That might be a typo on the web page. Call X Pole in your area to discuss your needs. Here is the vaulted mount from their US site and it says for vaulted ceilings only.

You have been given great feedback here. In addition I would suggest asking if she was available to talk a few minutes after class. Let her know in private that you want to see her to continue to excel and you are impressed with her progress and determination. Then ask her if there is anything you can offer to make her class experience more enjoyable and beneficial for her. She if she responds and gives you a way in to help her in reaching her goals.

I hope she continues classes and kudos to you for reaching out!

I know what you mean CapFeb… I won't drive in flip flops either. Or ride a bike in them. 🙂

I have a sock dreams ADDICTION and they happen to have my favorite long leg warmers. These are my personal FAVORITE!!! You can wear them scrunchie or long. They stay up fairly well but there is no elastic etc to keep them up so there is some sliding down.

Hi there! Every person is going to have their own way of working out and eating that they swear by. It also normally changes throughout the years depending on ones time allowance, budget, personal goals, health status and energy levels etc.

My personal experience is that pole is a killer upper body workout. Pole holds, climbs, spins and moves give me me plenty of upper body work. The only additional upper body work that I do is push ups. I love pole and I don't like anything else so that is another factor. I am motivated to do pole. I have gotten muscle definition in my arms/shoulders/back and love it. My friends tell me I have "guns" now and after years of being a gym rat… I didn't have "guns"… 😉

I bet you look great right now just as you are. I understand though the desire to improve/explore and kudos to you for looking for some ideas to help you on that journey. I hope you get lots of great advice in this thread and welcome to SV!

I don't wear heels in everyday life, my go to shoe is a flat. Only when dancing do I wear heels. I am 5' 8" and have taken to 7.5 – 8 inchers. Makes me very tall but I love it. I feel the larger heel is more propotional to my height.

I've never had anyone tell me I'm 'too tall'. People seem to really like it. Also keep in mind many runway models are 5'11" without shoes and they wear sky high heels. Confidence and comfort in your skin (heel or not) will really set you apart and make you look great.

It takes trial and error to find the right shoe for you. Each brand is different and each shoe in a brand can wear differently. Insoles can help a little bit.

Be really careful driving in heels. If it's over 2" I won't drive in it. That goes for wedges too. They make little slip on flats you can wear when driving and then can put your heels on when you get where you are going. I know… I know… me and my 'safety first'. ha ha. Those little slip on flats also help if your heels are hurting you too bad and you need a break.

Definitely heels for me. I love the way the look and they also they protect my feet. Practice is key when adjusting to heels. If you like them and it is something you want to learn, keep at it and you will be more comfortable in no time!

Laughed at your smell your hands comment. I don’t have to smell my hands to smell it, just sensitive and very perceptive with smells. I didn’t know before I bought brass it has such a distinct smell. It’s good there are many finishes to choose from, I just never thought smell would be in my criteria set.

All this rib breaking talk makes me cringe! AmazonLady, do you need to see a doctor for evaluation and treatment? I hope you feel much better soon and am sorry you are having so many rib injuries. Amy has very sound suggestions regarding technique.

I'm hypersensitive to scents… I smelt brass all over after using it and during use too. Couldn't stand it. I hardly use it because PC is too grippy for the moves I like to do. Pole trial and error… 😉

    Lyme,

I couldn't stand the brass smell. I am very sensitive to smells so I PC'd it. The extra grip and color was nice but then it was too grippy for me. I do a lot of drops and that's a no go for me on PC.

Powder coat in my area was $125. I had a brass pole powder coated.

I always tell myself to have some civility and get a 'lingerie washing bag' to put the stuff with ties/tails in but that NEVER happens… so I tie them up. I had an awful tangled mess when I don't. Or the tricky… tied but not tight enough and it broke free!

I wash mine in the washing machine on the gentle cycle with woolite. Then air dry. Haven't had any problems with loss of shape or damages. On the stuff with really long tails (like side tie items or garters with wraps) I take the tails/ties and do a knot and throw them in.

Pole finish is a very personal choice for many reasons. The most common is probably how our body reacts to the finish. Do you have any studios in your area? If you do I would suggest going to them to try different finishes and see which one feels best for you.

Unfortunately we normally learn this through trial and error by actually being on different finishes.

My personal preference in the order of most grippy (for me) to least grippy (for me) is:

Powder Coated, Stainless Steel, Titanium Gold, Brass, Chrome. I prefer good ole fashioned Stainless Steel. Powder coat will tear my skin off or burn it if doing drops. I don't like the smell of brass.

Do a forum search and you will find many threads on finish. You will also notice that each person has their own preferences and they will be very different.

I also like Aerial Amy's blog topic on pole finish. Check it out…
