So I am ordering my pole this weekend….decided on the tg 45mm….I have only used brass 50mm so hoping going down won’t be an issue…I did go to home depot to see the difference for grip between the 2, and it didn’t seem to be a lot…I have been saving money and also been indecisive, so just kind of going for it and doing the tg….

45 is very nice. IMO, 45s are not difficult. I find the 50's more awkward. most moves are easier for me on the smaller diameters…

The lovely Lyme Lyte let me try out her 45mm and I like it waaayyy better than my 50 mm. I have pretty small hands and I'm not the most flexible person so the 45 mm is a bit easier for me to work with. I think thigh grips are a slight bit more difficult because of the smaller diameter but not horribly so.

Yes, thigh grips are a tad bit tougher so you have to squeeze more, but it's not gonna put you back in your progress. Knee holds, twists, etc are much easier the smaller the diameter. Hand grip is much better.
