Always make them go first – hahaha!  Or just tell them you wouldn't run on the treadmill in front of them so why would you pole in front of them?

Either way don't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable in your own space with your pole.

Plus to the unknown eye a pole pole sit, climb or spin is usually pretty impressive.  You don't have to do a lot to get a fun and encouraging reaction 🙂

I agree with Chemmie!  I love stainless steal – it's my favorite finish and that's the only thing PS poles do well.  I have been cut  several times by the bottom adjustor cover.  The ceiling plate is just painted but isn't probably an issue unless you wear shoes…I've had metal flakes come down in my eye before.

I own 4 X-Pert X-poles and take 2 of them up and down and a apart all the time – I've only had 1 joint twist on me once in 2 years.  That's a pretty good track record.  I also got it out pretty easy.

If you like stainless get the a one piece from platinum or if you need a multi piece then get the X-pert chrome.  Unless you don't mind a top  loading pole that is  because like hotelchick said you can turn it over and make it top loading – that's up to you but I wouldn't dance around that cover piece – it's awful.

OMG!  this is one of my favortie moves!  I had thought it was possible to extend it – it may even feel better than reg elbow grip.

Layla will be there with a few people!  There are a bunch from London too so maybe you could ride to London then carpool the rest of the way?  You could also train ride it too – there are lots of people who would be willing to pick you up 🙂

I weart Bad Kitty, Mika and Vertical Edge Shorts.  My mika's and VE's are more covering than ,y BK's but then again everything I get from BK is for the purpose of being sexy and sporty – I wear them all for different reasons.  VE is great because they have HIPS built into them, lol and I love Mika becaus they are very covering for those times where I don't want my behind to show and the BK's for when I'm feeling frisky 😉

I remember when Veena started – she actually was not only near 30 but pole danced through her fourth pregnancy!!!!  Rockstar!

I'm 32 and although I started at 27 – I didn't really start to perform or comepete until I was 30.  I actually turned 30 before my first competition.

My best advice on getting "good" is just stay with it, don't over work your body and polish things up as you go – MOST IMPORTANT – have fun and love your body, afterall it's life giving!

Everyone is so different – what style of pole are you teaching?  Dance?  Dance with heels?  More fitness based?  how long are the classes?  Are they drop in or a series?

I spend anywhere from 10 minutes to a half hour warming people up – it depends on the warm up I'm doing since I have a floor and pole warm up so it's not like anyone is getting board.

I always start teaching transitions first then decide as a group if they are ready to pick their feet up off the ground and that decision is based on a lot of things including how coordinated everyone is.

Start with a good, solid warm up, some transitions and floor work – make sure they are comfortable with those things because if they have a hard time with coordination they can get injured on harder moves.

In all of my shows I have had a 45 X- Stage Lite and 50 Standard X-Stage – and I know it's a pain BUT it's all we have and we have a VERY small budget to work with because for half of our shows we didn't even charge so we haven't got the capital to get another pole.

I know for some it was a pain but everyone has  done really well and we give everyone advanced notice as to what they are dancing and that the 50 is in spin – it's been the best can do.

SSA – there are a lot of mixed feelings about that and I'm keeping my mouth shut because any thread regarding it gets ugly.

I will check around and see if I can reserve a block of rooms somewhere but honestly it's likely that the C0bus crew or the Veena crew has already stayed there and violated the place – hahah!  We'll see what I can do!
