Hey ya'll, I didn't really want to talk much about Amber's routine b/c there is a surprise in it and I didn't want to give it away. I will say though that along with Jessalyn's exquisite piece, Amber's was my fav! It did tell a story, one that is important to her and that you'll recognise if you've read any of her blogs or read some of her writings here. I think she has been hesitant about putting her sexiness out there to display and she brought that to life on stage Saturday and totally owned it in her performance. At least, that was how I perceived it. It was really brilliant and mid-way through, she even had the croud laughing. It kept me enthralled from start to finish and I was so happy for her, being up there on that stage, to be able to share her life with us. It was a personal piece and it was such a pleasure to watch her perform. I did take one of her workshops this weekend and I will say two things. One, she is a talented instructor with thorough knowledge of anatomy/physiology. Take a workshop with her if you can!!! And two, she is stunning in person. She looks like an angel carved out of alabaster! Oh, and I have a third thing, so is oh so very sweet! i agree with angel.. ambers performance was really beautiful, and told a meaningful story about her personal pole journey. Everyone performed so well that night, i feel blessed to have shared the stage with them all...!! 🥂 Karol you kicked ass too girlfriend! When "The Garden" came on for your compulsory (I think it was) I was like "Oh Hell yes. I love this song!" and you killed it of course. I knew you were gonna be Miss Sexy. I knew it.
Hey everyone!!! Glad to see everyone is enjoying the USPDF videos I put up. Like I told people on FB. Enjoy it while it lasts before they take it down. I had a blast in NYC and chillin and meeting new polers. I am upset that Jessalynn didn't place but then again I'm biased.lol....Overall It was a great show. I can't wait until next year:)

I am gonna be so bummed if they get removed before I have a chance to see them. as long as no one rats anyone out the Wendy or Anna, we should be good to go. Maybe its just me but I dont see why you 'werent' to photo or film the competition. I understand they have an image to uphold as USPDF but I dont think anyone would use it in a bad way as were all out to promote Pole as a good thing. I only saw half of them last night. My brain could not process anymore tricks. I am also a bit biased w/Jessalynn's but it was soooo damn beautiful. I really thought for a second that it was a broadway show. It would of fit right in there.
If / When it gets taken down I'll put them up here:) I promise...🙂

Just as a general FYI: USPDF does record the competition to give to the competitors - but they can't sell DVDs to the general public because of the music rights. Maybe they'll be able to do that someday, but that's not the case right now. 🙂

Bah! I got a chance to watch Zoraya's and Sarah's all the way through, but by the time I was done with Sarah's the other videos were pulled.

I feel like we shouldnt be tagging the videos as uspdf on youtube, thats just asking for them to be taken down!
It seems the new "It" move this year was the Allegra. A lot of the competitors did it. jessalyn danced to phantom of the opera-- "all i ask of you"-- it's sung as a duet. i really wish i knew more about how the judges selected the winner-- NOT an easy task! the quality of performances were head and shoulders above last year. it's amazing to realize how much pole has evolved. a year ago, sarah's twisted grip handspring was THE new trick. women this year were doing iron Xs, flag presses to brass monkeys, TG lifts from a climb, shoulder mount CLIMBS... there was a lot of artistry and dance even though the physicality was so insane, everyone in amateurs did their optional routine without shoes, which i think was a reflection of the changed paradigm after amber won USPDF west. the show was really great to watch. i wonder how pole will evolve over the next year!

Wow that was fast... 0_0 I thought they would be up for at least a week! I hope this doesn't mean that they're going to crack down on the camera stuff next year... 😕 And yes, a lot of the competitors did the allegra... I wanted to pull my hair out when the host asked Allegra to demonstrate it! I was like, "We've seen it a million times already!" lol Oh well, no one can do the allegra like Allegra, anyway.

For those of you who wanted to know what Allegra danced to, the first song is "System" by Chester Bennington of Linkin Park from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. The second song was "Control" by Puddle of Mudd.
