Your welcome Pole walker and Pole fit 🙂 I wish it was more clear but my connection wasn't that great since I'm not an Aussie.
Even though I knew Cleo was going to win I still felt stressed for her! and sooo bad for Lou!

@Ly I'm gonna have to email to find out. I'll update when I know more 🙂
-
@Ly, Yes let me know if you end up wanting to go in June/July
Here is the link to the Corp. Housing 11059 McCormick Street, North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California 91601
http://execustay.com/furnished-apartments/north-hollywood/living-at-noho/index.php
Google Maps says it's 1 minute away!
I still will look into other living options around (if any) but at least it's a start 🙂

Oh wait not Chandler, it's on McCormick

I understand that everybody is being safe by advising to take it slow but I personally believe as Miss mentioned that it's about strength as an individual as far as where you should start is concerened. I have a friend who could care less about pole dancing and has never taken a lesson but is able to climb to the top of a pole just while goofing around. She can do spins and all these crazy things.
Another thing, and I don't want to sound sexist but… if Scotty is a male, at my studio we've seen men invert by the second or third class. Everyone is different.
@Scotty I'd suggest testing the waters before diving in:
MissDirdyBirdy on youtube has some invert prep exercises for beginners. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrQ0RaBNxc8
I also subscribe to the lessons here. They are in order of what you should learn first so they'd probably be a good way to gauge what level you are at strengthwise and what you are or aren't ready for.

@ Ly,
Yes I'd like to go to L.A and immerse myself in pole. It's something I've wanted to
do for a looong time and I finally have a chance coming up!
@Thelil I'm hoping to stay for a month. Thanks for the info.
@Kelly I'm not planning to visit until June/July but I wanted to start looking
into everything beforehand so I can have all the arrangements made when the time comes.
I've already found a corporate furnished monthly rental on Chandler Blvd that looks like it might be an option. I will email you for more details since I do have a few more general q's.
Thank you ladies for your responses 🙂

I do it from a figure head. After I started shoulder mounting from a pirouette with no kicking in my practise routines I was strong enough to do it.

If you take lessons at a studio they'll most likely guide you along. If you are learning at home this site has conditioning lessons. Even if I was at a studio I'd still find these lessons valuable. I would also suggest to start stretching regularly so when you get into certain advanced moves you are ready for them.

*If the samples helped.
I don't know what I have against spell checking!

I find the new Itac to be as littleEngine does, well actually I found both extra and reg strength mushy. Itac said the formula is the same and that they are sending me samples in case it was just a difference with the batch. They also asked that I let them know if the samples made a helped with my grip problems.
@Fly With my old container wich was labled level 2 I didn't notice any gradual decrease in stick but it did dry out over time. Did the weather cool off in your area? Do you think maybe a change in seasonal temperatures might have caused a change in grip? Over here when it gets cold my skin gets sooo dry and makes me slip.

In ref. to Kyrsten's post I saw this on Miss America. I don't know personally if it works but they used it:

Hmm what about a leotard with grippy side panels added? Or getting a leotard altered by a seamstress with the sides cut to your liking?

I think when it comes to the pole any move that is considered sexy will be thought of as "stripperish" by someone. Sometimes just being on a pole is all it takes. If I like what I'm doing call me what you want!

Karol Helms does a handspring tutorial here. It starts at about 1:13 I think

Cool is this the PS Brass pole you are talking about?

MemberJanuary 8, 2013 at 1:06 pm in reply to: Water drinking challenge? / how to drink more water? For me it helps to squeeze a lemon in a pitcher of water. I can't stand plain water unless I'm really thirsty, then it just feels so refreshing, but to intake water when I'm not thirsty – blahI need something in it. With lemons I can drink it all day, no juice or soda needed. Lately I've also tried cold water with cucumber which was nice too.

@Luvlee yes I read the same thing about the levels on ebay. I guess they mean that it's the same stuff labled differently but the whole texture and grip is different to me.
@Chem. Thanks for your suggestion. If I have time this week I'll track down the bowling grip and update how it works if I can find it around here.
Also I asked Itac to go ahead and send the samples just in case it's the beeswax as they said and of course I'll update if it's the same as what I already have or not.
-
Oh wow Luvlee, Was it the Itac people that told you it's different?
-
Well they wrote me back and said they didn't change the formula and that beeswax varies between batches. They offered to send samples to see if it makes a difference.
I really appreciate that they took time to respond the same day but I'm skeptical about the formula being the same. I ordered my extra strength and regular strength seperately from different venues at different times. As well I doubt all of us that noticed a change purchased from the same batch. Can all that new mushiness really be attributed to beeswax?
I guess I'll give it one last try and take the sample offer since I really loved this stuff and would love to be able to resort to it when I need. *fingers crossed* stay tuned…

I agree AG. I emailed them here: http://www.itac2.com/contact Oh what I wouldn't do for my old itac2 (sigh)
-
@Chem, from what you've heard do you think there may be a possibility of Itac going back to their original formula?
