I am a beginer at a local pole studio. Been doing it for about 2 1/2 months. (not as often as i would like though bc of work, school, and car trouble.) I can stick several moves,. but the inverted crucifix is my nemisis. I have gotten it about 7 or 8 times but its forced looking and i cant get it every time,.. any advice? also im short- 5 ft.

Shortness has nothing to do with it. Can you stick a regular crucifix? And by "forced" what exactly do you mean...is your invert not solid and this is what looks forced? Have you tried it from a reverse hand stand? There are a lot of things that could go wornd...as usual a video will help.
by forced i mean it doesnt look graceful just muscled through it. and yep a regular crucifix is stuck easily.. and i can do lots other moves upside down so idk what the problem is. and yup i can go into a hand stand from it or a prtzel or what not but idk what my deal is
Chemmie is right, a video would allow us to give you better advice. As for now I'd say to make sure you use all the points of contact: top of foot, calf, in between knees, and in between thighs. Relying more on any one point will make this move more taxing. Make sure you can nail the move from a reversed handstand as well. Often times the process of inverting makes our brains go to mush and it's more difficult to figure out where things are supposed to go. The reverse handstand method is a good way to build muscle memory for the move in a different way.

hm. it sounds like you might be referring to the whole process of getting upside down, and staying there, as the inverted crucifix. is that the case? or do you literally just mean holding the inverted crucifix pose while already upside down?
sorry yall wish i could upload a video. Im refering to being able to stay in the inverted. I know where to put my feet , legs hands etc,.. but for some reason i cant stay and when i do it looks very forced.

Jenny, first don't be too discouraged, an inverted crucifix isn't easy. Be sure your using the right Points of Contacts and starting from the floor (a reverse handstand). POC's are: The back of the Calf and heel, Between the inside of the Knees, Between the Thighs. Use the muscle of the legs to hold you not only the skin. thank you :) The way I have been entering the move is invert 1 or gemini into crucifix then inverted crucifix then into catepillar or pretzel.
What you just described was: inverted into upright then inverted then inverted or upright. I am REALLY confused!!
ive finally go tthis move down!!!!! WOOO IM SO EXCITED :) what i did was 1- climb (like the fireman climb or crucifix like climb) 2- kicked my legs onto the pole into a chopper position 3.- hook my legs, ankles etc into their appropriate position and slide down (while in inverted crucifix ) woo :) yay lol may not be the best way to do it but i finally got it to stick every time i do it!!
Congrats! Post a video....would love to see how you did this. I struggled with the invert for many months also, but now feel as if I am getting it.
