    Sure Here you go:
    Knee hold to hollydrop@4:05 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AF0iztm9ow
When you get secure in the h-drop you can go even faster to make it more dramatic but I forget which vids have the example.

    Congratulations on your knee holdd!!!
I never really cared much for the knee hold until I went through the process of learning it.
Wow, talk about paying your pole dues lol. I also notice it’s a move that audiences seem to find especially impressive.
For comobs I like doing a knee hold to holly drop or a knee hold to superman fall.

  • Keep going! I know exactly how you feel. Usually when I get a move I’m working at it motivates me to put even more effort into poling and when I keep failing it’s a deterrant. You have to remember if you were there before you will be there again and that the second time around doesn’t take as long as the first. So start back from the beginning and rebuild the muscles in the right order and you’ll be back to where you left off before you know it. Also I know I always say this every chance I get but it really really helps me to find new music to practise to. It energizes me and motivate me to get onto the pole during an off day.

For me no pole equals tons of stretching (back as well as splits) handstands, elbowstands, forearm stands and soooo much floorwork.
Also maybe you can practise certain moves on poles in the park to maintain your strength (shoulder mounts or ayeshas)
Another idea might be to check if anyone at pole studios near you does not have a pole and would let you put yours up at their place in exchange for some pole time a few days a week. Or even for those who already do have a pole some people like to have a practise partner for spotting or motivation maybe you can volunteer.

For myself & getting a secure CAR turning the knees in made a big difference.

I feel you Hooked. The idea of meeting pole dancers gets me more excited than the idea of meeting a rockstar or actor! That’s so cool that you will get to visit with Veena!

Congrats! I feel excited for you 🙂
I love happy pole stories hehe
I’ve also been curious about an expert 45mm Chrome I have a 50mm ss too (which I love). I’m glad to see your new pole is not too slippery for you – that’s been my biggest hesitation in getting one.

  • Not that I know of. Usually if I want to see who danced to what song I’ll search youtube EX: biting down lorde pole dance. I also switch the words around and do another search in case – but it seems so far you have a song that hasn’t been done.

Totally feel you Web Junk! Lol @ polespotanitis I have it too along with highceilingalism, I’m compulsively summing up where it would be awesome to put a pole.

@Anzia I did the splits in 6 weeks program but I didn’t do it daily. I waited until the soreness was gone and I could comfortably do each stretch. The in between wait days gradually became less and less.

@Moxie You can do it!! Just be consistent – Slow and steady wins the race 😉

PS: He might try and come back with a compromise in order to stay in touch but be firm and decline any suggestion of contact outside of work and just repeat your reason. If he becomes repetitive in asking for the same things ignore him and save any messages in case you need proof of his behaviour.

Another way around this might be to tell him that he seems nice but for professional reasons you have a rule of not getting personally involved with any co-workers so you need him to stop sending messages to avoid complications.

You can tell him that you accept add requests in order to trade “likes” between you and your added contacts to help boost each other’s page – or word it however it makes sense (I don’t do facebook so I don’t know the proper terms hehe)

    Hi Meg
I think 1st: in your starting position your body is side by side with the pole but it should be further infront so that when you bend down your head does not pass the pole
2nd: Also your top hand looks too high up, here’s a vid to check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLMyrylJ4_g
3rd: It helps to keep your head down I think you need to bend much lower and get your bottom hand lower onto the pole too

I don’t know if you have Veena’s lessons but her tutorial helped me get it – Good luck 🙂

I don’t know any techniques I personally had to suck it up until my skin got used to it. My method was to try and repeat a new move as much as I could even if I was getting tired because I knew that after I stopped my skin would be too sore or bruised for a few days to continue practising the same move. As soon as I recovered I’d be back at it again and eventually there would be no pain after repeating the process enough times.

I couldn’t do any of the things you’ve mentioned when I started. I had to work for every move and every spin. I could never do the splits when I was younger either. Pole is great because you are about to discover all the things you never thought your body was capable of and pole doesn’t discriminate either. All ages, all body types all genders all everything are all welcome!!

I can do a front split now (still working on squaring it a bit more though – but I’ll take what I got so far) I just learned how to carwheel mount last month and my dance flow is getting flowy-er! Also if you check out Natasha Wang she had no dance or gymnastics background either and she is crazy amazing.

I like doing one handed chair spins to prep for faster paced spins. Also when I’m getting used to something new I douse the pole with alcohol (and wipe it of off course!) Same for my hands and even put on some itac. Just a bit though so I can still spin.

I have no dance background and definitely practise makes perfect! I like to videotape myself instead of using a mirror. It helps me get in touch with how the move should feel when I’m in the right position.
