Epilator, Latisse, Clarasonic....

OK, as some of you know I am in a rut so I have decided to use my "rut" time to pamper myself. First thing, I saw a young woman with awesome eye lashes yesterday. I asked is they were false and she said no Latisse. I have heard of it but amd too cheap to buy, so bought something that works rather well (accoding to the internet), Loreal Lash Serum. Just picked some up for $15.00. Anyone use that? I NEVER wash my face, so thought I would splurge on a facial cleanser. I know I have read about the Clarasonic, but also have ready about the Olay X-pro being comparable. $200.00 vs $37.00, so I bought the Olay. Will let you know.... Also was looking for an Epilator, but could only find two. Braunn Silk Epi #3 for $50.00 and the Silk Epi #7 (legs only) for $100.00. I am not sure what to buy......either of these or some other one? I know many of you have used the Epilator so advice would be great. I know laser is way to pricey for my taste so that is not an option. I also wax, but that is too time consuming and messy.

I love my Latisse! I have been using it for about 2 years. I only have to use it once a week to keep the results, so it is more cost effective as you go along. I also use it on my eyebrows, as they are super light and sparse. It has helped those as well. Keep us posted on how you like the Loreal. I am about to buy the Clarisonic Mia with my Ulta rewards points. I will only have to pay about $45! Enjoy your pampering!!

Thanks Saphyre. If I don't have results with the Loreal, might splurge for the Latisse. Just washed my face with the X-pro, and wow! But if I could get the Clarasonic for $45, I would be all over that!

Pampering sounds great! As for skin care I just use an electric toothbrush lol I am a cheap person. Coconut oil for moisturizing is about the most expensive thing I use. I look forward to your updates on how things are working :)

i just started using Latisse (about 3 weeks ago) and i can see no change. i have very few and tiny eyelashes tho, so it may take awhile??? I've been taking pics of my eyelashes every week to document any improvement. so far nothing....

I've been on latisee for a while and it makes my lashes look fake if i use it too oftne, so i'm down to 1x a week also :) i think it took maybe 3 months to see results? i know there are a lot of imitations out there, but honestly-- i dont think any of them work. if you read product reviews, they all seem to be ineffective. Sorry! but i think it's a case of-- latisee was super popular, and all these brands rushed to make an imitation, but the science isn't the same. latisse is expensive but it worked for me!

I agree with Amy in that it can take about 3 months to see results, so don't give up katana. I also had very few and tiny lashes. Now that I use it once a week, it keeps them looking natural and just the right length. When I use MAC cosmetics Haute Couture mascara they look fabulous!

Oh man! As a former Sephora consultant, I'm already a product junky! Now you ladies have me thinking about Latisse! I read that the reason it works so well is because it wasn't originally meant for lash growth. Latisse has an ingredient that a glaucoma medication has which caused patients to notice major lash growth. Lyme, let me know about the loreal product! If it's successful, my husband will thank you hehehe

Yes, Latisse was/is a glaucoma med and people who were on it started getting long lashes! I wll see how the Loreal goes and let you all know. If not, I may splurge on the Latisse. :)

I have the Olay Pro-X and love it! It has made a big difference in my overall skin quality and texture. I have not tried the Clarisonic, but from what I've read they are comparable in results (but better $!). I am also interested in Latisse, and have done a bit of research to determine if there was a comparable, less expensive option, but couldn't find any. Now that I hear that results can be maintained with fewer applications, it may be more affordable than I thought! And I'm definitely interested in your epi results, I hate shaving! Thanks for sharing :)

I will let you now how I like the Epilator....I am just hoping to get some ideas from other here on which to get. I saw them priced from $25 up to $100!

I had the Braun Silk Epi before I got laser. It did not hurt too badly, very tolerable. I thought it was pretty thorough. I use the Clarisonic Mio. I think the other difference from the regular is that it has only one speed (regular Clarisonic has 2) and it does not have a stand. I got it for a really good deal online. It was right after a holiday... can't remember which one (Memorial Day last year?), but it was on skinstore.com. I see that they're 20% off entire store right now... wonder if they'll drop even more for July 4... Oh and I've always wanted to try Latisse but couldn't stomach the price. I'm using RapidLash ($32 on drugstore.com) right now which has totally different ingredients. I'm on my second week. I don't know if it's just my imagination but I'm noticing some improvement! Will keep you updated in 4 weeks when it's supposed to start kicking in if you are interested. 🌸

I didn't want to use Latisse because I heard it can change the colour of your iris or something along the crazy lines of that.... I decided to buy something from Sephora by Talika Lipocils Expert. It's supposed to repigment your lashes, strengthen and grow them as well. I noticed just after 2 weeks of use that my lashes were much darker. After 3 months my lashes were noticeably longer. Because it's a conditioning lash enchaner, less eyelashes fell out so my lashes look fuller. I used to use it twice a day everyday for like 4 months... But stopped doing that and used it once a day everyday because I was having to trim my lashes because they would be so long they would always mush itself up against my glasses. Now I just use it 4 times a week. The cool thing about this is that it's got a sponge tip ontop of the regular mascara brush. I use that sponge tip on my eyebrows because I have sadly light non-noticeable eyebrows and they are much darker than they used to be. This cost me roughly around 50 bucks a tube and will last you about 6 months with everyday use. I'm also talking Canadian dollars, so for you Lyme, it would be less! I also have the Clarisonic Mia and it's the best investment I've made for a beauty tool. My face honestly does not feel clean without it. I can't go 1 day without using my Mia because my face just feels filthy without the use of this. I do not regret spending so much money on this tool because I've seen huge improvements on my skin since using this! I don't know how the Olay compares to the Mia because I've never tried any of the other power cleaning tools for the face. Tell me how it goes! As for the epilator, my Philips one was bought online from Amazon.com for roughly around 50 bucks as well! I think you'll really enjoy the effects of using an epilator Lyme!

I have been using Latisse for about 2 years -l oving it as well - no eye color change yet - I spend about $89 for the vial using every other day from latisse.bz so it is lasting over 2 months. Thanks for listening.

A little background: Latisse is actually Lumigan, which is a glaucoma medication. It was found that the eyelashes of people using it were significantly longer and fuller after a short period of use. The discoloration of the iris actually is a side effect of using it as a glaucoma medication, where you are dispensing drops directly into your eye, and it can change your eye color to brown permanently. Latisse was born out of the side effect finding and it is applied very lightly to the lash line so the chances of iris discoloration is slim. My cryptic message was regarding generic bimatoprost which is significantly cheaper (like $30 a bottle and lower) than the latisse name, and many of our neighbors to the north and possibly in europe may be able to get this direct without a prescription.

Thanks Chem, I've been wanting Latisse for a while. I just ordered Careprost w/out a prescription (there are legit sites to do this, for Latisse as well, they 'review' your file etc. etc.) Anyway, kudos and thank you, I only paid $28!!!!!

Hey guys im an optometrist from the uk just to let you know chemgoddes is absolutly right! Allergan has been very clever here because Latisse is in no way different to bitamoprost apart from the applicator sticks!! They have just marketed it differently and 4x the price!!! Unfortunately though the lash affect is actually a 'side affect' of what the intended purpose of the drug is for and we all know that not everyone suffers the same side affect so unfortunately not everyone will grow thicker fuller eyelashes! I am not sure how health care works in the USA but my advice would be to buy lumigan and soak a cotton wool bud is the solution and run it alon the lashes this way! Please note at the end of the day this is a side affect that was discovered from an acutual medical treatment please advise any optometrist that you are using this so they can monitor your pressures! Hope this has helped people! Xx

I have the Braun epliator. I bought it mostly b/c I really do hate shaving. its great for under the chin since I get a big chunk of them thanks to PCOS. But im having a hard time with my legs. It hurts like hell and have no idea how to get the pain managable. Then I get to a point where it doesnt grab all my hair and I have to go back.
