Hairspray… because you may rush the cockpit and style the pilot to death? I had a new aerosol hairspray detained and throw away one time. I don't even question it anymore just have a check in just for grooming products.

Hi Noellenoir! Welcome! This is a great place full of really supportive pole lovers. You will build up quickly, like Mechie said, you have that muscle memory to get you back in line.

That's one of the things I love about pole too… it works everything and is great for strength building… confidence too.

Post it!!! Be proud of what you enjoy and put it out there! There is no shame in being amateur or any level for that matter. It would be a fun way to share what you do with friends and family. I bet they will be very proud of you and we want to see it too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have used rubbing alcohol but don't put that on a surface it will damage!  I ended up putting a section of sheet vinyl under my pole so I scuff in wild abandon when I pole. The downside is occasional vinyl burn… but still worth it.

Its just so ridiculous. The studio owners and patrons have a right to express themselves free of threatening behaviors. Maybe the publicity will bring more students and they will continue to grow despite this challenge.

Will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all the testing goes well and she is back to her routine soon. It is probably best for her to not go to school with the equipment attached, they should be able to accommodate one week considering the circumstances.

Please try and take care of yourself during this difficult time.

Stevesgirl, I am very sorry to hear this news. I will be keeping her and you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. She will enjoy having her 'friend' that you picked up with her for the hospital stay. I hope that she is well and recovers quickly for such an aggressive seizure.

Let us know how things go.

    Hi ArryFerrari! Welcome!

Give it a go for the 30 days and see how you feel about it. We all start at different backgrounds and levels of fitness. With enough blood, sweat and tears (literally) you can work towards your goals.

I feel like to stay consistent with something we should love it. If you find something you love and keeps you going, do it! Focus on what you can do now and if you can't do exactly what you want (yet)… focus on how you're gonna get there.

Veena's lessons are great too by the way.

Let us know how things go.

I'm also waiting for the Alethea DVDs. Have been driving myself bonkers with anticipation.

I have a few of the BeSpun DVDs, if I had to pick one I would go for the Conditioning.

You did not ask for suggestions but there is another DVD called LiveOnce that has a wonderful variety of Conditioning lessons. Both the beginning and advanced DVDs have a conditioning section in addition to pole moves. Those DVDs give you a lot of 'bang for your buck'.

Veena's lessons are also very good!

You've received a lot of good feedback and links but I'll go ahead and offer my 2 cents as well! ; )

Trust your gut! It is expected for an instructor to challenge students and allow them to grow their skills but not put them in a situation that they are not physically or mentally prepared for.

If there are no other studios in your area that are appropriate for you, save the money you would have spent on class and use it to travel to workshops or visit out of state studios a few times a year.

I hope your wrist healed up and things are well.

She does, felixcaneinc. This is where I was planning to buy them from since I did not see a purchase link to them on felixcaneonline. I am going to wait for next month.

I watched the clip and it really got under my skin. Strength and flexibility are beautiful regardless of one's age. All this nonsense about 'inappropriateness' really shows their lack of sophistication and limited beliefs.

The segment was about options for youth fitness… I would gladly encourage any person to explore a fitness option that improved their health.

@ minicoopergirl, I always wanted to try the spider top because it looks sooooo pretty! Maybe one day.

@ hookedonpole, the SweetVixenCouture side-tie shorts arrived today and they are beautiful!!! I am in love! its great that I can adjust the length using the side ties. They have a great fit in the groin area so I see no 'peek a boo' action going on. I also found the size measurement chart was EXACT. I measured my body and ordered shorts based on my measurement. Perfect fit. I will try them during a workout tomorrow but already want more.

Adding this to my 'want' list. Agree a little extra marketing would be nice. She is such an accomplished and talented athlete. This is exciting news for the world of pole DVDs.

    Hello!

There are many things to factor in when deciding… I love Veena's lessons and have found them to be very helpful. I have had those 'ah ha' moments from her lessons that I did not get in a class. I will continue her lessons even if I pick up a class or two every now and again.

I would go to a studio only if the instructors created a safe and challenging environment. When in class you can get real time feedback that is unique to you, spotting and get other pointers on your form. Classes can be an amazing resource.

I like what you say how about dedication… so true that we influence our results regardless of the instruction we receive.

Let us know what you decide and happy poling!

I tried the butterfly poleskivvies short and they wear well. I just placed an order with sweetvixencouture for side tie shorts and looking forward to trying them out when I get them.
