i feel silly asking this but if you are right-handed which side of the pole should you invert from? Got told by a fellow poler that i have been taught it the left-handed way so a bit confused lol

Both sides! I prefer to invert from my right side (so standing to the left of the pole) but I do both.

I am right handed, and I invert mostly with my body to the right of the pole, right hand on top, left hand by face. Sparrow is right in that you should be inverting on both sides.

I agree with sparrow,  with every trick I try – I alternate between sides.

You will find that it is harder on one side, but with time, there won't be an extreme difference between them, so when you do need the other side (i.e – when there is a trick that requires you to use your left sided invert), you won't get stuck.

That said – I am right handed, and my better side the same as sensualscimitar's –  when I start with my left side to the pole, left hand at about head height and my right hand above it, and I "kick" my right leg up to the pole first.
