Hi Veena! Wanted to check whether the videos in today’s lesson might have been pasted in by mistake from yesterday’s / Day 17’s lesson?
Somebody else just let me know that it’s messed up. I’ll fix it in a bit!
I had the wrong playlist for the day, it's all fixed now. This day is a REST day with a video about misconceptions to watch. Thank you for letting me know!!!
Yay, thank you for fixing it so quickly, Veena! And you are welcome :)
No problem!
Day 18 x ?? where's your 7 beliefs and misconceptions video? Xx
Oops, thanks for letting me know that video was missing. I've added the link into the description.
Thank you I've added to my favourite x
It would depend on what tricks you're struggling with. It's completely fine to have certain tricks you just don't do. The most important thing is listening to our bodies. Some ppl will never invert or do spins, pole can still be fun and a great workout.
I feel I'm slowly improving and can do about 75% of the intermediate tasks. I am 65 and also had rotator cuff repair a year ago so struggle with certain spins or moves requiring a lot of strength. I'm continuing on but its it's frustrating to not be able to do all the tasks. If you think I should repeat the beginner stuff vs forge ahead...let me know. Thanks!
A lot of the points in the misconceptions video resonated with me. When I started, I really thought I needed to be able to do every move perfectly before moving on. But sometimes, it just doesn't feel good in my body! I think it's great to challenge yourself and continue trying, but it's also so important to listen to your body and get rest.
I agree and pole can be such a good tool to help us learn when to push ourselves and when to determine something isn’t right for us. I used to be the kind of person who would push and push and push. Often saying no to something felt more scary than hurting myself to push through it. Still a work in progress for me, but much better than before.
Totally agree that saying no can seem way scarier than pushing through!! I've always been a bit of a perfectionist, but I have been learning to enjoy the progress, not just the end result. I think a great benefit to learning online is being able to go at my own pace and not having others around to compare myself to ?
Yes, I totally get that!
