…and I always pack a water bottle. Yoga pants are good too for keeping warm while stretching after, if you didn't wear them there. In my opinion, it's better to be prepared!

I have foot undies and really like them when dancing barefoot. They are also handy for stretched out shoes, wearing the undies helps fill the space and give you a tighter fit.

I second arnica, it certainly reduces healing time of bruises. However, over time, I've accepted that if I'm working this hard it comes with the territory 😉

I have to say, even though Mika is expensive, I've had mine for 2 years and have worn and washed them several times a week. They still look brand new, haven't stretched, pilled, worn, nothing! They definately last 🙂

I had silver chrome and wore it off, it's like white plastic underneath. They look ok in low light, but to fix them I just glittered them 😉

@Traci-I made your smoothie, I was missing the ginger (which is on my shopping list as I'm sure it would be amazing!) and was pleasantly surprised by the texture of the sweet potato. It was so velvety….love it when good for you food is delicious!!

I'm 5'11" and the only issue I have is I can't wear heels when poling at home because I'm afraid to hit the ceiling ; P Other than that, I have not had any difficulties. I'm sure there's something that challenges every body size/shape, but don't let the fear hold you back! If anything, our long legs make our moves look more dramatic!

  • After more than a year I talked my mom into going to a class with me. She had every excuse in the book…I'm too old/I don't even work out now/my shoulder this/my back that. I told her she could do as much or as little as she wanted, just don't do it if it's not comfortable. She ended up falling in love with pole! I think it also helped that I bought her a pair of Pleaser's, I think that sealed the deal ; )

I'm a big fan of Vixen http://vixenfitness.com/ and have been going for the last year and a half. The ladies there are great and very talented! There are other studios around that I've heard good things about, I just haven't had a chance to check them out. But you definately shouldn't have a problem finding something!

I have the Olay Pro-X and love it! It has made a big difference in my overall skin quality and texture. I have not tried the Clarisonic, but from what I've read they are comparable in results (but better $!).

I am also interested in Latisse, and have done a bit of research to determine if there was a comparable, less expensive option, but couldn't find any. Now that I hear that results can be maintained with fewer applications, it may be more affordable than I thought!

And I'm definitely interested in your epi results, I hate shaving! Thanks for sharing 🙂
