It’s all free shipping and free return shipping – that’s the site I use. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
You can also Google search for promo codes to take a few extra bucks off, too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

Thanks, V! Oh wow I got a "yay" from Webmaster, too! Score! Thanks! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Are you talking about her finishing move?
I literally favorited this video minutes ago… lol
To me, it’s a bridged scorpio but switches into a gemini using her body instead of the legs, then into the bomb… the gemini part is really quick, though. That’s what I see…

Lol thanks everyone! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
bebeduckie – I’m not really sure what I did different… I actually did the dismount first. I pretended I was going to do a forward roll off the pole, but slowly – got close to the floor but not touching it. Gripped the pole, curled my back to get my shoulder on the pole, and very slowly "rolled". I just kinda ended up in the position and was able to hold it on the way down, and it was one of those "ah-ha!" moments. I jumped up and tried the mount from standing and did it!
But the grip was a big part – I’ve been playing with the other ones for a while, and this grip felt best for me. So it’s called the respect grip, then? I’ve been calling it twisted grip or the Felix grip. (meh… labels). But it doesn’t put as much pressure on my boney collarbone, so that’s why I like it.

I saw someone put up a link to Yannori’s blog, but she put up a Part 2 – she also included links to other blogs that had opinions on the topic:

Just in case anyone wanted to check it out… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Yeah but I was thinking beyond what the names are, like if it’s transitional, floorwork, spins, holds, a trick, etc. other than spins vs. moves vs. dance steps like what WikiPole has. I use Wikipole all the time… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif But that might be getting too nit-picky, I dunno…

There’s another thread floating around here somewhere about lotions… I’ll see if I can remember what it said.
If your skin is dry like that, I would definitely stop using the dry hands. Your skin doesn’t grip well if it’s extremely dry, and plus if it’s peeling like that, it probably isn’t healthy to dry it out more… I’m no expert, though.
You CAN use lotion, just put it on several hours before you pole, or even immediately afterwards. You’re just slick if it’s a fresh coat – if your skin has had time to absorb it and your clothes rub it off a bit, you should be fine. I think the thread also said using water-based lotions is best (as opposed to oil-based).
Once again, I’m no expert… hopefully someone else will chime in, here

I think of it as transitional but more specifically floorwork… but that’s just me *shrug*
I’m tempted just to launch into a glossary of pole terms, but I shall resist. Does such a thing exist already? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Empy – if you want something more descriptive then maybe call it the Remi layback or the Remi release? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif (looks more like a "release" than a "layback" to me, but that’s just my opinion)
Yeah there was an unofficial vote on Day’s Facebook pics of this move and Remi was the winner… I just thought it was funny, we had this huge string of comments trailing under the pic https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Oh, I’ve pretty much gotten over the pain aspect of this move on the lower ankle – I still can’t grip enough to stay up there every single try, though. But it’s progress! I want to do it at the pole jams at USPDF and NOT have to take my boots!
-
I’m going! And at least one of my roommates is, too. We have another pole jam that night, but that one starts earlier and we’re planning on hitting both! Does that make it a pole crawl??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Lol I put lesson in quotes because it is a how-to but it’s not one of the formal lessons that you have to pay for https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Ditto to what charley said, Terp! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I was applauding the whole time!

Veena did do a video on this, just not a "lesson":

Is this a list thing like what Sissy’s doing? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
Oh well I’ll keep it going:
Kari aka Kari828 staying at The W Hotel, the Court
Amy aka Amyxshii staying at home
Kee AKA bauderlady staying at the W The Court
Christina AKA SissyBuns staying at the Days Inn on 94th
Jacq ("Jake") aka Foxy Rei staying at The W, The Court(I’m rooming with Kee. Kari, and Day)
Can’t wait! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I read it to my husband when he got home and he just stood there with a cocked eyebrow while I read the whole thing. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Probably what bothers me the most is that he’s treating Leigh Ann like she’s an amateur stripper or something… Little does he know that she’s one of the biggest names in pole dance! Talk about putting your foot in your mouth! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif

Pole-twista – you might want to poke around the threads about USPDF in the competition forum, people are discussing hotels and such there.
I’m taking a bus down, myself, but I’m coming from the opposite direction from you. It’s just over 3 hours to get there from about where I live, and it was $80 round-trip through Greyhound (coming into the Port Authority station in Manhattan).
From what I’ve seen, hotels are a bit pricey – a lot of people are getting roommates to split the costs. There still might be some people looking, but I’m not sure…
-
Heels are frustrating for me because I have really low ceilings, so I have to be really careful… If I kick up too high to get my foot around the pole, I kick the dome or the ceiling. If I don’t kick up enough, the invert doesn’t happen or I kick the pole. CLANG!
It’s just something you have to keep at and practice. Once you have the muscle memory you’ll wonder why you ever had any problems with it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
edit: I use the word "kick" loosely here, lol

I see dancers using the same songs all the time – I’ve seen several videos that use Drowning Pool’s Tear Away…
I’m also one of those people who doesn’t listen to the radio or anything that keeps me up on current music (one of the curses of an iPod) so sometimes I’ve never heard a song until I see a video using it. Then I go on Google to search for the lyrics if the title wasn’t obvious so I can download it, which is followed by a couple weeks where I can’t stand to listen to anything but that song (I’m one of those people that can listen to the same song on repeat for hours and still love it). So, yeah, using that song for a pole video has happened.
I "copied" Sascha once and did a video to Careless Whisper by Seether like a week after she posted hers because I had never heard it before her video… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Hers was better, though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Lol no, go ahead – you’re not stealing anything. It’s one of those cover-ups that’s big enough that you can tie it up as a dress, around your waist, whatever you want. And thank you for the compliments!
Speaking of boobies, that was my 2nd take because one of the girls fell out of my top during the first one, lol. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I already did mine!
http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/3157
I’m sad, though, because my camera decided to go out of focus near the beginning of the video… but it’s there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Dayanara – you signed up for it anyway!? Stop confusing me! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif
I don’t have the addresses right in front of me, but everything was 5 miles or less from our hotel, so… you might want to head straight out just to be safe.
And it looks like us roommies are all going to the same workshop for Veena! (Wait – did Kari sign up for it?? She said she was thinking about it… Oh, Kari!)
Sissy – since I’m sitting next to you for the show, I’ll carry you to and from our seats, how’s that sound? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif You’re not that far from me! Sending you a message!

We know the Bible says that sex and romance are good things – things that make couples stronger and don’t let them stray…so sensual dance in a marital context is certainly ok…
and it’s noce to know that there are other pole dancers out there with a zeal for God.
Amen, Charley, on both counts! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
And I ditto what she said about seeing if you can set up a separate time. But definitely pray about it and talk with your husband, maybe even talk to your pastor if need be.
Is there someone that you can borrow a pole from, so you can show him at home?
Being a Christian and a pole dancer is tough… not just because of the struggles that just stay in your mind about what is and isn’t sinful, etc., but just like everything else out there, Christian opinions are becoming the minority and can cause conflict with other people – it’s especially touchy in the pole dance world because of its origins. Then there’s also the whole thing with explaining to fellow Christians that what you’re doing isn’t necessarily sinful, either. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif But at least you know you’re not alone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
