I love joking, or maybe it's serious that "pole dancing" fitness or hobby/fun is job security. My job in a club years ago is what attracted me in the first place. I teach fitness classes designed to help with pole and as far as pole I teach parties at a local studio. I love exposing new people and I think mostly they think it's pretty cool I get paid to do something so fun and effective. I saw a studio advertise an exotic dance style class and then they made a disclaimer that this class is not for teaching exotic dancers..WTF..get the stick out of your ass! Yes there is a difference, but ultimately it's just technique.  I have a day job as well as my teaching job. I am NOT above entering a club to make money if I have to, and I am happy that I will have skills to know wtf I am doing so I'd be able to focus on the hustle and not the pole…but mostly I am happy to teach and learn the fitness side, that's what really excites me and is very empowering. There is nothing like helping a woman discover something sexier about herself while also finding strength.

It's an hour. She breaks it down into sections, and advises you can do the warm up and half one day and the warm up and half the next day, but for max the whole thing..It's kinda like the old buns of steel with intense stretch mixed in..if that makes sence..It's active flex with long holds for the stretching.

Sounds like maybe you need to add some aerobic movement to your conditioning, maybe boxing? Although yes polers have big arms! I think doing some boxing and even some slight resistance moves will help shed some fat and lean out the muscle you are building.

This is the most I have ever paid for a video..I love it! I took her workshop that was stretch/conditioning for pole when she was here, so it's a reminder of that. I'm happy to have the dvd to be able to push myself to do these things more. I think she did a great job on quality and all that as well.

I agree that the answer is both! I am mostly home schooled. I still have a lot to learn. I know schedule and $$ wise I would never be able to take enough classes to truly connect with pole like I have by having my pole at home. Since you have your home pole. Definitly invest in some good home learning options..Jamilla's dvds are great and so are Live Once & of course Veena's lessons. I would still try to get in a studio for workshops, and a couple classes a month. It makes it a better experience to meet fellow polers and learn something different, and not all on your own.

Congrats to the winners! I hope you both progress like crazy! :)..I am proud of all of us that took the time and opened up our hearts. I know it's not something I do often, and it's not easy. Something I would like to share from this..From entering this contest it helped me to take the plunge and enter for my first competition! Today was due day for finding out on both and while I didn't win the lessons I did get accpted into the comp!!  Here's to all of our POLE PROGRESSS! 🙂

Everyone advances and can do moves at their own pace. It can definitely be frustrating, but keep trying..and don't be hard on yourself! Confidence is a big part of this and if you don't "feel" the move it will make it harder as well. Definitely try to make regular time for it as well.

I love my clairsonic Mia..I have a body brush attachment that I use with it as well..I love it for my arms and legs especially. So just FYI if you didn't know that the body brush will fit the Mia, it dies..I also use Either Mario Badescu face cleaner, or Derma E cleaner, so you don't have o use special soap, but nothing with anything abrasive.  My other beauty product is coconut oil..I use it head to toe..I love it as a deep coditioner or just a small amount instead of silicone stuff left in after I wash my hair. I use it with a little essential oil or plain as a body lotion/oil..I also like to add it to bath water.

@Keex  Cleo talked about dancing with the beat and behind it like you mention..Alethea usually does that since her style is more slow and controlled.  I like to pic out my favorite parts of the song..and since I do like heavier..doesn't always mean the singing is, or bass playing are super fast. Anyway just about connecting and expressing.

Thanks @Ocusocus!  I look forward to connecting and sharing more rock stuff with you all! I have my covers playlist I made last night! 🙂

Thanks! Try again..I just realized I hadn't published it ;).. It's just been something I was playing with. I started it as a page to also hopefully gain more interst in pole, instead of making a group. Pole Rockers if the link doesn't work maybe you can find it in search! 🙂

Hey!! I am a Metal/Rocker chick all the way. I am open minded and love a little of everything, but metal is me. I have a heavy playlist that I even dance to death and black metal (some of my favorite to dance to)…and love like Alethea to dance to the doom/stoney stuff. I look forward to gaining more speed because I do agree it looks better and sometimes is needed, but I find there is usually a way to connect with a song if it's in you. Lol I LOVE to booty bounce to blast beats!! I started a facebook fan page, but have been unsure of it so if you all would like to participate (sharing videos, songs, anything)..I would love to bring this to light more. I made Cleo's Metallica tank and want get creative with rocker pole/active wear, as well as highlight this side of pole.Looking back as a little girl watching Motley Crue's Girls, Girls, Girls video is probably where I was first drawn to pole, along with some of the other sexy 80's videos… As I have read about hip hop being a lifestyle..I think that rock and metal is as well. It's in you and reflects out of you.

The Dollhouse in Encinatas (sp?)..its not far from SD at all.. very nice studio. :)https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

  • I chose to get my personal training certification too..I am getting it through a company that offers classes/training at a local gym so it's not what you are going for exactly, but..anyway..I think that with certs it doesn't stop at just one anyway..I hope you enjoy it..I really like what I have done so far and am excited to apply it to pole. I knwo that after this I will be getting others so it's only the begining.

I have a 45 and of course studios have 50 and my friends have 50's..I usually go through a little bit of an "ackward dating stage", but the more often I can go back and forth it's not bad at all. Plus since you can never tell who is going to have what size I think it's great to be as comfortable on all the sizes you can.

Try Mag 07 and aloe juice. Aloe juice has really helped me. Just a shot glass full once or twice a day.  I feel great and poop marshmellow peeps! 😉  I would definitly try all the natural stuff first..mirlax is a laxative, stay away from them..trust me that is a big source of my issues I have exprienced from abusing them in high school.

I have wanted to try this..I saw where Madonna recomends a cleanse with every season. I am affraid of disrupting the natural process though.  I looked up colon blow..and one thing I have found in researching this stuff is to becareful with senna products as they can be habit forming. You can try Mag 07..it's a great cleanse and magnesium is a natural cleaner..this stuff is oxygenated to work good and fast. Also aloe juice..whoel leaf will help clean you out and is great to use if you are doing a fast/cleanse..inner fillet I drink daily to help things.
