When you start a post with “The girls who are saying they shouldn’t be ashamed of their bodies are wrong.” you can’t be shocked when people are offended. That statement is inflammatory. Perhaps you should choose your words better if you don’t want to be perceived as a troll.

That depends on your price range and what you are looking for in a camera. I ended up buying a regular camera with video capabilities because the lense was so much better than on a video camera of comparable price. I paid 200$ish for my camera 3(?) years ago and I’ve been really happy with it. I would suggest going somewhere that has a good return policy and trying a few out *in your space*(

Try stretching between sets too. Just a quick light 30 second stretch of whatever muscle you were just training. It works great and you will be amazed at how flexy things are right after you’ve worked them. It’s sort of the same principle as PNF.

Where is the phone number for this company? Can I talk to a human being about my purchase? Do they have a warranty? What about all of the bad reviews (and even some if the good) that say the pole is bowed?
It seems to me (from reading the reviews) that this would be a GOOD “grind pole” and if you’re lucky it might do for some basic tricks. But I wouldn’t trust it with my life. Save up an extra 100$ and get a basic X-pole/lil Mynx/PS pole.

As far as I know the beam doesn’t have to be a certain size. You should be able to determine the width of your beam with a stud finder. Pass your stud finder over your ceiling and mark where it starts beeping and where it stops, that will be the width of your beam.

R pole is another good one in the UK. And I think Pussycat sells their poles in the UK. Those are both trusted poles with good reputations. They might be quite a bit more expensive than Xpole or Platinum Stages though (I don’t think you can get Lil Mynx in Ireland).

Permanent platinum stages poles start at 150$. You might also be able to get a 10% discount for being a member of SV and if not they usually have sales around all major holidays. If you want a removable multi piece that wont kill you you are going to have to pay more though.

I’ve had my PS multi piece for 2+ years now and I have never gotten paint in my eye. The top is chipping a bit around where it connects to the pole, but it’s nothing major. I would post a pic for you but I have no idea how.

I initially had trouble with the hold as well. I found it really helpful to open up my body before taking my foot off. That seemed to lessen the “push” of my thigh against my hand. I’ve also seen a few people flip their hand position so instead of thumbs up it’s thumb down and “cupping” the pole instead of “grabbing” it (if that makes any sense) it seems like it would be a more secure hold especially for someone with “larger” thighs.

@CalBear you can get full finger gloves from mighty grip now. They take a few sessions to break in, but after that the “flexibility” of the gloves improves.

Try Tite Grip first, it’s an antiperspirant it works great for sweaty hands. If that dosent work try the gloves, they will probably come in handy in the future anyway. If you want a more permanent solution you can try DrySol. It’s an antiperspirant that you apply twice a week. I found mine at Superstore (Loblaws) for 12$ I think. It’s worth a shot if you don’t mind sleeping with gloves on.

@ Lyme Lyte, I just checked out your floor and it looks awesome! I was advised against OSB for flooring, what did you use to keep it from disintegrating under your heels?

I JUST did this 2 days ago. I cut a hole in the middle of the seam between the 2 boards and “sandwiched” my pole inside. As for connecting the boards, I just stuck them together (they were toung and groove) duct taped at a few spots and ran electrical tape along the length of the seam. Then I covered the whole thing in vinyl tile. It’s pretty awesome if I do say so myself. It cost 140$ total. I hope that helps.

I can’t speak for the finish but if you are getting a second pole I would strongly suggest you get a different diameter. 50mm’s are great for “painful” tricks (shoulder mount, knee hold, etc.) but smaller poles are WAY better for pretty much everything that involves hand grip (spins, handsprings, etc.). I own a 50mm steel pole and if I were to buy second pole (which I am strongly considering) I would get a 40mm or a 38mm.

Hmmm, free shipping to Canada… I am currently (strongly) considering a tiny (40mm) pole. I am a big fan of PS but they don’t have a tiny multi piece yet AND a one piece would still be 120$ more than what you are offering on your site. So my question is “Is free shipping really free?” Will I have to pay 100$ in Duties and taxes once it gets here?

I’m in! I sprained my wrist a few months ago and lost alot of strength. So my main goal will be to get my wrist (and body) back to where it was. Maybe even nail a TG or SM deadlift.

Goal #2 I want to be able to grab my foot over my head. I feel like it’s something I should be able to do and it’s frustrating as hell that I can’t!

Goal #3 Splits all ways. I need to square my fronts and get the last few inches of my middles. (and by “few inches” I mean a foot :-/ I just want to be able to fake a middle split convincingly)

Goal #4 Insert hippie dippy “Eat, Pray, Love” crap here

  • The case I have is 3+ years old and is definitely not cardboard. I would suggest calling PS and asking them about anything you are unsure of. They have always been more than happy to answer any questions I’ve had.

  • Acetone is the best cleaner I have found for it… Other than that, have lots of pole parties so other people can do the work for you 😉

  • Oh and Yes, you can make your PS pole top or bottom loading depending on your preferance.

  • The case for the PS is like a large metal briefcase. It’s got foam inside to fit all of the pieces and has wheels on the bottom so you don’t have to carry it. It also has combination locks. If you are going to be traveling ALOT or if you plan on taking it on a plane/train/boat/bus/horse drawn carriage/etc., it’s probably worth it.
As for the finish, stainless is slippery as hell when it’s new. The more you use it the grippier it gets, so if you are willing to “break it in” it ends up being a really great finish to work on.

There is a banner at the top of the shoebuy home page right now. The code is “spring”. You can also sign up for their emails and they will send you codes… Or just google “shoebuy.com coupon codes”.

Shoebuy.com has a HUGE selection of pleaser shoes, free shipping (in the US) and returns. Plus they always have promotions (right now it’s 20% off) I just ordered 2 pairs this morning they only cost 40$ each. That’s the cheapest I have ever seen them ANYWHERE. I actually found they fit a bit big though. I am a large size 9 and I have a pair of 8’s and 3 9’s the 8’s are squishy but wearable and the 9’s fit perfect.
