When we move there will be 2 extra rooms.I want to make one a room for pole.Ladies or guys for that matter,what would you do?Color,flooring,theme,lighting,ect....anything

I love this topic! I have my pole in my bedroom right now. I would love to have a pole room that was bright pink with lots of purple curtains/accents. I would fill it with mirrors, plants and pretty white twinkly lights. :) one day it will happen...one day....
lol but really whatever works for you. What types of styles, colour themes work best for you?

i definetly think mirrors are a good idea as they always help in seeing what you are doing....I think another great idea is building in a place for mounting a camera for recording. I always end up balancing mine on stuff to get the right angle. It would be a great idea to incoporate something that like into the design.
What about color?I have heard color affects performance?

I don't think color matters as much as the lighting. I prefer a soft light (so I don't see my cellulite in the mirrors haha). In my pole room I have a few small funky glass lamps on the floor and sometimes I turn on my Mipole. I also have cute floor cushions handy, a small table for my laptop. And you know how ballerinas mount their old pointe shoes on the wall? Well, I've mounted my stilleto boots and clear heels. I can't dance in them, but they sure do look pretty in my pole room! :)
Def have mirrors in mine, I also want it large enough where I could do creative videos with my pole stuff. Very music video like. I love doing those. Different mounts for camera angles since I like to play with those as well. A small place where I could do my sewing. And lights on the floor I can adjust.

Oooh hardwood floors! Dont' want any carpet for obvious reasons! Those darn carpet burns! Mirrors mirrors mirrors! And like Krissy said, a place for your camera and mount. Gummy also mentioned a good point, a small table for your laptop and/or ipod dock.

Drapey silky curtains in whatever color theme you go with. I like the purple thing, but I think I'd take it a bit more burgundy and mix with apricots and golds. I'm just not much of a bubblegummy type. Black lights are always cool. Can we put mirrors in the floor with string lights running out like a spider web from the base of your pole? You could get an LED color pattern, or stick with a solid, or do blinking, racing, then steady pattern of a solid color. If you plan to be showing off for SO/Guests/Visitors, make sure they have somewhere comfy and cool to sit. Expensive, I know, but those high heel lounges are awesome. And you need a place to stash your wipe/alcohol/pole whatevers/other exercise equipment you keep in pole room like yoga mat etc. And maybe a coat rack or swivel for shoes and clothes. http://www.lovesac.com/sacs/pillowsac.html ; Yes, definitely hardwood or vinyl/laminate floors. You can get nice hardwood looking laminates that are replaceable when your heels scratch them up. Uh... Disco ball? Lava lamp? What kinduh budget do we have here cuz I could go super pimp with this lol.

I have my own pole room! I had so much fun putting this area together. Initially, I used it as an at home studio/home school where I taught private lessons. Since returning to college for a second degree, I've decided to teach from my local studio only and keeping my home studio for personal use. My studio: Walls: I used a light purple/lilac color. I love the color purple and this color looks great in this room. It actually made the room look bigger. Mirrors: I have one wall that is a full length mirror. (This may have something to do with that bigger room concept as well.) Floor: My husband and I built a custom hardwood floor dance space which is over my carpet area. I didn't want to tear up the carpet in the room so I just built a subfloor over it. Lighting: I have a hot pink light that I can use when I'm wanting to dance during the evenings in a dimly lit atmosphere. I also have a Mipole pole light and regular room lighting that also allows me to dim. Equipment: I have 2 poles currently up- a 50mm original xpole and a 45mm xpert- both chrome. I also have a 50mm Lil' Mynx black powder coated pole in the closet. And my latest addition is an aerial silks rigging which I mostly use for aerial yoga. The aerial rigging is easy to remove so I can put my pole in place. I also have hoops for hooping, mats, and custom made foam rollers. I have my own pole space too. You can see it in my videos. Two poles, but thinking I may want to get a 40 mm X also. I got a huge mirror for $40 and as kobajo did, put some wood right over the carpet. I have a video on how we made the floor and it was super cheap. I completed my pole space for under $200.00 (minus the poles)
I love the ideas.I am going to try to go all out with this.On the plus side my mom can save money on almost everything,she can give me tips or be my buying agent.Too bad she does not want to pole.....Anymore ideas?I am really getting a kick out of this! :)

What are these mipole lights?!
I turned our sunroom into a pole room. It has a large bay window that opens up the whole room, draped with Waverly woven drapes on just the sides and Allen+Roth white sconces. Maple hardwood flooring. A standing hallogen studio light and a Jonathan Adler capri sconce for lighting. At night, I use a white Japanese room divider to cover the bay window. The room itself is creme walls with white crown moldings. I have a super large thick mirror that I plan on mounting and then frame with white crown molding. A bay window....I wouldn't even hope for that.Thanks for the ideas.I would love somemore if I have not exhausted your imaginations yet.

I am in the process of turning a guest bedroom into a pole room. Walls are a soft "Mesa Sand" color; the door, closets and trim is white. My pole 50 mm xpole is in the middle - had to remove the ceiling light/fan fixture to put it there on the joist so I will have to get a portable tall fan when the temps get over 100 degrees. I have a small table in one corner for my laptop, a floor lamp with 3 adjustable lights in another corner, a table lamp, a chair (for lap dance practice) and a lightweight chaise for anyone who wants to watch to sit on ... lol. I still need to get mirror(s) which will go on one wall and frame my new Divine Goddess Kuan Yin posters which will go on another wall. And, put in 1-2 palms. Will post some pics when I have it all (or mostly done). I am having a great time with this project!

I actually have a question ... I have a tile floor in my pole room. Is that bad? I have no idea. I'm completely new to poling. It seems a bit slippery at times, which can be good or bad. Is a hardwood floor the "best" for pole?
Divika.I am new to pole too.Actually you are farther ahead than I am,because I don't even have a pole yet (45mm stainless steal x pole in mind)but I have a strong feeling tile is bad.Imagine falling on that!Or it getting cracked under your pole.Maybe some cheap laminate under your pole?Ladies,Is tile bad for a pole room?Your advice is the only friendly side of pole.It will help alot.Thanks in advance. :)

I have a pole room, it has wooden flooring, and although it is lacking in mirrors currently(just gotta get the bf to get them up on the wall), there is a whole wall of plain glass windows which at night time if I backlight the room works just like mirrors. The colors are light and airy and I love it so much. There is also special dirt resistant easy clean paint on the ceiling above the pole to save it from footprints, lol!

I love my pole room. It is a large round room with 6 full windows with white shutters. There is a full wall that I pit a large full length mirror. The room is nautical theme, navy blue and white. I have a version 3 platnium stage pole with 3 different size and 2 different finish. My hubby bought a hardwood floor vynl sheet that i cut ti round size to put over the black panels of the stage for better gliding in heels. I have a beautiful centerpiece medallion and in the center of that is my rigging hook for my om yoga hammack, aerial silk and also aerial hoop. I also use this room as a hot yoga room with 3 infrared heater and 1 strong humidifier. I can get the room heat up to 40 degrees in less than an hour to do my hot yoga. I ordered a galazy multicolor lazer for a lazer show while im dancing. I have a TV and cd player in there to also follow along with my dvds. And surround sound stereo. I love my pole/yoga room. It is my sanctuary.
