S Girls please help!

I am DYING to learn how to execute the fluid S slinky movements that some of you girls have picked up from the S Factor studios If any could pass on some tips / advice I would sooo Love it! I wish there was a studio near me, but there is not. I have ordered their DVD's- all of them lol! The new ones didnt really teach anything new movement wise and was more work out focused where I was hoping to find more of a movement based DVD. Anyway,I have zero dance expereience and really struggling in this area. Trciks are coming easily for me but tying them together- not so much! Any tips / advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

I'd LOVE to go on that retreat!!!! I think that even sensual dancing and organic dancing need to be learned through loose choreography and practiced until it becomes a part of your movement. I teach a group class that is a follow the leader class and it's basically only transitions, all we do is switch up the way we go into them and we work on slowing up or moving faster and find seamless ways to get in and around the pole. I highly recommend picking 3-4 transitions and using them in a dance - just those transitions - when the transitions become a part of your body then the tricks easily fall into place. I find I have to practice dance as much as I have to practice certain tricks. If you have netflix see if you can get the Divine Movement DVD's they are very S Factorish.

Don't think, just LET GO. Let go of your mind and follow your body. Feel your surroundings and textures of the floor or wall. Let her move without planning or thinking of the next move. Feel your body and curves, play with your hair. Let your body be messy. Don't think, just flow.

@Charley, I don't have Netflix, do you have a link to the DM dvd's? I did a search and couldn't find them on amazon or otherwise...

I didnt see the divine movement on Netflix either. I would love to see these too!

I just surfed netflix and I can't find it either! I'll try to find the DVD today maybe it isn't called Divine Movement - although that is the name of the studio the woman who filmed the DVD's is from. From what I remember it's all off the pole moves but it was a really great DVD. I'll be back with more info soon I hope.

Ditto what Charley said. Even in S we did choreo for 2-3 sessions...I forget lol. Must check out the dvd you are talking about as well 🙂

I believe the Divine Movement dvd being referenced is actually called "Strip To It: Core Moves and Fantasies". It is important to get this title in the 'Strip To It' series and not the others because this is the only one taught by Divine Movement Studios based in Seattle.
