Oh, how did the old adjuster cover stay on then? I have to say I haven’t had any problems at all with it. Only that a couple of times I forgot to tighten it fully and it rattled when i hit off it, but it seems fine to me so far. My X joints look a bit rounded though, which is bad. I’m afraid I may have done it when I first put it up, as it’s quite difficult to get the hex key all the way into the x joints to tighten them. Sorry i’m probably totally confusing you!

the old adjuster just clicked over two pins at each side, which meant it was dangerous to grip it. so most people didnt use the adjuster cover for more useable pole including me. I understand where your coming from totally, iv had quite a few experiences with the screws in the past. its just getting to know how much to tighten them. they need to be tight but not too tight if that makes any sense. What was the box like? was the pole in just an ordinary cardboard box? .. would you be able to take piccies of it for me please? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif like of the top part of the pole including dome? thankss https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

When did you order yours? because I got mine very quickly, which was great, especially in the snow! The 180mm x joint is only used if you need the 125mm extension, which I did. I was king of stuck because my ceiling is within the 125mm extension height bracket, but when we put it up, the adjuster screw was just over 5 inches, but the bigger extension wouldn’t fit! So I called them and they said up to 6 inches is okay, they just leave extra safety margin. Oh and sorry the 200mm x joint is used to connect a and b poles and also to connect the bigger extension if you need it.
i have to wait for mine as i need the 45mm. As they are out of stock at the moment, i had to preorder it so they should be back in in 2 weeks. Im dying to pole lol. oh right great thats the same as me then, i use the 125mm extension too. did you have trouble with the adjuster cover at all? as they say that can get cross threaded? as its screw threaded the adjuster cover as on the old x pole the adjuster cover wasnt threaded.

Oh yeah I saw where it said it’s mandatory, I thought that was kind of funny… very authoritive! I thought that was just the first time you assemble it, like to figure out how to do it. Anyway I managed to put it up myself, yeah it was pretty heavy, but it was actually easy enough to do. Although i spent ages twisting the pole, trying to make it longer, after about 5 mins, I was wondering why it was taking so long… then I went down to the bottom, realised I had left it in spinning mode! So I was there turning the pole for no reason!! Haha that was funny… classic amateur mistake!

lol!! bless! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif … i cant wait until mine comes https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif lol just got to wait for new stock to arrive https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif i pre ordered it and paid for it so i should have it a few days after there back in stock. So do you just assemble the pieces on the floor then lift it up to the ceiling? also, you get two 200mm x-joints aswell as a 180mm xjoint, do you use the 200mm to connect A and B pole together? im a little confused haha!

This is my first pole, so I can’t really compare it to any others, sorry! Although as far as I know they deliberately made the base a lot smaller. I got the 50mm. I noticed rust on the inside of the pole while taking it down yesterday, is that normal do you know? Have to try put it up by myself today.. that’s gonna be fun https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

That’s good! I love the new look of the smaller base. It’s totally normal rust being on the inside. On the older x-poles, there was rust a little too inside the tubes. Just don’t leave your pole in a shed or in a car boot – anywhere where it can get really cold and damp. If you normally take your pole down alot, I’d place it underneath your bed or something like that. That way its very unlikely for it to get rusty. Be careful when you try and put it up by yourself, in the instruction manual it says its mandatory that 2 people min assemble the xpert. this made me think that the xpert is alot heavier than the old x-pole – it might be it might not be, but when i use to assemble the old xpole – i use to do that on my own too and that was heavy lol.

Photo 101.jpgPhoto 101.jpgOkay see the line just above the static/spinning screws, that’s where it was becoming loose when I spun anti clockwise. It’s not doing it anymore so I must have tightened it better.

(Those pics are exactly the same btw, it’s not spot the difference, lol, dont know why 2 uploaded!)

oohhhhh i seeee lol! the microbase looks great. i hated the big base on the old xpole. is it still as big or alot smaller? yeah that happened to me with the old x pole. i hadnt tightened it enough and it was spinning in static. so i went up the ladders and tightened it and it didnt do it lol. so what is the xpert like then? do you prefer it to the old x pole ? cant remember whether you said you had a 50mm or 45mm? im excited to get mine lol i havent poled in around a month lol its killing me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif haha

thanks for that do you mean when you put the A pole onto the base shaft? or do you mean the static / spinning screws should be tightened up really tight?

To be honest, i’m not sure exactly how to say it, but it’s not involving the the spinning/static screws as it moved even though they were totally tight. It’s between the A pole and the base bit, yeah. I can try post a pic if you want, but you probably know what i mean, or at least you will! So if you make sure its really tight before you put it up, will save you having to do it again https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif You probably would have known that anyway, but i’m totally new to poles so I didn’t https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

i think i know which part you mean, the adjuster rod? .. or when you put the A pole on the base it has to be placed on the two ‘Flats’ on the base. When i say ‘flats’ I mean the two flat parts of metal on the base shaft where when in static – the two spinning/insert screws are on these two flat sections in order to keep the pole static. If you could post a pic, that would be great https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I have the instruction manual for the xpert so i keep reading it just to make sure I am familiar with x pert parts when assembling it. Im going to get use to the XJoints before putting it up so I am completely sure on what Im doing lol. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

(When you get it make sure the joint/screwy bit just obove the spinny screws is screwed on properly. When i span anticlockwise, my pole spun a bit (in static mode). Apparently it’s because this bit wasn’t tight enough, something that should be done when its being packaged, but isn’t.)

thanks for that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif do you mean when you put the A pole onto the base shaft? or do you mean the static / spinning screws should be tightened up really tight?

So I got my conversion kit yesterday. Mine came with no instructions, so I had to e-mail Kimara at X-Pole US to find out how to get started. Then it took about an hour of twisting and unscrewing and rescrewing and hoping I wasn’t doing permanent damage to my pole to get it up. The upgrade section replaces Main Pole A and (depending on your model X-Pole) the little spinny base section. You also no longer need the large spanner (wrench) in the tool case either. The upgrade goes directly onto the main base and attaches just like the old piece. The screws on the bottom are still how you change between static and spin mode too. Main Pole B then screws on top of the upgrade section. Any extensions then go on top of that. There’s now a little adapter piece with a peg that fits into the upper dome that screws on top of the extension. The dome goes on that. Now, in order to adjust the height and snug the pole to the ceiling, there’s an adjuster cover near the bottom of the upgrade section that screws into place. That gets unscrewed and then there are three screws on the pole that you loosen with the hex key. This allows the pole to screw to adjust. Once the dome is flat and the pole secure, turn the pole so that the three screws line up with the flat spots on the adjuster and tighten them down. This keeps the pole from unscrewing while dancing on it. Then slide up the adjuster cover, screw into place and start dancing. Now that I know where everything is and what goes where, I imagine next time set-up will go much easier. One thing I noticed was to be very sure that the dome is flat and tight against the ceiling. It’s harder to tell now that it’s no longer eye-level. Also, I still needed a step-stool to put the extension on top, but the little kitchen one was quite high enough, so no need to dig out the ladder.

Thanks for the description! Is there any way you can post some pictures? I am having a hard time visualizing all of this! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Awww i can imagine how you feel. I had my 50mm for a year before i bought a 45mm, & i notice a HUGE difference. After playing on my 45 for a while, my 50 seems so hard to grip, even though i’ve had it for a year! So i can imnagine how hard it must be for you, having to switch from 45 to 50. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

But really, it’s all a matter of what you get used to.. keep practicing on it no matter how hard it is at first. And your grip will get even stronger than it did with the 45! I have small hands too, & before i got my 45, i was totally fine with the 50. But if you see that it’s still straining you after a while, can you sell the 50 & buy another 45?

i just love the 45mm grip, iv just found a spare part from my 45mm and i love how snug my hand fits around it. and my hand doesnt go fully around a 50mm. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif the bfs gonna kill me lol as iv only really just bought this 50mm and i sold my 45mm on his ebay account and hes gonnaa go mad lol – its like im going in circles. one min i want to sell my 45mm then i want a 50mm and now my 45mm has sold i hear people loving the 45mm more than the 50mm, i miss it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif and i do have better grip on a 45mm. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I know what you’re talking about it moves just a little bit. I figured out one day that I have to tighten it a little bit harder on both sides and it doesn’t move at all now. But I do notice that it starts to loosen back up like it was after I use it for a while. I don’t want to tighten it too too much because I don’t want to ruin it. I think I’m going to call X pole and ask them about this to see if it’s normal.

what did x pole say? because im having the same problem with the pole when its in static. it spins back and forth abit. it isnt completely static. x

Make sure you have lined up the Xs on the base of the pole with your little screw holes. Tighten well. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

IT still does it abit after iv done a few moves. whats up with it? the pole is vertical too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

the adjuster cover doesnt need to be used. I never use my adjuster cover, its just there to make the pole look better. and there isnt much difference between the 45mm and the 50mm as iv had a 45mm and i upgraded to a 50mm. after all its only 5mm difference which is very little. X

But if the adjuster cover isn’t on then theres just that screw thingy showing and I can’t use that either lol.

You don’t see any difference between the 45 and 50? Why did you go up?

Lol, it depends how far out you have the adjuster rod screw out showing lol. I only have a little bit of it showing. Also, I upgraded because the standard size pole in the UK for competitions is 50mm. X
