mirror help

so i've been looking on craigslist for a mirror for my 'studio' (which is my living room) that I can set up and take down. I found one that i'm going to look at tomorrow-a bathroom remodel mirror that is HUGE--3' by 7'. I'm figuring that if I get it, I can mount it to a piece of plywood and slide it out when I need it. I'm sure someone has done something similar--did you attach it with those mirror clip things? and I want to be sure it's stable and won't slip--I'm planning to lean it against a wall, but I have hardwood floors, so how do I keep it from slipping? Thanks!

I'd mount it on the wall instead of leaning it against the hardwood. Knowing it may slip, even if looks sturdy. Or maybe add a rubber frame? *shrug* Bathroom remodel mirrors are the best quality mirrors as they are heavier/harder/thicker than standard wall mirrors.

I have a couple tall mirrored closet doors I picked up off Kijiji (similar to Craigslist), which I just have leaned up against the wall. I bought some of that rubber matting that people use for lining kitchen cupboards and put that down underneath. Seems to keep the mirrors from slipping around on my hardwood.

I was going to mention buying a cheap (but cool looking) yoga mat. That wouldn't slip on the floors and the mirror wouldn't slip on it. I have a mirror about that size and I can't imagine holding it up with those mirror clips since mine is very thick and heavy. But you can be the judge of that. :)

ooh--the grippy rubber mats or yoga mats are a smart idea! thanks! i know i'd need to attach the mirror to the plywood somehow (adhesive?), then figured i'd add clips for extra strength, but i will see what it's like. thanks again, i'm excited that i may have a mirror soon. :)

You could get the cheap door mirrors from walmart for about $5 and tear off the frames then use double sided tape to adhere them to plywood. If you use multiple mirrors you can create a larger mirror. I had to go this route to fill the space between my large mirror and floor because the outlet prevented me from hanging my mirror too low to the ground.

ooh, awesome. that's great too, so if this other mirror doesn't work out that's what i'll do. yeah! :)
