Well, we may already know each other, but I'm in StL!!
Not from StL but have a transfer here in Cleveland now.
Hi girls! Do you both take classes here in St Louis? I go to Fitchix on Olive, I've only been doing this for 2 months, but I'm totally hooked!
I take classes @ the Michelle Mynx Academy of Pole Dance. You can google Michelle Mynx, or Gravity Plays Favorites, and find a ton of videos. She's one of the best pole dancers in the country. We are super lucky to have her in StL. She's even been invited to Jamaica to teach @ Dance Wicked for a Week, a week of pole dancing @ Hedonism II. You should go!! Castaway Travels has a great deal. Mary Ellen is n SV, and she's the hostess (I guess that's an accurate discription)! I've been dancing for a few years now, and LOVE it!! Have you gotten upside down yet??
Bellz...did/do you know Corey? She is our "transplant" and came out to play with us last Wednesday night.
Yeah, I've seen her videos on youtube! I would love to take a class at Mynx sometime! Maybe I will take a workshop someday! I saw that they have open pole jam on sundays, but only if you are a student there.. pity cause I would love to drop in! As far as moves, I can do a few simple inverts, I'm working on my strength training for helicopters and elbow hold inverts. I am obsessed with watching youtube videos lol. I also have a few pdfs of moves from verticaldance.com
I do know Corey, and she is amazing!!! So you have her now....awesome for you guys!! Michelle used to do drop in classes, but now she actually has a waiting list for people who want to take her classes. She is phenomenal. 🙂 It's so awesome to connect with other StL polers!!! We have a show in about 7 weeks, you should check out our moves. 🙂 I'll post the info when I get it. All the money we raise goes to a rape crisis organization tho!
I would love to come see an event! I had class earlier and I was feeling really inspired! I have a friend coming to class with me tomorrow so I hope to take some pics to post! 🙂
That would be awesome!! I have class tonight 🙂 Need to leave soon actually... 🙂 I should post some pics....Ive got a few.... 🙂
Oh I'm sore today! I took a cardio ballet class tonight, and wow! I worked parts of my abs I didn't know could work! 😂 I brought a friend to class and thankfully she was happy to take a few pics of my progress. At least this way I can now track my progress. I'll have to find my usb cable before I can upload them!
I got a pic posted! I'm still working on a side spin into a superman, but it looks decent from this angle lol. I missed class tonight =( So I'm super excited to go to class tomorrow and work it out! My new goals for the month is to master the basic invert, try a scorpio/gemini (not sure what the difference is? 🤔 ) , and begin training to do a shoulder mount. I foresee a lot of ab work! *Groan!*
That's awesome!! I just posted some pics too. The gemini and scorpio are only a little different. If you're upside down, with the pole against your right side, and your left leg is hooked...its a gemini. If the pole is against your right side and your right leg is hooked, it's a scorpio. We've started the shoulder mount....those suck. lol. I can't do them yet.
Hey! Another Michelle Mynx fan. I've been taking classes with her since June and loving it. Anyone in the Wash U community?
I no longer refer to them as Gemini/Scorpio but inside leg hang or outside leg hang. It is easier for me to remember that way.
Hey! Another Michelle Mynx fan. I've been taking classes with her since June and loving it. Anyone in the Wash U community? I know some of the more advanced girls are...but not me. I graduated from SLU this year. 🙂 She really is great. So who are you? What classes do you take? Maybe I know you...

I went to pole jam 2 weeks ago and am gonna try to go again this weekend 🙂
That's cool. I don't go on Mondays... I USED to go Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but now it's just Thursdays. Do you plan on dancing in the showcase in a few weeks?
Welcome! 🌸
Welcome St. Louis!!! 🥂
WELCOME!!!!!
http://livingsocial.com/deals/6557?ref=STLDeal082310email Hey Ladies! Not sure if anyone has heard of "Divine Body Fitness" on Lindbergh, but this morning I received a Living Social Deal (Click link above) for $50 for 6 weeks of beginning pole classes. Just thought I would share! I wonder how many studios in St Louis actually teach pole classes and just don't really advertise it?
I feel incredibly lucky to be able to be taught by one of the best dancers in the country, Michelle Mynx, at Michelle Mynx's academy of pole dance http://sites.google.com/site/michellemynxacademyofpoledance/
Class and practice was AWESOME yesterday! I am finally improving on my helicopter, I'm learning some new elbow and armpit holds (ouchie!!!), and my twisted grip behind the back spin are looking FABulous! I talked to one of my instructors about doing an event for when the movie "Burlesque" comes out around Thanksgiving! How fun would it be to go watch the movie with friends and then have a pole jam with cute outfits just for fun? I'm down! If it looks like the event is happening, I will post more info!
Hello ladies! I finally posted a video of my tricks! I've officially been taking classes for 2 1/2 months now! And loving every minute! 😀
OMFG! I did my first Scorpio last night! I wasn't sure if I would be strong or coordinated enough so it was pretty exciting! Now granted I was gripping for dear life but hopefully now that I know what it feels like I can improve! Hey Bellz, I remember you saying something about an event or showcase at your studio? When it is, and can anyone come watch?
