Hi everyone. I will be purchasing a removable lil' minx pole rotator and would like to ask if you like yours? Is it sturdy and most importantly will the ceiling mount most likely destroy my ceiling and joist? I also would like to know which kind people prefer using. Stationary or rotator? Do most people go with a rotator? thanks heaps, donna

I have a lil mynx rotator and love it! I think it was the right choice for my situation. I have had mine up for about a month now, and have yet to see any damage to the ceiling. Its very sturdy, i can climb, invert, spin and do whatever on it. Its one screw and the ceiling mount is small, it really does look like a plant hanger. I typically use it on stationary because i believe that is where you develop your strength from and i find it easier to learn new things if its sitting still. But i do like that when i want to try a spinning move that it is simple to switch. Basically i bought the rotator so i didnt have to buy 2 poles to learn both things.
I had a LM as my first pole for 3 years and would still have it if I had not won an XPole. It was standard, not rotator. LM has changed their installation directions so the eating of the ceiling is not as common.
I have one(black, standard) and I do not like it. I think the reason for this is the studio has xpoles and they feel quite different(better) to me. As soon as it's financially possible, I will be getting a 45mm xpole. Also, if you can get the spin, do it - I say this because you don't have to use it on spin, but it's nice to have it available to play with. My pole is several years old and I haven't seen any issues with the ceiling.

I have a SS lil mynx rotator and I hate it. I'm ordering an X-pole. The SS is so slippery, even when warm and I've used it daily for months. So I think it should be sufficiently "broken in". Lil Mynx told me I'd need to purchase a pole a few inches longer than my actual ceiling height. I have exactly nine foot ceilings and their poles come in 8-9 ft and 9-10 ft. I bought the 9-10 ft. So I put it up and the pole moves around some, even though there is no way I can extend the pole further. It's probably because my studs are metal and not wood. This has eaten the ceiling down to the wood (or whatever ceilings are made out of) in a circular pattern around the pole. Not only that but because the pole is so tight to my ceilng, the spin mechanism gets jammed routinely. So basically the pole isn't tight enough to not move and it is tight enough to jam the spin mechanism. All around fail.
I love my powder coated LM, and have not had any problems with it except I wish is was smaller. I used a SS LM and as Megan siad, it was SLICK!!!!! So, I would at least stay away from Stainless.....

I have the Lil Mynx red powder coated and love it. I have both a static and rotator because I didn't just get the rotator first. I also have the 45mm XPole Xpert chrome, and hardly ever use it anymore because the grip isn't as good for me as the powder coated. Personally, I recommend that people starting out learn on static first and then move on to spin. Just my opinion, but I know a few veteran dancers that learned on a sponning pole first and have a really hard time doing spins on a static pole.
I have had a Lil Mynx stainless steel stationary for about four and a half years, and it's been my only pole. I love it. I'm planning on upgrading it to a rotator (apparently they're coming up with some kind of kit) so, that should be fun! I've found that the ceiling thing will crunch into stucco ceiling a bit, but you can just fill it in with Polyfilla, and you're fine :) The Joists have never had an issue!
Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your opinions on lil' minx. I am going to be ordering mine tomorrow morning. I was worried about it chewing up my joist but after reading all your replies I know it won't be a issue. Again, Thanks so much for everyones input. Donna, just make you adjust the height BEFORE putting it up!
I had a lil minx black powder coated rotator and I HATED it! The damn thing ate up my ceiling and when it was on spin it would pop out of the mount. VERY DANGEROUS!!! Never again will I pole on spin on a lil minx. I now have two X-poles that I TRUST and LOVE!
