….it’s weird, like once you pick a name you create a dance personality for yourself and after awhile your stage persona and real life persona merge. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
wow! i´d never even thought of that possibility! I can´t wait for my selves to start merging….!

hey jacq!
how about putting some of your favorites together like for example "foxy rei"? has a good ring to it…anyway, i wouldn´t stress about it, the perfect name will come to you. as stupid as it sounds mine came to me in a dream. well, sort of…
for along time i loved the name siren because of it´s meaning (temptress). especially after having read "the three sirens" by irving wallace. (the fictional society depicted in this book is truly amazing!) and sometimes i´d use it as a screen name but by itself it wasn´t enough.alot of people call me frida (like the painter frida kahlo) because i´m always wearing fresh flowers in my hair ..(and i guess because i have big bushy eyebrows https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif ) i so admire her as an artist and especialy the great woman she was but it´s not a sexy name at all and i never even thought of using it.
one day they both came together in a dream. when i woke up it was the first thing that came into my head and i knew it was just perfect for the personage i wanted to be when i was poledancing! and i also liked that it didn´t really sound like a stripper name yet was still sort of sexy.
that´s another thing, i think a stage name should reflect the traits of the person we want to be when we are performing and not necessarilly who we are in our everyday lives. i want to be a powerful creative temptress when i´m up on that pole and not my usual shy silly clutzy self! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
best of luck!

Hey girls!
Loved the poster idea! You could even use beautiful framed pictures of poses all over the walls, and noone would be the wiser! he he! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Another tip for improv is to know your music inside out! no suprises…
As for coreographing, don´t forget to make a brilliant finish! That´s what your public is gonna remember. Seriously, 5 min later that´s all they remember! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif If it´s clumsy that´s what they´ll think of your piece, if its something bold and confident or sexy or whatever thats that´s what they´ll think…
And if you mess up, do it with style, nobody will even know the difference!
Good luck!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Ditto for what everybody else has written!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif-"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", the most important beholder being yourself! Believe you are beautiful and sexy and you will be ! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif and others will believe it also, and those that don´t see it shouldn´t matter to you and don´t deserve your time of day! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif
As for your progress, don´t be frustrated! Everyone learns in different ways and at different speeds. But you will learn! I always tell my students that the first day of class to set them straight. I also don´t except any of that "I can´t do this" crap! It´s "I can´t do this YET!" and if a certain move is frustrating you, just leave it for a while and work on something else. Chances are when you come back to it you´ll get it, or at least you´ll be closer, and -if you don´t -hey we all have limitations, learn to use them in your favor! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Maybe while you´re on VACATION from poling you could do some yoga or pilates to work on your core strength…
Please don´t give up!

hi!
yeah, ginger root is excellent for nauseousness. you might also avoid salty snacks. salt makes your body retain water and which can also disrupt your inner ear equilibrium making you dizzy… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking2.gif -
