lol yes HAHAHAHAHAHA 😂 😂
"Well, since you're asking... If I saw one somewhere I'd just think it was tacky, and that they weren't smart enough to have thought it through. That's just my opinion. Bit humourless tonight, I'm afraid. " She was right on that last statement --- she's humourless, and she's afraid. One of the advantages of being 50-something is that no one accuses me of being a stripper!!! I started at 55, and look what it's done for me in just a year ... there's jayjay here, also in her 50s, mother of a teenage girl. I think we look pretty darn "respectable" in our pictures (although I do have a couple where I'm aspiring to look tarty! but not tacky) Well, the close-minded ladies on that forum are going to listen to what you have to say, but show this to your own mum. Mine was a bit taken aback when she found out ... after she saw the pictures of me looking fitter and stronger than I had ever been in my life, well, she sees it a bit differently now. My stepmother is bragging to all her friends!
I haven't even looked at the thread because stuff like that angers me so greatly. I have always been a sexual, attractive person, and I have taken shit from women my whole life for it. Honestly it has made me a little bitter. I begin to lose track of why I do what I do in the first place and just start "tellin' em like it is" (i.e. pointing out all of the reasons they are insecure with themselves and feel the need to degrade me). Knowing that this is unproductive and generally mean... I just try not to have conversations with people like that. I have been blessed with a good vocabulary and the ability to choose words and phrases that sting like a snake bite, but that won't get me anywhere. People have asked me why I post so many videos on my youtube. I currently have 39 videos, including practice videos, full song dances, etc. I have been outright accused of only posting videos so that I can be ogled by men, because I need to feel sexy. Well what those people don't realize is that I don't need to post a video to feel sexy, I feel sexy because I'm a smokin' hot pole dancer, that's why! And I post videos because I feel like I am a part of a revolution. A revolution to evolve the general perception of pole dance away from something that is automatically assumed to be a negative thing. I'm hoping that the final product will turn the phrase "pole dance" into a positive, but at best I'm hoping for at least a neutral response. I got a comment a while ago on one of my videos that pretty much sums up why I put myself out there on youtube: "Wow!! I just watched your 1st video and then this one-- I am so inspired by your progress!! I just started classes last week and am getting my pole on Monday. I hope I progress as quickly as you have. Right now I can't even imagine a one-handed grip,? much less the rest of that fancy stuff you did on this vid. Off to watch the rest of your journey- thanks for the inspiration. I'll start my own, soon!" And my response to this comment was: "oh my goodness thank you so much! 🙂 This is the exact reason I post my practice videos on youtube... not for vanity reasons, but in hopes that someone will learn something from me or gain inspiration. Good luck and have fun on? your pole journey!" Vive la revolution! 🫡
I just want to add to this thread, that for all these...ahem...'people' keep referring to the pole as some kind of phallic symbol, not once in the almost 10 months that I've had my pole have I looked at it and gone 'Holy shit, there's a giant penis in my living room!!' I don't know about you guys, but I have yet to see a penis that is about 2 inches wide, eight feet tall, and shiny. I think I would run from it if I did. 😂
some of those people I feel sorry for b/c with such closed minds they are missing out on the GREATEST form of exercise and its their loss 🙂~ and SO FREAKING WHAT if we do want to dance sexy for our men its imo no different than doing our hair nice or dressing a little sexy for them or even wearing makeup and there is not a damn thing wrong with any of it, when I first got my pole I was adamant about it being seen as a piece of exercise equipment and not for stripper moves but now I just do not give a damn even though it is only for working out I let them think what they want b/c there is no harm done. ugh some of those people disgust me but like I said its their loss 🙂

People like that are pointless to argue with, because even if you make a very elaborate well written bullet proof argument they cant possibly logically disagree with, they will just say you have been brainwashed to think that way. I like the 'Closed minds should have closed mouths' comment too haha

*warning* I left that site up all day so I could finish reading all the comments, and I only go to a specific few sites, and I got a virus on my computer. Since that is the only site ive been to lately that I dont usually go to I believe it was that site that was the culprit. Maybe I wouldnt of gotten it if I hadnt left it open all day, who knows. But im just warning you guys.
I don't know about you guys, but I have yet to see a penis that is about 2 inches wide, eight feet tall, and shiny. I think I would run from it if I did. 😂 hahaha love it!!!! I read more and honestly these women are just so stuck up. Reading the comments makes my blood boil, true they do have their heads so far up their asses they don't understand were in the 21 century here people. GET A FRICKING CLUE. ugh oh no!! *doing a virus check stat!!!*
They are VERY stuck up, you're right. That was my first thought reading through all those comments. If they want to be snooty about it and not participate in it themselves, fine, but I don't know where they get off making comments like the OP might as well suck off the postman and assuming that she's tacky, whoreish, and a little bit stupid just because she's got a pole in her living room. All penis/pole jokes aside, I have never looked at a pole in a sexual manner. Yes, obviously I know strippers dance on/around them in clubs, but never once have I looked at a pole and seen anything sexual in nature about it. It's just a pole--it's what I do around or on it that is sexy, not the pole itself. For instance, my friend brought her 2-year-old boy over a while back; he's been to my apartment before, but this was the first time he'd been there since the pole went up. He immediately ran to it and tried to climb it, so we picked him up and held him a little ways up the pole until he grabbed on, then let go (keeping our hands right there to catch him if he were to fall, of course,) and let him slide down fireman style. He had a blast! He kept wanting to go higher and higher, until finally we were putting him as high as we could safely get him. It was obviously one big jungle gym to him; is that wrong? I mean, are people honestly going to insist that my friend and I are morally bankrupt for allowing her two-year-old to slide down a pole? If someone sees sexual connotations in a child playing on a pole, than they are the ones with a few screws loose, not pole dancers. It is they who cannot separate the sexy side of pole from the artistic/athletic side, not us, and that is their problem.
Ok, so i went to the link and expected a few pages...there were 16 pages of waffle! I think the best comparison I ever saw was on the Vertical Dance site where they compared Pole dancing to gymnastics on the beam. I don't have the energy to accept the rantings of the posters on the site but geez...you think people would be more open minded about this stuff. In about 10 years when the launch it in schools up and down the country I wonder where all those comments will sit then? Whoops, I forgot they already did....it's called a rope in the school gym! Muppets! Pk

Had both loads of giggles and loads of outraged moments while redaing a selection of those posts. Some people have already voiced my opinions on the matter but can't help venting! The way some of those women tallked gave me the impression that it's ok to have sex with the lights off then pretend it didn't happen but you aren't allowed to enjoy the act! They were condemning women for feeling sexy and being active participants in the sexual side to their lives. Surely women's liberation offered women the chance to make their own choices and act on them without an old-fashioned matriarchy there to shoot them down?? what worries me the most is that a lot of their children will be brought up closed minded. As far as i'm concerned any form of blind intolerance, whatever the subject, can only cause harm. opinions will continue to polarise into 'them' and 'us' mentalities which will cause hurt and distress to people - like that original poster (whose husband should grow a pair and be proud of his wife!) I'm a school teacher - i'd love to teach the pupils pole! my niece and nephew love climbing and spins and my dance teacher's daughter is amazing. Another woman, an active charity campaigner with children, actively encourages her boys to pole. Pole dancing comes in many forms, like literature and film. Just because we may find some elements of it 'wrong' or 'distasteful' or 'tacky' doesn't mean we should castigate or ban the whole institution or the people involved in it. rant over. still fuming though. where are my thigh highs? 😉
did any of these women ever consider to take belly dancing classes. Do they know where this sort of dancing comes from? maybe some of them learned latin american dances? aren't they pretty sexy too? in dancing, mostly man lead. how feminist is that? letting the man lead??? ah that makes me so angry! female empowerment is about making your own choices! and obviously they are not allowing somebody else to choose! I choose to be a pole dancer! I choose to be a kindergarten teacher! and guess what - dancing does not interfere with raising children! 🥂

yea they allow you to choose as long as you dont make the 'wrong' choice

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive only read the first few comments on the ladies post and Im already infuriated!!! I KNOW I shouldnt read any further but I just cant help it!!! 😮 😲

Phew! I ACTUALLY read the whole thing, all the comments and I am now calmer! There were a couple of negative comments to Veena's message but only a couple so thats not so bad! Most people really liked the video link that Veena posted. The guy that posted the sexy video of Veena angered me but someone highlighted how there were none of her kids in her room at the time and how Veena had already said she does sexy dancing privately so I calmed down! Basically what I got from the comments is that there are some people that are too close minded and they will NEVER accept pole dancing as a form of art or fitness so its best to just leave those people alone. There is no point wasting your breath cause it will fall on deaf ears!! 🙄
