I just dont care. Simple as that.
Poledancers often say that they have had conversations with non-polers, trying to convince them , that pole dancing and stripping is not the same. And as true as that may be, I dont even care about that. People are welcome to see me as a stripper I have nothing against that or exotic dancers. Because I love to Pole, and no one can take that away from me. Or you..

For me its like this.
First ordered the pole: "Im gonna be so freaking sexy, spinning around that thing!"
The pole is set up: "How hard can this really be?"
First try climbing the pole: "av! Its slippery?!"
But then comes all the good things.. Your first climb, invert etc. And even tough im not there yet, I know that someday I'll be good enough to compete!

Dont hide it from your mom and dad. I dont think you will be able to have a pole without them finding out. Also, it is good to have someone around wen you learn poledance. Just in case..
It sounds like you almost have your familiy on board with it, and then I see no harm in you doing something you seem passionate about. And you will get strong with pole. I couldn't climba three when I was little. Now, I lift my own bodywheigt on my pole without hesitation.
Only thing is, if you are under 18, focus a bit on the art of the poledance and not the more erotic version. I wish I had started when I was a teenager instead of when I was 20. Maybe I'd be really awesome at it by now.
And dont worry, you dancing poledance, does not mean you are on the same track as your mother. I would know 🙂

MemberApril 3, 2012 at 2:52 pm in reply to: I Am Trying to Use Gimp and I Can’t Get It to do a SINGLE Thing!Have you tried adobe photoshop? You can download it as a free trial (there wont be anything on the picture indecating its a trial use) Its can be pretty easy.
To flip an image:
Open the image in photoshop.
Go to image at the top. Scroll down to Image Rotation and choose how you wish to flip it.
To add a background:
Open the picture you want to use and the background you want to add.
Go to the background image and right click on the image on the layers path in the left corner. Choose duplicate layer and in the pop up choose to duplicate it to the icture you want to use,
Then go to the picture and in the top choose layer – layer mask – reveal all.
And you just use a brush and a black color to paint in te background. If you paint wrong, just use a white color to paint it back. 🙂 Hope it can help a bit. Gimp pretty much sucks a..

MemberApril 3, 2012 at 12:47 pm in reply to: I Can’t Stand My Hair At The MomentTo the lovely ladies whos growing their hair long:
Its a though process and it can feel like its taking forever. Especially the part where it has to go by your chest. But it will!
For the last 4 years I've grown my hair and worn exstentions. Then about 6 months ago, I took my exstentions out, and realized that my hair was just as long. Finally! 😀 Even though it feels like a never-ending process, but it will get there, and when it does, it feels amazing!! Keep up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I LOVE this thread! I never understood that whole humbleness when it comes to complimenting yourself. My doctor has even described me as narcissistic https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
My long hair
My long black eyelashes
My breasts
Actually my whole body!
My small height
My eyes
My chik bones
My weird flexibility.

When I bought my pole a year ago, and it was put up, I got pretty scared. It is a pretty high ceiling, and I just thought "daaamn it looks like a monster!!". Im a very scared of everything in life, and height is no exception. But something happens to me, when I pole. I just trust the pole and my knowlegde. I know I can do this move, I know that if I do slip, I have 1000 opatunities to grab the pole before I slam to the ground.
The one thing I was scared of, was doing inverts. Basically everything wit my head down was something I did not think I could learn. And sure enough, the first time I did the cross knee release, I slipped. (I even have a picture of that on my profile) but what you dont see in the picture, is that a few cm before hitting the floor head first, I grabbed the pole with my leg and I was stuck! I claimed on to the pole so thight, I could not slide down. Thats when I realized, that its hard for me, to actually fall of, than to just dismount the pole. Now I spin around with my head down all the time not fearing it at all.
As for the pole falling down, I too have the xpole xpert and nothing has ever happened with it. Its been standing solid in the same place since april 11' and I have even had to grown men, jumping at it, had the same time.
My point it, that its okay to be scared when you try out anything thats new, but if I can overcome it, so can everyone else. 🙂 And remember, that being a little scared, can sometimes prevent you from being careless.

MemberMarch 15, 2012 at 7:38 am in reply to: Does anyone see any new features the LIKE?Thats great. Was just wondering. I know yt uses the button, but it is facebooks patent. And its harder for facebook to go up against Google than a smaller and lesser known site. And since facebook interfers with both Google and Yahoo patents (its not an issue with Google, since they only get patents in order to stop the whole having patents and thereby allowes People to use theirs

MemberMarch 15, 2012 at 4:04 am in reply to: Does anyone see any new features the LIKE?LIKE it so much! Love the new look Veenastudios has gotten lately. And I really dont want to give it a negative vibe, so this question is ONLY because I care about the site and the people. Have you checked that youre not interferring with facebooks "like" patent? I know that google+ was not allowed to use that and instead they used a +1 feature instead.
I know that you wouldn't think, they'd go after a smaller site, but they have done that before. And VeenaStudios aint that small anymore. Its like one of the biggest polesites in the world.
I just thought I'd put it out there. I'd hate for you guys to get in trouble.

I love pole dancing so much, it doesn't matter what people think. They can think Im a stripper aswell if they like. All that matters to me, is that I've found something I really love to do!

I just wanna say, that I love this site and Veena! 🙂 My first day on this site I looked all the lessons trough (even though i couldn't even climb the pole yet) and thought " ohhhh my. I cant ever learn any of that!". But Veena is very good at teaching. When se starts to explain the move, she does it quick and easy. I also find myself thinking "Ofcourse! Thats how you do it!". So thank you Veena! I wouldn't mind waiting a year for a new advanced lesson, when it is done like you do.

I think Jenyne Butterfly is absolutely beautiful both as person and as a poledancer, but for some reason, I dont get that great feeling when I watch video of her.
Like with Veena or Felix. Everytime there is a new video, I can barely watch them to the end, because I get so inspired that I have to dance myself. 🙂

Hi Tara.
You where the first I saw poledance and the reason I bought my pole last year. I love your videos! I did not know, you suffer from anxiety. So do I.. I started cbt a little while ago, and its done so much for me already. Even quit my medication last summer. I wish you all the luck in the world. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

MemberDecember 30, 2011 at 5:58 am in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?Shame on this site? Honestly? Why on earth is it Veenas fault if you bought an x-pole and hated it? Because she has one and loves it?
All this site does is helping people who wants to learn how to pole. Everything Veena does on this site is what SHE thinks is best. Do you also think its bias that she shows her learning methods on a move and not ALL the ways you can learn it?
Sorry you dont like your pole. But its your own fault..
