Starting a little late. But my goals are. Drink 2 bottles of water so I don't drink my calories After walking home, stretch and use foam roller Reduce eating after dinner ab exercises 3x a week strenghth exercises 2x a week. take care of forearms Reduce coffee intake, and switch out of half and half and sugar.
Ok, so I am flustered and frustrated. I decided that this time so that I made a solid lifestyle change rather than "just going on a diet", I would start with small goals and when I felt I accomplished those goals I would add another one or two. I truly thought that if I cut out eating out (especially the fries, potato chips, and milkshakes at my second job) that I would just naturally lose a little bit of weight. My current goals that I am working on right now are: 🌸 Only eating out 8 times in a month - if I eat a potato chip at work, that counts as a night out. 🌸 Clean eating - I dont really know what this term truly means, but to me it is cooking healthy food using good, fresh ingredients and staying away from high fructose corn syrup as much as possible 🌸 Writing down what I am eating and what time. At the moment this does not include portion size, just what I am eating. I started this one this past Monday. I have been doing really well with meeting and following my goals. I am feeling successful in accomplishing these goals and already thinking about my next goals which are: making sure I get at least 8 glasses of water or tea a day add in two days of cardio at the gym. This is hard because I work a second and third job and finding time for this is complicated, but I think it is essential. I am currently not doing too much exercise - just one day where I go to pole class and chair class. But where I am frustrated and flustered is that I have not lost a single pound. I have actually gone up!!! I want my clothes to fit again. I am tired of not being able to wear my pants and only wearing skirts. I am tired of looking fat. I hate that I just tried on 4 different dresses to wear to a bat mitzvah this weekend and none of them looked great, when I know they used to. I don't want to give up. I can't give up. I hate the way I look and I want to see that stupid scale move. Help please!

Prncsopowr i feel your pain. I just posted a topic on this.. Im at my wits end with working out/watching what i eat and all i do is gain 🙁

Prncsopowr, what are you eating and when? Clean eating is...no processed sugar, no white flour, only healthy fat...olive oil etc. You need to be eating a minimum of 5 times a day. Here's an example of a day: Brft: 1/2 to 1 cup cooked oatmeal (a complex carb), 1/2 banana or 1/2 orange 6-8 ozs of water snack: apple or a lowfat yougurt or 1/4 cup raw nuts 6-8 ozs of water lunch: a salad with 1 tblspn of dressing (if you are not bodybuilding), 4 oz. chicken breast or a turkey, chicken lean deli meat sandwich, and a piece of fruit. No time...then a protein shake or a protein bar (Supreme is the best balance and will satisfy your sweet tooth as well as fill you up!) 6-8 ozs of water snack: yogurt or apple (apples are know to help with that mid section fat) 6-8 ozs of water Dinner: a salad, green veggie (1 cup), fish, chicken breast, or turkey (can be ground) 1 med baked potato or yam hungry before bed....have a protein shake or yogurt. 6-8 ozs of water note: COLD WATER IS BEST BECAUSE IT HELPS SPEED UP METABOLISM AS WELL!! What this does is keep your blood sugar level so you are not craving...we crave the "bad" cards (sweets, chips, etc. when our blood sugar drops). Also remember if you are not exercising you can not take in a lot of calories...calories in needs to balance with calories burned, and for potions, rule of thumb is only what fits in the palm of your hand. I would absolutely love to have at least 3 different options for meal plans so I don't get bored with the monotony as I am always on the go and this example is something I could definitely manage. I understand what to do to get my body where it needs to be, its the eating that always trips me up. I typically eat lean cuisines because they are fast and make the trip with me when I am on the go pretty well. I have heard that they aren't so great though because they are high in sodium.

I understand what to do to get my body where it needs to be, its the eating that always trips me up. I typically eat lean cuisines because they are fast and make the trip with me when I am on the go pretty well. I have heard that they aren't so great though because they are high in sodium. It's true they are high in sodium, but they are okay in a pinch. There are a lot of things you can do to prepare for meals on the go...I spend usually Sunday cooking ahead and portioning everything in 1 serving containers so I have my food with me wherever I need it...there ore many things that don't need to be microwaved which helps when I don't have one available or when time is limited. I will post some food choices later today when I have more time...I want to help in anyway I can...you guys are my FAMILY...and we are here to support each other with EVERTYTHING!!!!

Thats why is insanely high. I am slowly breaking myself of frozed meals. When I cook, I try to make an extra portion - that becomes my lunch the next day. I read somewhere that someone makes an extra portion they wrap it up and put it in the freezer so they have homemade frozen meals.

Thanks litlbit, I really appreciate it, its so hard for me to make the right food choices because I am away from home at least 14-15 hours a day and I need all the time saving I can get so I eat terribly. Its really affecting my progress with pole and so many other aspects of my life. I am also reaching a point in my life where I really need to be more health conscious so I can be sure to enjoy life after 30. I still have so many things to accomplish and life to live. I am studying a lot about health and human anatomy but oddly, I am still not getting enough information in regards to variation to what I can eat. I have been overweight for some time now, I'll admit that I am not grossly overweight, but nonetheless, I am. Its time to take charge and hopefully with beating eating habits I will finally be able to quit smoking for good. Thank you for your help.... I am sure I speak for all of us when I say you are amazing! 😉
Today was my weekly weigh in and in the past week I lost another 4lbs and 3.5 inches 😀 punkroc, I have noticed about myself that I am extremely sensitive to sodium. I was eating small portions of beef jerky as a snack because I figured that being high protein and low carb it was perfect, but on days where I ate the jerky and got less than 100oz of water I would hold on to 2-3lbs of water weight. I too prep a lot of my food on the weekends- cook 10lbs of chicken breasts, then portion into 3-4oz and vacuum seal those portions. I keep what I can use in 3 days in my fridge then freeze the rest, defrosting more as needed. I wash and cut veggies in bulk. I really don't eat a lot of "meals" as much as I eat components of meals. Example: breakfast- 4 egg whites (boiled) and a raw bell pepper snack activia yogurt, small handful of almonds, lunch turkey deli meat w/ avocado and alfalfa sprouts rolled and sliced, handful cherry tomatoes afternoon snack 2 mini cucumbers, protein shake dinner 4oz chicken breast, steamed broccoli I try to pair protein with fiber and keep my veggies low glycemic to prevent a lot of blood sugar spikes and dips.
Wow! I have to say thanks, first off. I never expected such support when I came on yesterday and expressed my frustrations. I have cut out white flour and white carbs and sugars, aside for a slip-up yesterday at my parents for Rosh Hashanah dinner. I actually yelled at my dad that he was mean and being unfair when he pulled out the Breyer's Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream as it is my favorite of all time. However, when my mom started pressuring me to take it home, I absolutely refused. I also learned I may be getting through to my parents a bit when I kept saying over and over again that I did not want egg noodles in my chicken soup - my mom first started telling me "you are not going to tell me how to serve food in my house" and getting mean about it, but I guess keeping my foot down that I did not want it may have gotten through to her. I figure if I tell her enough times that my clothing isn't fitting she may get the point that I need to lose weight. At this point I am staying away from preprepared foods and freezer meals as I can't control what is inside. Anyways, I also only use olive oil to cook with, but I just realized that a salad dressing I make that I love (Greek dressing) is made with vegetable oil. I will post a typical days food later on today and be very open to advice. I do try to change what I am eating pretty regularly because I do tend to get bored. I have also thought about seeing how much a nutritionist would cost me to go to. I went in college when I was working on overcoming an eating disorder, but I think I now need to see one to learn how to eat to lose weight for my body. But I definitely need to see how much of it my insurance would cover. Thanks again everyone!!!

1 week in! feel really good cos i've managed to keep my promise and not let work take over my life (only been one week, but it's a start)! 👍 But, i am super tired trying to fit everything in and i havent even been managing the weight training and flex training that i wanted to do - it's been all cardio, pole and a bit of abs here and there. 🙁 I know work will calm down a little bit in a week or 2 which means i should have more time to myself to do an extra half hour here and there of weights or flex. On the plus side, i'm down 2.5lb, half an inch on each thigh and one of the girls in my dance class commented on my 'six pack'. It's not there yet - i'm carrying too much body fat for a proper one - but there is some definition returning! 🥂 it's coming into winter though and my immune system is rubbish 🤮 which means things may start to slide. tips welcome!!!!
So I have been somewhat successful this week. I had chosen harder goals for this week (or at least it is harder to me, I am sure many of you have been doing this) which was to write down everything I ate. I did succeed, but I realized that what I ate this week is not really typical of what I would have rather eaten. I realize that doesn't make much sense. Basically the Jewish holidays were this week and therefore I definitely lost complete control of how things were cooked and what I was eating. If anyone has a Jewish mother, you know how challenging it can be to ask her to make a small modification. It was a large battle won when I convinced her not to put egg noodles in my chicken soup! I have not lost any weight, I actually gained. However, I am trying not to lose faith and I am took my measurements this morning and also wrote down my weight which I really didn't want to do until it was lower, but I knew I needed to in order to begin seeing trends. I know I put it into an earlier post but I am focusing on my previous goals and then two more for the upcoming week - tracking water and getting in two extra days of exercise. To be honest, I cannot figure out when I am getting the second day in due to the Jewish holidays next week and my work schedule. The good news is I do a lot of walking at my part-time job (server/bartender). I am hoping to lose a pound by next weekend and to really conquer my goals. Although I am frustrated that I have not lost weight, I am proud of myself for sticking to my goals which is one of the things keeping me moving forward. That and my size 4s that I miss!!!
down 5.1 lbs, bmi from 24.25 to 23.75, did a whole song dance last night for 1st time in almost a month, started working on SG aysha again, making healthy chicken meals tonight and tommorow to take to work w me this week, been doing atleast 30mins of activity everyday. seeing everyone take part in this has made a huge diffrence in my motivation. thanks guys! am so proud of you all for all your efforts big and small! PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION! day 11/100 every day good habits become more of a way of life. 🌸 🥂
as far as immunity.. vitamin c, green tea, wash hands thoroghly and frequently all the way up your wrists and under your nails, do not put your hands near your face ( alot of colds could be prevented if peeps kept hands off nose, mouth, and eyes) , take shoes off before entering house ( you bring in TONS of germs and toxins on the bottom of your shoes! ) eat whole foods ( veggies, fruits, fish etc), get enough sleep, do whatever you have to to reduce stress, orgasm ( seriously it helps boost your immunity . better to have sex w a partner assuming your both clean and safe as you get an immunity boost from your mans sperm if healthy and clean. i watch Dr Oz what can i say! ), carry your own pen! the bank pens are nasty!, carry small thing of sanitizer w you. good luck! ☀️

Thanks for the tips pole-twista! you managed to hit the nail on the head - i have stress related insomnia which means in winter i'm lucky if i get 3-4 hours sleep a night! It's always worse in winter cos i don't see daylight which upsets and frustrates me and I get stressed driving in bad weather (2 hour commute each day - no alternatives). This means my immune system is already stretched. I already cook all my own meals using fresh ingredients and eat fresh fruit daily so i suppose that's one thing i'm doing ok at. i will have to start using hand sanitizer more though - on an average day i'm in contact with at least 180 kids and their schoolbooks which cant be good for your health!!!
oh wow that is alot of people to be in contact w. maybe carry small container of hand sanitizer and encourage kids to use as well..? i sleep so poorly as well, but anything you can do to get better sleep is going to help. a warm bath before bed, yoga or meditation, reading, writting, daydreaming, lavender scented lotion or pillow spray, make sure room is totally dark ( you cant produce a certain sleep hormone w light, even from tv etc) , and cool and be sure you are comfortable as far as pillows, night clothes etc no pets in bed, use a fan or white noise machine.. hope some of this helps. am down 7lbs on day 14/100 and feel great!!!!!! just did 33mins wii active, did 11mins abs, 5 flights down stairs, and plan on pole and hoop later 😀 🫡 ☀️ 🥂
One other suggestion for the sleeping issue is to only sleep in your bed. No reading, no eating, no nothing. Once your body gets used to the idea that your bed is made for sleeping, many people's sleeping patterns improve. I am doing okay towards my goals. I found it very hard yesterday to track my food as I was at work and all of a sudden got very very hungry. Now this was to be expected as I didnt have time for dinner. I had eaten breakfast, and then a large lunch. But there was bad traffic on my way to my second job (bartending) and I had to be there at 4 so I never had a chance to eat. I had brought some nuts and raisins to munch on but found that was not sufficient. I nibbled on a couple chips (at least they are made in-house) but I also know that I can't do that. Next time, I need to make sure I bring a sandwich with me as I can probably step out from the bar to eat that for a couple minutes. I guess I can say lesson learned!
I've been doing well with the challenge. I'm down another few pounds, even with this being the week before my period where i would expect to have a couple pounds of water weight. At the gym I have decreased my cardio from 45 minutes to 30 minutes and I am doing more high intensity weights- harder sets with only 30 seconds-1 minute in between sets. I'm usually at the gym for about 2 hours which includes cardio warm up, weight training, stretching then getting my kids from the childcare place. I feel good. I bought some goal jeans a month or so ago and yesterday I was able to put them on and button them. They looked horrible- way, way too tight with a muffin top like woah, but it was still an improvement over not being able to pull them up completely! I'd say another 5-10lbs and they will look fantastic on me. I have taken my BMI from right under "obese" to the high range of "normal" and plan to get even lower 😀
Ive been uping my water intake - typically 2l to 3-4l daily. Its hard on the weekends, I tend to get a bit lazy. I read all labels and avoid the HFCS route. I serve out my meals instead of eating family style. I make an extra portion so I can take it to work the next day. as for the gym: I did 10min on the bike as a warm up. Worked on rotator cuffs, inner/outer thighs, wrists/grip, 12min of cardio and pushing it hard, push ups - both reg and reverse. Then I did abs. I do them on the ab bench but I lower it so I feel like im in the invert. I did obiliques w/weights - OMG its been 2 days and they are on fire still! For Pole: I had a great practice last thursday, got lots of footage. Im getter much better about getting inverted. Just need to work on a particular move. Yesterday was just crappy, I almost cried in class b/c I just couldnt get anything. We were doing pinwheel spins but holding our back leg, my body just didnt want to do it. Then came the split grip/underhand grip. I cant do that to save my life! I understand its a push/pull but my body just doesnt want to do it. Plus I have 2 HUGE boobs in the way and my short stubby arms dont help either. Ok, done complaining now! I will get that grip!
down 1" on waist!!!!! yay!!! i know there is still room for improvement w workouts etc, but am on the right track. have barely poled or danced all summer as was waaaaay too hot, but now it's getting cool so can start w pole again which should help w toning and strength. have decided to start weighing self every morning rather than 1x week. easier to correct a 2lb gain than 6lbs at end of week. not looking for perfection, just progress. so day 16/100 and down 7lbs and 1"off waist. so far so good. how is everyone coming along? have a couple recipes to share as soon as can find the paper! welll keep it up everyone! 🌸 🌸 🌸
I was out of the country on a business travel, so I could not keep up with the challenge the way I would do it from home. I did try to get enough water and fresh fruits, but I guess I was a bit under my goal. I did not pole at all, but I walked a lot and managed to drop half a kilo so far, so it was not too bad. I'll try to get back to the goals now that I am back home. Hope you all are doing well!

Thanks pole-twista and prncsopowr! Actually thankful at the mo that i'm so exhausted with work and good poling that i'm getting a good solid 4 hours a night lol!! After about 11 years (started when i was at school doing exams) i'm getting used to it! Just had some home made veg soup 🙂 and heading dance in about 2 hours - cant wait! this challenge has made me really motivated and feel like i'm doin really well mentally and physically so thanks to everyone for helping!!! xox

Bleh - I am not feeling any advancement yet strength-wise, and I'm starting to lose it in the mornings. I don't wake up early enough to get in a full 30-60 minute workout, the most I am making is a ten-minute workout. And as always I'm too tired in the evenings to finish it up. Today however is my first *REAL* day off in about two weeks so I'm doing some poling with a friend =) This past weekend was spent at the EMW Polarity Competition. I didn't compete but I did do a Pole Jam on Friday and workshops on Sunday that royally kicked my butt =P
