I mean making posts to bash as trolling not this thread lol

I'm curious- is there any other motives behind trolls? Are they working on hacking the system or people's accounts when they come on a website to cause disruption? Are people replying to their antics setting themselves up to become a victim of a more sinister motive? I have a hard time believing that someone has THAT much time in their life to be that bored and want to just go on a website and create problems. I guess nothing should surprise me but I was just curious as if there were some malicious hidden internet schemes going on out there we should all be aware of?
Luvlee, maybe we could have outtrolled that troll. ;) Kobajo, I am marrying a network security analyst in February, so I have lots of access to the internet underbelly. I mean, this guy roped me into playing World of Warcraft for a little while (which was an enlightening and entertaining experience). As far as I can tell, most trolls don't have criminal intent. They see themselves as flushing out the n00bs (newbies) and overly histrionic commenters. They get their jollies from baiting comment threads to get 100+ angry replies. Payton Place was probably rolling over and dying laughing over that comment thread, unfortunately. Just like at the playground, lots of kids are there to have fun, but there are always a few who get their kicks from bullying the others, so as the old saying goes, "Sticks and stones . . ." One final word--I applaud the way Veena and the webmaster handled the situation. They gave the troll a measured answer and then moved away. It's the only way to answer a troll, if a troll is answered at all. It would have been best if Payton's comment had just been buried at the bottom of the board within a few minutes because no one replied, but at least the webmaster only reacted to the legal terms in her post and moved on.

I have to agree with LopsiJulie & Cherished.. this is getting out of hand I vote for both posts to be removed, forgotten about and move on

I think it's better to treat bad behaviour as bad behaviour - keep it lonely and unresponded to regardless of intent than start worrying about who's a troll, what a troll is, or whether it's trolling to call a troll a troll... I once got called a troll on another pole dance forum. A group of posters and moderators were talking about a well known studio, claiming dancers took steroids, they looked like men, they had to shave their facial hair, and generally being quite nasty. As someone who'd been to that studio I posted firstly correcting the incorrect belief they had, then pointing out that their comments were mean spirited and that questioning a woman's feminity based on physical traits (especially in a way that implied less feminine = bad person) was not cool. I had a moderator blast me for being "too politically correct" and tell me I was clearly a troll. I left that forum, and as far as I know they're still all sitting around being catty instead of practicing and wondering why the dancers they criticise are better than them. I guess my point is, I've seen it happen on a couple on non-pole forums too that when you start thinking about trolls you start seeing them everywhere, and eventually troll comes to mean "everyone who disagrees with the cool group". That hasn't come close to happening here, but I don't want it to ever even get close to that. I'm talking in general because in the other post things got a bit ridiculous. But, as someone who had the exact same fault with my x-pole as many other people, I'm worried about a slippery slope from "people who make wild and nasty accusations related to x-pole are trolling" which is reasonable to "anyone who says anything negative about x-pole is a troll" which is what I've seen happen elsewhere on the net.
It wasn't that she simply had a negative opinion about X-pole. She was insulting, name-calling, and using angry accusatory language. I think that is obvious. It would have to be that obvious to be considered trolling on this forum, I believe. Of course we wouldn't label someone a troll simply for their pole brand preferences. This is about knowing what to do when this type of extreme occurs.

I am unfollowing this post now. Glad the drama seems to be gone but keep in mind just in general if there is an Internet troll they always have another normal account where they comment, have friends, and can see all these posts. Just an FYI. :)

The girl was a real member and was taking the lessons, she had also posted in previous forum topics. She has asked to be removed, so there is really no need to continue on with this topic. ❤️

@Lopsi I AGREE; it was fine to post the link; thank you. But I can't believe this is happening on Veena. Can you imagine this poor girl reading this? Sorry we pushed someone out of the community. :(

Many veeners offered to help her and showed sympathy. Unfortunately her other interactions on this forum were aggressive as well. I don't feel she was chased away.

im sorry to pop everyone s bubble, but it totally looked like a paid informercial for x pole... Yes the name calling was too much but she is right on a few points , wich no one will admit for X reason(s) its not because someone disagree with you thats its a troll.... I have strong opinions too and i stopped posting on studio veena because when i had an opinion ( positive or negative) people would freak out and I always end up being the bad one BOUHHHH!!
@oliviaaa - Hey, if you want to take the time to share, I'd love an email from you explaining how we could do better next time.

Sorry you felt that you were unwelcome. It seems that a strong, negative post will receive a strong reaction. Not everyone will or should agree with each other but it's important to learn how to voice yourself without name calling or total disrespect. Disagreeable people tend to dislike a positive atmosphere. If you have any other issues about the video I made please feel free to email me :)

oliviaaa, I am not sure if that was meant to be funny? I see the :P at the end but many here may not pick up on that.
I think oliviaaa may be joking but, I want to be very clear. No one paid us to do that. KEITH FROM PLATINUM STAGES actually requested the review and sent us the pole. This is the only problem I have with anyone's comments, is the assertion that we were paid or somehow incentivized by X-Pole. Keith from Platinum Stages asked for a demo of his pole which is something we really don't do but he was insistent and one of his suggestions was a side by side review which we felt was the only fair way to take on a product demonstration, which is something that we have never done in any significant way. We receive no incentives from X-Pole or Platinum stages, and the revenue from our pole sales wouldn't buy you lunch in a month. You'll notice that there are positives for the SSA listed in there but the detractors are too busy calling BS that they don't notice. 1) The Platinum Stages is 55 lbs lighter 2) Setup time is less than half that of the X-Stage lite Keith assured me in our conversations, time after time, that he wanted to know not just what was good with his pole but what was bad. He constantly talked about how they made improvements after Alethea pointed out issues with their pole. I fully expect that Keith from Platinum Stages will hold up his end of the bargain and stand up for the demonstration as he promised he would.
If Peytonplays had posted her question with a respectful tone, looking for information instead of looking to vent, she would have received many helpful, friendly replies. I doubt anyone would have had a negative reaction if they'd seen this post:: "I'm curious as to what kind of incentives Studioveena.com receives from X-Pole. Sometimes it seems like people are biased toward X-Pole on here. Can anyone tell me if I'm off the mark here?" I've seen that time and time again on this forum--as long as queries/complaints are voiced in a respectful way, they are answered fully and respectfully. I'm saying this having used StudioVeena for a full year, having disagreed sometimes with people and having agreed with others. I have never experienced what Peytonplays experienced when I disagreed with someone on this site. And I own a Lil' Mynx, a TG Expert, and I'm planning on buying a PS starr! If Peytonplays wasn't a troll, she shouldn't have behaved like one. This is the internet, and many of the cues we see in person aren't here. If you start ranting and raving about the two people that almost everyone here have come to care about very much, you will receive censure from the general community. Bottom line: disagreement is fine, but cool off first and don't make the community think you're yelling and/or attacking because it never ends well.

@Webbie; You guys spent a lot of time making that comparison. I'm suprised that you would do all that uncompensated; did you at least get to keep the pole? It was a fair and informational comparison in my view. I don't know what the big fuss is. It looks like a case of superior design to me. I'm basing this assesment of your comparison on visual evidence only: I watched the vid without the sound. So unless there was some bias hidden in the audio track... Good work Veena and Webbie.

@Brumby - It was alot of work, but so is this whole site. In many ways its a labor of love :)
