I've seen the vid on youtube about how to put up the pole but I'm wondering if it's as easy as that with just 1 person since I live alone? 🤓

I think it is easier to have two people when you are first learning how to put it up...but after a couple of times you can do it on your own....the hardest part is making sure its on a joist/stud.
I usually have my 3 year old help steady the pole. but she is not always there to help me. So when its just me i usually put the entire pole up then put the doom piece last. I put the dome piece behind me on the chair im standing on so i can reach it easy and slide it on, screw it up, and do my thing. Hope this helps. 🥂

I put my pole up by myself all the time. Once you get used to it, it becomes much easier. I would recommend purchasing a magnetic leveler device too, to help you make sure the the pole is perfectly straight. I have found mine to be extremely helpful and a real time saver.
I haven't gotten my x-pole yet, but I wanted to clarify something. This is taken directly off the x-pole website: "Step 4 - Locate the ceiling joists. Locate the ceiling joists by tapping with a finger or using a stud/joist locator. Adjust the base position to mid point between the joists. " http://www.xpoleus.com/assembly.html I read in another forum on this site that in the UK, you put the base, as described in the directions, between the joists, but in the US, you should put it ON the joist. Clarification anybody????????

Yes I was confused by the on/between joists too but figured all would be explained in the instructions. As for getting a child to help hold it; sounds like a good plan I have 3 of them running round (well, not right now since it's school time lol) so I guess between us we'll get it up 🙂 fingers tightly crossed that it comes tomorrow too if not then it should be monday ::happy dance::

PUT YOUR X-POLE ON THE JOIST!!! Veena said this in another topic somewhere... But for anyone that knows anything about home construction (in the US), the standard separation for ceiling joists is 16" on-center (16" between the centers of the joists). The dome for the x-pole is 15", so depending on how wide your joists are, you'll either miss it completely or you'll just barely be touching. Ceiling joists are closer together in the UK, so it would be more stable to put them between the joists there because it would be touching 2 of them. And I'm waiting for the FedEx truck right now for my x-pole...

Yes in the US the joist are farther apart than the UK. Again something I wish X pole US would include in there instructions!! US...center on one joist UK....place between two joists. 😀

My x-pole finally got here and I put it up basically on my own; my husband had to go to work. The hardest part for me was making sure it was perfectly straight. Next time I take it down I'll definitely be using a level to put it back up again. But all in all it's pretty straightforward. You shouldn't have much trouble.

Well it came 😀 and I've managed to put it up myself and it feels very sturdy! Will be having a play on it when the children have gone to bed, I did have to have a quick whizz on spinny mode though and, well.. wheeeeeeeeeee is all that came to mind lol
Hopefully I will be getting my pole soon too. I was worried about the joists not being close enough or there wasn't going to be enough reinforcements...I've seen too many youtube videos so I'm worried whicever pole I get may fall down. My husband and his brother cut up a 2x4 and climbed into the attic to add more joists for the pole to connect to. I'm in the US so the joists in my ceiling were far apart but now if I get an Xpole the base could be holding onto more than just one joist. This may be helpful to some if you worry about the worst happening like I do. 🙂

I had a hard time finding joists upstairs but found them really easily down here, my ceiling is dipping or something up there too 😕 I must have done something really wrong when measuring the height of my ceilings in both rooms though because I was sooooo out lol I've had to order the 100mm extension because upstairs I ended up either having to put the 250mm on and pulling it in to place and it *just* fit or the 125 and screwing it out loads, Downstairs I had to put the 250 on and screw the adjuster out loads too (probably too much) but the 125 made it just a touch to tall for the room lol Tell ya I'll pass out the day something just goes right for me 😂
I had a 3.05m ceiling height last night, but the pole needed 2 x 1000mm, 1 x 500mm and a 250mm to make it work. It held fine (husband ensured it was all tight and good) and held up for me teaching kids, adults and playing on it myself. (Accountants new years party - end of tax year, she asked me to come along and play / teach). Make sure it's really tightly against the ceiling, I checked one today at the studio, tight, then it came crashing down. We've cracked the tubing in the middle of the dome, bruised my leg and I damaged the wall... 😂 Thankfully I have a spare dome at home, but we're waiting for x-pole to advise if we can get a new dome / tubing. Thankfully I married a mechanical engineer. What I have noticed is that ceiling measurements can be deceptive, I usually go down 125mm from the ceiling height.
