    Wow, that's an extensive itinerary.

In NY, my favorite place is Body and Pole. Kyra Johanssen is my favorite instructor ever. You should definitely take from her. You would also greatly benefit from one of her champion pole dancers, Marlo Fiskin, Michelle Stanek, or Rebecca Starr (if she's in town).

While you're in Virginia Beach, you HAVE to go to Esteem Fitness. They have amazing instructors there and they are the sweetest bunch of people you will ever meet. One of my favorite instructors at Esteem in Nicole. You can find her on this site. Her username is NikkiP20.

Yes, Body and Pole is the best in your NYC.  They are all amazing there.

When you go to washington DC visit the P Spot http://www.bringitupsexy.com I’ve been going for 3 yrs and it is the best workout you will ever get. Also wikipole has all the pole studios organized by state! You can google that page and see what studios are around where you will be going!

I also highly recommend a vist to NY Pole Dancing!!! The climb and spin program is so much fun and the instructors are great! I've taken classes with Kira (who is on here) Anna and Wendy. All are great.

WIthout derailing this thread … I would just suggest that you personally contact someone at NYPD before you go in to ask about your options.  Their process of checking you off sequentially before you are allowed to perform moves can be really frustrating if you only have time to drop in for one class and want to, say, be allowed to invert.  Just FYI!

I never took climb and invert classes at NYPD…I took basic and advanced climb and spin. KT Coates was there with me and not only did we have a blast but the advanced C&S was challenging for both of us.

Many studios will not allow you to just drop in and do advanced classes so calling ahead to understand policies is a good idea for any studio you visit.

i am a pole/chair dance instructor myself… i teach beginners and intermediate classes… but i guess the level in the US is much higher than in austria. in austria pole dance is very new.. so i expect everybody to be much better than me (since i have started pole dancing only 1,5 years ago)

i hope they will allow me to just drop in.. maybe i should tell them that i am teaching… i just don't want them to expect too much 😉

Empy — I don't mean to sound totally negative.  I've actually taken a couple Climb & Spin classes with my sister, who is a beginner, and we both had fun and got a great workout!  Gabrielle Valliere was our instructor and she was a sweetheart.  I just wanted to mention my experience dropping into "Open Pole" expecting to work on new tricks.

And you're totally right, I now contact studios I visit beforehand 🙂

No problem Lilblondie…I understand. It's tough crossing over from one studio to another with so many different expectations at each studio.
