Poling after breast enlargement !

Hello everyone ! First of all iv been poling for 4 months and am starting to learn more advanced tricks (I just got my teddy, shoulder mount and extended butterfly yay!) I'm having breast implants in 3 weeks and was just wondering how long it was before any of you polers with implants started dancing again? And how you got back into it? I'm so sad to have to take time off!! Xxx

Congrats on your soon-to-be boobies! I've only been poling for two years but I've had my implants for going on ten. When I got them I was on the rowing team in college and was competing in fitness competitions. My Dr. cleared me after two weeks for lower body exercise and I believe it was only a month for upper. Don't let some of the stories on here freak you out, if you have a good Dr. you should have no probs and during your time off you can go bra shopping ;)

It took me a good 3 months to get back on the pole.. I kept trying to come back slowly but it just never worked.. But after a while i just got on the pole and was all magically better.. You just gotta wait it out. Listen to your body and dont push your self! It will come back.

I just got implants a month ago, and this week I began working out again. I feel totally normal, but I haven't been cleared to pole or do aerials (anything else "rigorous" or that uses chest muscles) for another 2 weeks. So at 6 weeks post-op, you will be back on the pole. But at that point, you'll be easing yourself back into pole, not jumping back to where you were pre-op. Also, if you're worried about loosing strength & flexibility during your month-month & a half off, don't! I was super scared to loose flexibility I gained from doing Alethea's Pure Splits. But on Monday I began the Pure Splits DVD again and I was suprised to see that I haven't lost ANY flexibility except in my calves! I was stiff, sure, but I was able to work into the stretches I was doing before. Good luck!

@Spinderells --- I´m so glad to hear that. I´m alsoo 1 month post OP and I´m so afraid that I`ll loose all my strength and flexibility. I have to wait another 2 weeks until I can slow start my workouts again yeeaahhhh. Does anybody has any muscle distortion when doing lifts or handspring, ect. ? I have mine under the muscle.

:) Thanks for the replys every one!! Just 18 sleeps aha! can't wait to get the done, be recovered & get back to working out. At least i'll have time to focus on my flexibility while im off the pole! Im the most unflexible person ever!! @Spinderells i'm going to buy Alethea's Pure Splits! Heard so many good things! Hopefully i can get my splits this year : ) xxx

They said none of that to a lot of my friens atfirst too(stretching). Think it was nothing for 2-4wks

Yeahh they've said nothing that raises the pulse for two weeks and can resume everything after 4 but i don't think my surgeon really understood about poling so will probably take more time off than that.

imo, I don't think you even need them😉 Also know a ton of girls who dance and they seem fine right after. just wear a sports bra or two at first when you do start again.

my surgeon told me that the reason why you need to take time off from sport is to give time for the pocket to build and for the implants to settle in with your tissue. The highest risk for the implants to move upwards is 1-2 months post OP. What are 6weeks compare to your life. the operation is expensive and also not an easy ride. I wouldn´t take the risk and stay calm for that time. Of course there are girls who started to pole again after 2 weeks post OP but can not say if they have any problems after 2 years or after 5 years. And if something bad happend of course its the bad work of the surgeon. Listen to your surgeon and your body!!!
