Problems with my new Lil Minx spinning pole

I just got it out of the box and put it up, and the spinning is a little "sticky." It spins slowly, and kind of makes a bit of a grinding noise. I'm thinking it might need a little WD-40? Has anyone had this problem? Also, anyone out there with the new locking mechanism? I can't get it to function. Supposedly, you just step on the pin and it spins, then step on it again to make it stationary, Once the pole was up, there was too much tension to make the thing move, and I had to use an allen wrench to lower it so it could spin, and now there's no easy way to make it stationary. Help!

I put a little wd40 between my poles when I first got mine. As for the new system, I have the old one, do no advice on that. Lmk poles will rub, that is the way they are made......

Thanks for the advice. I think I fixed both problems. For the locking mechanism, there's a tiny little screw that we found and loosened, and now it works perfectly. As for the spinning, it seemed the pole was rubbing on the mount. I've got a vault ceiling, so didn't account for the extra 2 inches or so of the vault ceiling mount when I measured. However, with a TON of WD-40, it seems to be spinning much more smoothly than when I first put it up.

Of u put a ton on, it will work out to the bottom, so b sure to wipe it along the base n a few days....

I believe Randy said NOT to use WD-40. I think he told Pixi to use liquid graphite on hers.

Yes, that is what I heard to about the wd40, but I used it anyway.... :)

A little warning about WD-40 on Lil Mynx poles.... WD-40 is petroleum based and will have a negative effect on the polycarbonate parts at the rotator base. Liquid graphite, or any water based lubricate, is recommended.

Where is this tiny screw? I got an LM a couple of months ago, but there were no instructions on how to put it in spinny and the video on the web site didn't work. I've been twisting the big screw up and down, but it's onerous and awkward. How did you know about stepping on it? How do find the tiny screw? Help! I've only had it on spinny twice because of this and it IS kind of sticky?

There's a tiny screw that's perpendicular to the one that goes up and down. If you loosen that screw, the big one will go up and down easily. I hope that helps.

Wondering if any studio owners have these new lil minx rotators with the push button to unlock. Every time we use them in class, they get unlocked anytime we slide down the pole and accidentally sit on the button or hit it in a spin or coming out of an invert. Then they are hard to pull up, we have to use pliers to do so. Its unsafe (especially for beginners) and disruptive in class if we are working on routines or anything for that matter. I contacted the company but they said Im the only one with this issue, that no other studio with them has any problem and the only solution is to tighten the little screw so I cant put it in spin mode anymore. The problem is I teach spin in classes as well and need them to work properly. Any insight would be great. Thanks

No, what he said is that it would be very hard to put it back in spin. I would have to unscrew each pole again to push the button down

Do you have a picture of this mechanism? I have never seen the rotators and any image I get on a search does not show buttons.

I will take a picture when I get back to the studio. It looks like the old screw they had, but you push it down now instead of screwing it

I seem to have been able to get the pin the right amount of tightness, because it goes up and down pretty easily, but I don't find myself unlocking it accidentally by stepping on it. Maybe try to tighten the perpendicular screw just a little bit? I agree, I've seen the older mechanism with the Lil Minx poles and I think it worked much better. I'm sorry they changed it. I can imagine it would be difficult for a beginner class to get the hang of while trying to learn everything else.

I will try that, it was recommended to me to do so. Hope it will help, but also not make it impossible to unlock. Thanks for the advice
