I have seen $250 for a single private, I have paid $150 for a private before.

I think it depends on what you want to learn, what are you learning for, are you doing just tricks or do you need someone to choreograpa a routine for you – etc.

I think some set their price based on what they want to make an hour for example if there is a 6 student minimum at $75/student then that instructor woiuld make $450/hour.  Plus you want to set a reason able difference between group classes and privates – a private class is typically double what a group class simply because teachers make more money in a group than a private.

I'm not currently working besides and intermediate class at Vixen in Detroit.  I might be able to do a private but your best bet is to contact either Fantasy Fitness or Pole Addiction – Pole Addiction does both pole and silks and has drop in options.  There is also a free Flight Club on Wednesdays at Pole Addiction basically a big pole and aerial jam.  I believe the infamous Ms. Shadow is now teaching at Pole Addiction, she's awesome.

I'd love feedback about I vs II.  I have several of the original bottles left but had considered ordering the new stuff the other day – luckily my power went out as I was ordering 😀

I've started using a perscription strength anitperspirant at night – Drysol.  This is day 2 and the heat and humidity are out of control – I'm still sweating…I heard it can take up to a week for high strength anti perspirants to work so I am hoping that it will kick in soon.

I love the hotfix crystals – super easy – I'm hoping I don't mess up on costume because the crystals were ridiculous!

I got my crystals from a local place – they were NOT cheap though I would siggest Ebay – there are FAR better deals on Ebay and you get WAY more crystals.

I spent $100 just on crystals!!!!

Can you use the Mylar paper with non hot fix crystals?  I just bought some gorgeous swarovoski crystals for a costume but they aren't hot fix so I was wondering what I was going to do.

Jenn, let me know if it's easier for you to have your pole shipped to my house – because that's an option 🙂

I'm 5'5 and I cannot get my fingers to touch on a 45, the moment I tried the 40 I fell in LOVE.  I could actually GRIP the pole – fingers touching and all.

You can come play on mine 🙂

  • I'm competing in regional elite!  YAY!  Time to find my mojo and it better come quick!

  • Can we start a running list?  I'm curious!  Who's in?

  • You can get into a basic inv crux from this position but it's much harder if you're lifting up into a cradle mount.

I do teach the basic inverted pose from an apprentice but from the ground – i'd have to video to show you.  And I do that it's a good way to get used to being inverted.  I started teaching this way after encountering students strong enough to do the basic invert but fearful of being in it.

As someone who is not flexible – I would not put any flexi moves in a routine.  I tried to do that last year and I think that it cost me because some of that "fake Flexiness" didn't look very good.

Amber once told me it is better to forgive flexibility for extension so instead of working on flexi, work on perfect feet and pushing through the backs of your knees, perfect upper body posture and movement.  People can miss what they don't see.  🙂

Are you a smoker?  Nicotine can make you sweat more because it increases your heart rate.  Smoking can be a cause of excessive sweating.

If not and you don't indulge in cafeinne it could be hyperhydrosis which is something a few of us polers suffer with.  I for one do.  I quit smoking and all caffeine for about 9-10 months and was still a slippery mess.  There is a product called Drysol you can use.  I've got some, haven't used it yet but it's a topical antiperspirant that can help.  There are other things you can do like botox and even oral medications you can take (I believe, don't quote me on oral meds though – but I remember someone saying there was something available.)

Pole Physics is great for keeping your skin soft and supple.  I use it in the winter time but not in the summer because it can be humid here.
