I love cross training! I try to hit the gym for cardio and weight training 1-2 times a week. I also try to do some yoga, acro yoga, hula hooping, swimming, hiking and the occasional special thing like rock climbing. Not all at the same time mind you. I find that any fitness activity helps other fitness activities.
I also found that just my normal stretching I do after hitting the gym helped me get my left side splits! I wasn’t training for them but I always stretch after the gym and that regular stretching has seen huge growths in my flexibility overall! -

I just completed a 30 days of Handstand Challenge and I found some great resources to help me along. http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2013/10/24/how-to-handstand-better-than-luke-skywalker/ In that article you will find some great exercises for those who are brand new to handstands, those wanting to strengthen their handstands and those are working towards free standing handstands. 🙂

For Pole Art I just (like 3 days ago) opened up a shop for my pole art and I'm selling one of my pieces as a poster. Check it out! http://www.cafepress.ca/kikispoleblog.1003344209
Also I would say check out Leen Isabel's Shops for her art prints 🙂 http://pole-dancing-adventures.blogspot.ca/

I wasn't always this way, when I first started I cringed at every photo and video I took of myself. I always thought I looked fat and ugly.
What helped me was focusing on watching what i was doing rather then how i looked. I almost don't' notice if I'm making awkward faces or if i'm looking less then slender in photos/videos now. I'm just excited about watching what I am doing and seeing how i can improve.
Pay attention to what you are doing in the videos, rather then judging how you look. It helped me a lot when I first started recording. Eventually brain stopped getting in my way and I became less self conscious.

I recently was able to try both out at expo and while the pole sleeve was fun to play on, I would personally see it more as a special occasion type of pole to play on or to work on specific tricks. The SV powder coat was great for a multitude of different tricks and spins. For that reason I would say that the SV pole would be a better investment. Also the pole sleeve increases the diameter of your pole quite a bit.

I actually just wrote a blog about deciding if poling at home is right for you. Take a read through it, I hope it helps 🙂
