to those with powerballs, which one should I get? I see some have different torque pounds to them (30 and 40 lbs.) What did you guys get???

I need to get me one of those powerball things for my wrists and hands. Just like you, I don't know which one to purchase.

I have the NSD Neon Pro Red and Green. Everything you could possibly want to know about powerballs can be found on theri site: http://www.powerballs.com/index.php?m=Home This is the only brand that is worthwhile, IMO.
Chem...I forget...is the NSD made by Dynaflex? It looks identical except the logo on the band. I have used the Dynaflex powerball for years and love it. As for the strength...since they all begin at 0 RPMs and go up from there, you can start with any model...just how strong will you eventually need to increase to? In my opinion, just buy the strongest one so that you don't out grow it.
oh sorry...I forgot about the torque...all my students have gotten the 40 pounds when they bought from me and had no problems using it other than coordination.

Dynaflex and NSD are 2 different companies. They are both pretty much the same but NSD has a better warranty and also higher models than Dynaflex. (This may have changed since I first bought mine). I did a lot of research and it appeared like that NSD are built better. I think they are about the same price and I got mine pretty cheap on ebay. The big difference is that you can buy the Dynaflex at some sports stores whereas you cannot with the NSD.
Not certain about the price differences but Dynaflex now carries models that go up to 60pounds of torque. The 25 year warranty is important but the only problem I've had is getting the string stuck! That's a pain on either model.
To those who have bought a powerball, where did buy yours from?
You can get them on ebay and Amazon. Some sports stores tend to sell the lower grade/speed of the Dynaflex. I got mine directly from the company as I purchased wholesale.
I just ordered the NSD signature powerball from amazon. When I was looking at them they all looked quite similar, I think this one has 40lbs torque and a speed meter. Plus it lights up, that has nothing to do with how good it is I just thought it looks pretty. If I ever feel like this one is too light I am getting the chrome version, it's got a lot more torque.

I got a cheap (25$) Dyna-Flex from the sporting good store. It does the job, but I find it quite loud. Not just the humming noise ( I guess that's hard to avoid), but also a chafing plastic rubbing on plastic sound. It's so loud that I really don't like to use it when watching movies because I don't understand a word. Hoping that is better with the Powerballs? I'm planning to upgrade to a NSD if I ever don't spend all my extra money on pole/yoga/dance classes ;) I should really use it more often, esp. for my left hand...
I have seen that the cheaper the model the more noise it makes...not sure if that is true with the NSD. Dynaflex has new chrome models which are even smoother but they cost a lot more!

I got one with the battery operated base. I suck at using it though. Sigh.

FYI - Here's a 20% coupon for NSDball.com: awful Shipping is like $5, which is not bad consider there's a lifetime warranty on NSD. My total came out to be like $43 (Cheaper than Amazon!!) I just bought a NSD Pro Fusion...can't wait till it arrive 😀
Hmmm, NSD has a self starting one that dowsn't require a string or dock. That is cool! My local REI only has the dynaflex one (with dock that goes to 38lbs.) It's $48... Still undecided...
