Thanks for your advice guys…we have discussed it before and he said he would be really not happy or OK with me doing it, which i can understand, what guy wants their girl dancing naked in front of other guys for money?? But, to make things worse, i just went to the dentist for the first time in a very long time today (right after i wrote the first post) and (this is going to make me sound disgusting, but i swear i am hygienic and brush everyday twice a day for 2 minutes!!) and i need all my wisdom teeth out ASAP, and a slew of other procedures…totaling over $3,000… the shit just keeps getting deeper… i am seriously considering it now… i think i may just go check it out first and if i end up getting a job and working i will tell him… i have never lied to him before and i shouldnt start now… one lie will just turn into another, into another, etc, etc… thanks ladies https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif i appreciate your input

I just bought mine from Veena and it is great! i got it in exactly a week, and Im in NY and it ships from CA… I had a crappy Flirty Girl pole before that, which really was the biggest waste of money next to the Carmen Electra pole (aka Peekaboo pole) and the X-Pole makes a world of a difference in my dancing and tricks, plus it has spinny which is really fun https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif … I say go for it! and no shipping with Veena…

thank so much Veena! so between what you and Fluer said Im thinking its my rhomboids…And yes to your question about which side, it is always the opposite side no matter which side i invert on…it is also a sharp pulling pain, the first few times i just worked through it (bad idea i know https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif ) and i was sore for days after so i pretty much stopped doing choppers all together…i will lay off inverts for a couple days and try again with better shoulder position, but also, i was wondering if there where any exercises i could do to build up my strength there as well…? I saw your vid for the rotator cuff exercises, would that work? So i went again today… I have to admit i exaggerated a bit on the pole diameter (i swear i remember them being thicker!) but still they are bigger, maybe 55mm, which is still too big in my opinion, and they still are coated in car paint lol… She is insured, although i don’t know what kind of insurance it is, she is accredited through Mind and Body in CA, but she did it like 4 years ago… I don’t think I want to teach there, it just doesn’t seem like my scene… In a way I want to stay to teach girls the right way so she doesn’t poison them, but I don’t think it’s best… i would love to teach at the studio i went to, but they aren’t looking for anyone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif … i think for now I’m going to wait for my X-Pole and just keep practicing and get better… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I’m just bummed this whole thing didn’t turn out how I thought i would at first, should have know it was too good to be true… anyway, i haven’t had a pole in a couple weeks and I’m going crazy so I also have to admit i practiced on her crappy poles while i was there… they are so sticky that i got 2 moves lol! thanks Roxy! it’s nice to know I’m not the only one! I think its crazy how little she knows! its driving me insane… the "poles" she has are at least 2.5 inches in diameter (that would make them about 63mm!!) I have a 50mm pole and my thumb and middle finger overlap a bit when i grip (big hands, i know) and on her poles my thumb and middle finger are about a half inch away from each other!! its nuts! idk how any girl with smaller hands than mine would be able to grip these poles and stay on… maybe it’s the fact that they seem to be coated in super glue lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif

yeah, the DVD’s are pretty crappy… aside from the Chair Dance and other annoying vids, there are only 2 pole instructional vids that only have 4 moves on them. The beginner DVD has the fireman, front hook, back hook and pinwheel. The intermediate DVD has a one-handed front hook, one-handed pinwheel, the peterpan, the invert and some weird variation of the reverse grab (kinda like a peterpan into a reverse grab). I feel like one-handed variations can’t really be taught, its just kinda something that happens when you are strong enough and experienced enough to do the move with one hand lol Besides all this, in their instructional vids they aren’t even using the Flirty Girl pole!! it almost looks like an X-Pole lol that should have tipped me off in the beginning. Flirty Girl has been the biggest waste of time and money for me. I feel like I haven’t been working to my full pole-tential (hehe) because I haven’t been practicing on a quality pole. I totally got sucked into their marketing and trusted them because they are on TV. how stupid, naive and foolish of me!! But i also didn’t really do enough research and didn’t understand the difference between poles. I mean a pole is a pole, right? NOT!!

Oh Glitter, I’m sorry! i Know exactly how you feel…except I’m younger than my sister… my sister has always been my mom’s favorite, my mom even said that to me once "your sister is my favorite and you are your fathers favorite"… it sucks not having a relationship with your mother, I became very close with my step mom because of this and i saw that it hurt my mom, but she was not willing to try to have that relationship with me so i never really felt that bad about it… i love my sister to death, but she has always been a screw up and my parents have spent most of their time bailing her out of f*cked up situations while i was put on the back burner… I’ve never felt wanted or needed by my mom, i know she loves me but i also know it doesn’t bother her not to have a close relationship with me… she was a good mom and always did the right things, but i never really felt any warmth behind her actions, it was always kinda like she was just going through the motions and doing and saying what she thought she should… in one way I’m happy for that because it has made me a very independent and responsible woman, but i do still feel that void… my step-mom passed away 2 1/2 years ago and that makes the void seem even deeper, she gave me what my mom could not and now that she is gone i feel very lonely in that aspect…i feel your pain and i know your mom loves you, but it sucks…

All i know is that my pole instructor was ACE certified… as for east coast training there is a studio in NYC, http://www.nypoledancing.com/, that does pole dance certification… i believe its around the $2,500 range but it covers everything from spins to anatomy… I want to take it myself but the price is whats holding me back… let me know if you find anything else out!
