  • Help w/ pole that spins one way then the other

Hi this is actually a 2 part question: I’m working on finally getting my ayeshas on spin pole and I find it both scary and challenging. I’m proficient on spin pole (except for moves where I have to face the floor such as caterpillar and ayeshas). I can hold true, cup and elbow ayeshas for long periods of time so I know I have the strength. When I try to do them on spin pole, my pole kind of stalls and goes one way then the other. Maybe because I’m nervous and not giving it enough spin? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like your pole is too tight? https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/60ba672a-19f0-4bac-9a5f-6ffdac110005

If it’s not too tight have you watch the lesson for Ayesha here, I show you how to do this on spinning pole. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5eeba32c-8a74-4d52-99dd-0b84ac110005

Hi Veena! I did indeed watch your ayesha videos, still working up the nerve to be able to spin mine at that speed. 😅 I have a ceiling mount so I don’t think the tightness is an issue? I may have to just keep practicing getting over the fear of spinning in an ayesha, thank you for your help!

If you’re going really slow on spin you’ll get a back and forth action with a lot of moves. You can always post a video if you want me to see what’s going on.
